2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;

3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;

4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 Come che' ja'el ti oñiyi jini ch'ujul bʌ x'ixicob tsa' bʌ i pijtayob i wenlel ti Dios tsi' ch'ʌlʌyob i bʌ ja'el. Tsi' yʌc'ʌyob i bʌ ti uts'at ti' wenta i ñoxi'al.
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.

9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.

10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 La' i cʌy jontolil. La' i mel chuqui uts'at. La' i sʌclan i wenlel i pi'ʌlob cha'an ñʌch'ʌl mi' yajñel yic'otob.
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Come lac Yum woli' wen q'uel jini tojo' bʌ. Mi' yubibeñob i yoración. Pero mi' contrajin jini mu' bʌ i melob jontolil”.
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Mi bʌxetla ti' melol chuqui uts'at, ¿am ba majqui mi caj i tic'lañetla?
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Pero mi woli la' tic'lʌntel cha'an ti' melol chuqui toj, tijicñayetla. Jini cha'an mach la' cha'len bʌq'uen che' mi' cha'leñob bʌc'tesaya. Mach la' mel la' pusic'al.
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 Pero chʌn yumanla Cristo ti la' pusic'al. Yom chajpʌbil la' pusic'al ti pejtelel ora cha'an mi la' suben la' pi'ʌlob baqui tilem la' pijtaya che' mi' c'ajtibeñetla. Subenla ti uts bʌ t'an yic'ot c'uxbiya.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 Mi yom Dios mi la cubin wocol, ña'tanla uts'at mi la cubin cha'an wen bʌ lac melbal, mach cha'anic jontolil.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Come Cristo ja'el ti junyajlel tsi' yubi wocol cha'an mulil. Jini Toj bʌ tsi' yʌc'ʌ i bʌ ti chʌmel cha'an jini mach bʌ tojobic, cha'an mi' pʌyonla ti' tojlel Dios. Isujmʌch tsa' tsʌnsʌnti ti' bʌc'tal, pero tsa' cha' cuxtiyi ti jini espíritu.
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.

20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.

21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
