1 Why, Jehovah, standest thou afar off? {Why} hidest thou thyself in times of distress?
1 Por que tu estás de longe, ó SENHOR? Por que escondes a ti mesmo em tempos de dificuldades?
2 The wicked, in his pride, doth hotly pursue the afflicted. They shall be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
2 Os perversos no seu orgulho perseguem os pobres; que sejam apanhados nos artifícios que imaginaram.
3 For the wicked boasteth of his soul's desire, and he blesseth the covetous; he contemneth Jehovah.
3 Porque o perverso se gaba do desejo do seu coração, e bendiz o cobiçoso, a quem o SENHOR abomina.
4 The wicked {saith}, in the haughtiness of his countenance, He doth not search out: all his thoughts are, There is no God!
4 O perverso pelo orgulho de seu semblante não buscará a Deus; Deus não está em todos os seus pensamentos.
5 His ways always succeed; thy judgments are far above out of his sight; {as for} all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.
5 Os seus caminhos são sempre penosos; os teus juízos estão muito acima, fora da vista dele; e quanto a todos os seus inimigos, ele soprou sobre eles.
6 He saith in his heart, I shall not be moved; from generation to generation I shall be in no adversity.
6 Ele disse em seu coração: Eu não serei movido, porque nunca estarei em adversidade.
7 His mouth is full of cursing, and deceit, and oppression; under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.
7 A sua boca está cheia de maldição, engano e fraude; debaixo da sua língua há dano e vaidade.
8 He sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; in the secret places doth he slay the innocent: his eyes watch for the wretched.
8 Ele se assenta nos lugares de espreita das aldeias; nos lugares secretos assassina o inocente; os seus olhos estão secretamente postos sobre o pobre.
9 He lieth in wait secretly, like a lion in his thicket; he lieth in wait to catch the afflicted: he doth catch the afflicted, drawing him into his net.
9 Ele fica à espreita secretamente como um leão na sua cova; ele fica à espreita para pegar o pobre; quando ele o arrasta para a sua rede.
10 He croucheth, he boweth down, that the wretched may fall by his strong ones.
10 Ele se agacha, e se humilha, para que o pobre caia pelos seus fortes.
11 He saith in his heart, *God hath forgotten, he hideth his face, he will never see {it}.
11 Ele disse em seu coração: Deus esqueceu-se; ele escondeu sua face; ele nunca verá isso.
12 Arise, Jehovah; O *God, lift up thy hand: forget not the afflicted.
12 Levanta-te, ó SENHOR. Ó Deus, levanta a tua mão; não te esqueças dos humildes.
13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? He hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require {it}.
13 Por que o perverso menospreza Deus? Ele disse em seu coração: Tu não exigirás isso.
14 Thou hast seen {it}, for thou thyself beholdest trouble and vexation, to requite by thy hand. The wretched committeth himself unto thee; thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.
14 Tu o viste, porque contemplas o dano e o despeito, para o requerer com tua mão; o pobre se compromete contigo; tu és o auxílio do órfão.
15 Break thou the arm of the wicked, and as for the evil man, seek out his wickedness {till} thou find none.
15 Quebra o braço do perverso e do homem maligno; busca a sua perversidade, até que nenhuma encontres.
16 Jehovah is King for ever and ever: the nations have perished out of his land.
16 O SENHOR é Rei para sempre e sempre; os pagãos perecem fora de sua terra.
17 Jehovah, thou hast heard the desire of the meek, thou hast established their heart: thou causest thine ear to hear,
17 SENHOR, tu ouviste o desejo dos humildes; tu prepararás os seus corações; farás com que teu ouvido os ouça;
18 To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed one, that the man of the earth may terrify no more.
18 para julgar os órfãos e os oprimidos, para que o homem da terra não possa mais oprimir.
