1 In and the days those increasing the disciples, came a murmuring of the Hellenists to the Hebrews, because were overlooked in the service the daily the widows of them.
1 Naqueles dias, crescendo o número de discípulos, os judeus de fala grega entre eles queixaram-se dos judeus de fala hebraica, porque suas viúvas estavam sendo esquecidas na distribuição diária de alimento.
2 Having called and the twelve the multitude of the disciples, said: Not proper it is us having left the word of the God, to serve tables.
2 Por isso os Doze reuniram todos os discípulos e disseram: "Não é certo negligenciarmos o ministério da palavra de Deus, a fim de servir às mesas.
3 Look you out therefore, brethren, men from of you being attested seven, full of spirit and wisdom, whom we will appoint to the need this;
3 Irmãos, escolham entre vocês sete homens de bom testemunho, cheios do Espírito e de sabedoria. Passaremos a eles essa tarefa
4 we but to the prayer and to the service of the word will constantly attend.
4 e nos dedicaremos à oração e ao ministério da palavra".
5 And pleased the word in presence of all of the multitude; and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and spirit holy, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus a proselyte of Antioch;
5 Tal proposta agradou a todos. Então escolheram Estêvão, homem cheio de fé e do Espírito Santo, além de Filipe, Prócoro, Nicanor, Timom, Pármenas e Nicolau, um convertido ao judaísmo, proveniente de Antioquia.
6 whom they placed in presence of the apostles; and having prayed they put to them the hands.
6 Apresentaram esses homens aos apóstolos, os quais oraram e lhes impuseram as mãos.
7 And the word of the God grew, and was multiplied the number of the disciples in Jerusalem greatly; great and a crowd of the priests were obedient to the faith.
7 Assim, a palavra de Deus se espalhava. Crescia rapidamente o número de discípulos em Jerusalém; também um grande número de sacerdotes obedecia à fé.
8 Stephen and full of favor and of power performed prodigies and signs great among the people.
8 Estêvão, homem cheio da graça e do poder de Deus, realizava grandes maravilhas e sinais entre o povo.
9 Stood up and some of those from the synagogue of that being called of Libertines, and of Cyrenians, and of Alexandrians, and of those from Cilicia and Asia, disputing with the Stephen;
9 Contudo, levantou-se oposição dos membros da chamada Sinagoga dos Libertos, dos judeus de Cirene e de Alexandria, bem como das províncias da Cilícia e da Ásia. Esses homens começaram a discutir com Estêvão,
10 and not were able to resist the wisdom and the spirit with which he spoke.
10 mas não podiam resistir à sabedoria e ao Espírito com que ele falava.
11 Then they thrust under men, saying: That we have heard him speaking words blasphemous against Moses and the God.
11 Então subornaram alguns homens para dizerem: "Ouvimos Estêvão falar palavras blasfemas contra Moisés e contra Deus".
12 They stirred up and the people and the elders and the scribes, and having come upon they seized him, and led into the high council,
12 Com isso agitaram o povo, os líderes religiosos e os mestres da lei. E, prendendo Estêvão, levaram-no ao Sinédrio.
13 stood up and witnesses false, saying: The man this not ceases words speaking against the place of the holy and the law.
13 Ali apresentaram falsas testemunhas que diziam: "Este homem não pára de falar contra este lugar santo e contra a lei.
14 We have heard for him saying: That Jesus the Nazarene this will destroy the place this, and will change the customs, which delivered to us Moses.
14 Pois o ouvimos dizer que esse Jesus, o Nazareno, destruirá este lugar e mudará os costumes que Moisés nos legou".
15 And having gazed on him all those being seated in the highcouncil, saw the face of him like a face of a messenger.
15 Olhando para ele, todos os que estavam sentados no Sinédrio viram que o seu rosto parecia o rosto de um anjo.
