¹ Hallelujah! Praise Jehovah, O my soul.

¹ Aleluia! Louve, ó minha alma ao Senhor.

² As long as I live will I praise Jehovah; I will sing psalms unto my God while I have my being.

² Louvarei ao Senhor por toda a minha vida; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto eu viver.

³ Put not confidence in nobles, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

³ Não confiem em príncipes, em meros mortais, incapazes de salvar.

⁴ His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his purposes perish.

⁴ Quando o espírito deles se vai, voltam ao pó; naquele mesmo dia acabam-se os seus planos.

⁵ Blessed is he who hath the *God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Jehovah his God,

⁵ Como é feliz aquele cujo auxílio é o Deus de Jacó, cuja esperança está no Senhor, no seu Deus,

⁶ Who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;

⁶ que fez os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo o que neles há, e que mantém a sua fidelidade para sempre!

⁷ Who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth bread to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners;

⁷ Ele defende a causa dos oprimidos e dá alimento aos famintos. O Senhor liberta os presos,

⁸ Jehovah openeth {the eyes of} the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous;

⁸ o Senhor dá vista aos cegos, o Senhor levanta os abatidos, o Senhor ama os justos.

⁹ Jehovah preserveth the strangers; he lifteth up the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked doth he subvert.

⁹ O Senhor protege o estrangeiro e sustém o órfão e a viúva, mas frustra o propósito dos ímpios.

¹⁰ Jehovah will reign for ever, {even} thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Hallelujah!
