1 Beloved ones, not every spirit do you believe, but do you prove the spirits, if from of the God is; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1 Amados, não acreditem em todo espírito, mas ponham-no à prova para ter a certeza de que o espírito vem de Deus, pois há muitos falsos profetas no mundo.
2 By this you know the spirit of the God; every spirit which confesses Jesus Anointed in flesh having come, from of the God is.
2 Assim sabemos se eles têm o Espírito de Deus: todo espírito que reconhece que Jesus Cristo veio em corpo humano é de Deus,
3 And every spirit who not confesses the Jesus, from the God not is; and this is that of the antichrist, which you heard that it comes, and now in the world is already.
3 mas todo espírito que não reconhece a verdade a respeito de Jesus não é de Deus. Esse é o espírito do anticristo, sobre o qual vocês ouviram que viria ao mundo e, de fato, já está aqui.
4 You of the God are, dear children, and have overcome them; because greater is he in you, than he in the world.
4 Filhinhos, vocês pertencem a Deus e já venceram os falsos profetas, pois o Espírito que está em vocês é maior que o espírito que está no mundo.
5 They from the world are; on account of this of the world they speak, and the world them hears.
5 Eles pertencem a este mundo, portanto falam do ponto de vista do mundo, e o mundo os ouve.
6 We of the God are; the one knowing the God, hear us; who not is of the God, not hears us. By this we know the spirit of the truth and the spirit of the error.
6 Nós, porém, pertencemos a Deus. Quem conhece a Deus nos ouve, mas quem não conhece a Deus não nos ouve. Desse modo sabemos se alguém tem o Espírito da verdade ou o espírito do erro.
7 Beloved ones, we should love each other; because the love of the God is, and every one the loving, by the God has been begotten, and knows the God;
7 Amados, continuemos a amar uns aos outros, pois o amor vem de Deus. Quem ama é nascido de Deus e conhece a Deus.
8 he not loving, not knew the God, because the God love is.
8 Quem não ama não conhece a Deus, porque Deus é amor.
9 in this was manifested the love of the God in us, because the son of himself the onlybegotten sent forth the God into the world, so that we might live through him.
9 Deus mostrou quanto nos amou ao enviar seu único Filho ao mundo para que, por meio dele, tenhamos vida.
10 In this is the love, not that we loved the God, but that he loved us, and sent forth the son of himself a propitiation respecting the sins of us.
10 É nisto que consiste o amor: não em que tenhamos amado a Deus, mas em que ele nos amou e enviou seu Filho como sacrifício para o perdão de nossos pecados.
11 Beloved ones, if thus the God loved us, also we ought each other to love. God no one at any time has seen.
11 Amados, visto que Deus tanto nos amou, certamente devemos amar uns aos outros.
12 If we love each other, the God in us abides, and the love of him having been perfected it is in us.
12 Ninguém jamais viu a Deus. Mas, se amamos uns aos outros, Deus permanece em nós, e seu amor chega, em nós, à expressão plena.
13 By this we know, that in him we abide, and he in us, because out of the spirit of himself he has given us.
13 Deus nos deu seu Espírito como prova de que permanecemos nele, e ele em nós.
14 And we have seen and we testify, that the Father sent forth the son a savior of the world.
14 Além disso, vimos com os próprios olhos e agora testemunhamos que o Pai enviou seu Filho para ser o Salvador do mundo.
15 Whoever may confess, that Jesus is the son of the God, the God in him abides, and he in the God.
15 Aquele que declara que Jesus é o Filho de Deus, Deus permanece nele, e ele em Deus.
16 And we have known and we have believed the love, which has the God in us. The God love is, and the one abiding in the love, in the God abides, and the God in him.
16 Sabemos quanto Deus nos ama e confiamos em seu amor. Deus é amor, e quem permanece no amor permanece em Deus, e Deus nele.
17 By this has been perfected the love with us, so that boldness we may have in the day of the judgment, because as he is, also we are in the world this.
17 À medida que permanecemos em Deus, nosso amor se torna mais perfeito. Assim, teremos confiança no dia do julgamento, pois vivemos como Jesus viveu neste mundo.
18 Fear not is in the love, but the perfect love outside casts the fear; because the fear a restraint has; the but one fearing not has been perfected in the love.
18 Esse amor não tem medo, pois o perfeito amor afasta todo medo. Se temos medo, é porque tememos o castigo, e isso mostra que ainda não experimentamos plenamente o amor.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
19 Nós amamos porque ele nos amou primeiro.
20 If any one may say: That I love the God, and the brother of himself he may hate, a liar he is; the for not one loving the brother of himself, whom he has seen, the God, whom not he has seen, how is he able to love?
20 Se alguém afirma: “Amo a Deus”, mas odeia seu irmão, é mentiroso, pois se não amamos nosso irmão, a quem vemos, como amaremos a Deus, a quem não vemos?
21 And this the commandment we have from him, that the one loving the God should love also the brother of himself.
21 Ele nos deu este mandamento: quem ama a Deus, ame também seus irmãos.
