¹ Hallelujah! Praise Jehovah, O my soul.

¹ Louvai ao SENHOR. Louva ao SENHOR, ó minha alma.

² As long as I live will I praise Jehovah; I will sing psalms unto my God while I have my being.

² Enquanto eu viver louvarei ao SENHOR; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto eu existir.

³ Put not confidence in nobles, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

³ Não ponhais vossa confiança em príncipes, nem no filho do homem, em quem não há socorro.

⁴ His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his purposes perish.

⁴ Seu fôlego vai embora, ele retorna para a sua terra; naquele mesmo dia seus pensamentos perecem.

⁵ Blessed is he who hath the *God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Jehovah his God,

⁶ Who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;

⁶ Que fez o céu e a terra, o mar e tudo quanto neles há; que guarda a verdade para sempre;

⁷ Who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth bread to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners;

⁷ que executa juízo aos oprimidos; que dá alimento aos famintos. O SENHOR solta os prisioneiros.

⁸ Jehovah openeth {the eyes of} the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous;

⁸ O SENHOR abre os olhos dos cegos; o SENHOR levanta aqueles que estão curvados; o SENHOR ama os justos;

⁹ Jehovah preserveth the strangers; he lifteth up the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked doth he subvert.

⁹ O SENHOR preserva os estrangeiros; ele alivia o órfão e a viúva; mas o caminho do perverso ele vira de cabeça para baixo.

¹⁰ Jehovah will reign for ever, {even} thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Hallelujah!
