1 Ayiwa, o le kosɔn aw ye juguya ni nanbara ni flankafuya ni ɲangboya ni ɲɔgɔnkɔrɔfɔ bɛɛ dabla.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Nɔnɔ nege bɛ denɲɛnin sɔrɔ cogo min na, aw y’a to Ala ta Kuma min bɛ i ko nɔnɔ saninyanin, o nege ye aw sɔrɔ ten, janko o sababu ra aw ye baraka sɔrɔ lanaya ra ka kisi.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 Sabu aw ka Matigi ta ɲumanya nɛnɛ, k’a ye ko a ka di.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Aw ye gbara Matigi ra, ale min ye bon jusiginan kabakuru ɲanaman ye; mɔgɔw banna a ra, nka Ala k’a ɲanawoloma, ka nafaba la a kan.

5 Ayiwa, aw fana kɛra kabakuru ɲanaman dɔw ye; aw ye fara ɲɔgɔn kan, ka kɛ Ala ta bon saninman ye, ka kɛ Ala ta sarakalasebaga* saninmanw ye, janko ka aw jusukun ta sarakaw lase Ala ma Yesu Kirisita baraka ra, saraka minw ka di Ala ye.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Sabu a sɛbɛra Kitabu kɔnɔ, ko:
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Aw minw lara a ra, a kɛra fɛn nafaman ye aw fɛ; nka lanabariw ta fan fɛ, a sɛbɛra ko:
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 A fɔra tuun ko:
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Nka aw kɔni, aw ye siya wolomanin le ye, aw ye Masa Ala ta sarakalasebagaw le ye, ani siya saninman, ani Ala ta mɔgɔ kunmabɔninw; Ala ka aw wele ka bɔ dibi ra ka aw ladon a ta yeelensɔbɛ ra, janko aw ye a ta koɲuman kabakomanw lase mɔgɔw ma.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Fɔlɔfɔlɔ aw tun tɛ Ala ta mɔgɔw ye, nka sisan aw kɛra Ala ta mɔgɔw ye. Fɔlɔfɔlɔ aw minw tun ma Ala ta makari sɔrɔ, sisan aw ka a sɔrɔ.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Ne balema kanuninw, aw bɛ dunuɲa kɔnɔ i n’a fɔ lonan tɛmɛbagaw; o kosɔn ne bɛ aw daari ko aw ye aw farisogo negerakow ye ka o to yi, sabu o negerako bɛ aw nin kɛrɛ.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Aw ye aw tagamacogo lɔn siya wɛrɛ mɔgɔw cɛ ra. O cogo ra, hali ni o bɛ aw tɔgɔjugu fɔ k’a kɛ i n’a fɔ aw ka kojugu kɛ, o belen ye aw ta kɛwaleɲumanw ye; ni o kɛra, ni Ala nana nɛɛma o ye lon min na, o bɛna a tando.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Matigi kosɔn, aw ye aw yɛrɛ majigi adamadenw ta kuntigiyaw bɛɛ kɔrɔ, ka aw yɛrɛ majigi masacɛba ye kosɛbɛ, ale min bɛ bɛɛ kunna,
13 — ausente —
14 ani jamanatigiw, masacɛba ka minw ci janko ka kojugukɛbagaw koro, ani ka koɲumankɛbagaw tando.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Sabu Ala sago ye ko aw ye koɲuman kɛ janko ka mɔgɔkolon hakirintanw da datugu.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Ala ka aw kɛ aw yɛrɛ ta ye, nka aw kana o kɛ sababu ye ka kojugu kɛ; aw ye ɲanamanya i ko Ala ta jɔnw.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Aw ye mɔgɔ bɛɛ bonya; aw ye aw balemaw kanu, aw ye siran Ala ɲa, aw ye masacɛba bonya.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Aw baaradenw, aw ye aw yɛrɛ majigi aw kuntigiw ye, ka o bonya cogoya bɛɛ ra; kuntigi minw ka ɲi, ani minw jusu sumanin lo, olugu dɔrɔn tɛ, nka hali minw ka fari.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Sabu ni aw man kan ni tɔɔrɔ min ye, ni aw bɛ o sɔnminana Ala yɛrɛ ɲasiran kosɔn, o ye koɲuman le ye.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Ni o tɛ, ni aw bɛ bugɔri sɔnmina aw yɛrɛ ta kojuguw le kosɔn, aw bɛ bonya juman le sɔrɔ o ra? Nka ni aw bɛ tɔɔrɔ sɔnmina aw ta koɲuman le kosɔn, o ye koɲumanba le ye Ala fɛ.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Ala ka aw wele o le kama fana, sabu Kirisita* fana tɔɔrɔra aw kosɔn, ka o sira yira aw ra, janko aw fana ye tugu ale sennɔ kɔ.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Ale ma jurumun si kɛ, faninya si ma bɔ a da ra ka ye.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 O k’a nɛni, nka a ma a ta ɲɔgɔn sara; o k’a tɔɔrɔ, nka a ma wuri mɔgɔ kama; a ka a ta ko bɛɛ to Ala le boro, ale Ala min bɛ kiti tigɛ ni terenninya ye.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 A ka an ta jurumunw doni ta ka o la a yɛrɛ kan, k’a farikolo tɔɔrɔ gbengben yiri kan. A ka o kɛ, janko an ye sa ka bɔ jurumun fanga kɔrɔ, ka ɲanamanya terenninya ra. Jori minw tigɛra a farikolo ra, o le sababu ra aw kɛnɛyara.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Sabu aw tun bɛ i ko saga tununinw; nka sisan aw sekɔra ka na sagagbɛnbaga fɛ, min ye aw nin kɔrɔsibaga ye.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
