¹ A psalm for David. Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation that is not holy : deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man.

¹ Ó Deus, declara que eu estou inocente e defende a minha causa contra essa gente que não te adora! Livra-me das pessoas traiçoeiras e perversas.

² For thou art God my strength : why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me?

² Tu, ó Deus, és o meu protetor; por que me abandonaste? Por que tenho de viver sofrendo, perseguido pelos meus inimigos?

³ Send forth thy light and thy truth : they have conducted me, and brought me unto thy holy hill, and into thy tabernacles.

³ Manda a tua luz e a tua verdade para que elas me ensinem o caminho e me levem de volta a o teu monte santo, e ao teu Templo, onde vives.

⁴ And I will go in to the altar of God : to God who giveth joy to my youth.

⁴ Então eu irei até o teu altar, ó Deus, pois tu és a fonte da minha felicidade. Tocarei a minha e cantarei louvores a ti, ó Deus, meu Deus!

⁵ To thee, O God my God, I will give praise upon the harp : why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me?

⁵ Por que estou tão triste? Por que estou tão aflito? Eu porei a minha esperança em Deus e ainda o louvarei. Ele é o meu Salvador e o meu Deus.

⁶ Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him : the salvation of my countenance, and my God.
