2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 ϦⲈⲚ ⲚⲀⲒ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲒⲤⲞⲖⲤⲈⲖ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲦⲤⲀⲂⲞⲖ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲒⲒⲈⲂ ⲚϨⲰⲖⲔ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲒϤⲰⲒ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲒⲒⲈⲂ ⲚⲚⲞⲨⲂ ⲒⲈ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨϨⲈⲂⲤⲰ ⲚϮϨⲒⲰⲦⲞⲨ ⲈⲤⲤⲈⲖⲤⲰⲖ.
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲠⲒⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲈⲦϨⲎⲠ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒϨⲎⲦ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲀⲦⲦⲀⲔⲞ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲈⲦϨⲞⲨⲢⲰⲞⲨ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲢⲈⲘⲢⲀⲨϢ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲘⲠⲈⲘⲐⲞ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲚⲞⲨⲐⲞ ⲚⲢⲎϮ.
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 ⲠⲀⲒⲢⲎϮ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲠⲈ ⲚⲞⲨⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲚⲚⲒϨⲒⲞⲘⲒ ⲈⲐⲞⲨⲀⲂ ⲚⲀⲨⲈⲢϨⲈⲖⲠⲒⲤ ⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲠⲈ ⲚⲀⲨⲤⲞⲖⲤⲈⲖ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲈⲨϬⲚⲞ ⲚϪⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲚⲞⲨϨⲀⲒ.
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲚⲤⲀⲢⲢⲀ ⲈⲤⲤⲰⲦⲈⲘ ⲚⲤⲀⲀⲂⲢⲀⲀⲘ ⲈⲤⲘⲞⲨϮ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ϪⲈ ⲠⲀϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲐⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢϢⲈⲢⲒ ⲚⲀⲤ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲠⲒⲠⲈⲐⲚⲀⲚⲈϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢϨⲞϮ ⲀⲚ ϦⲀⲦϨⲎ ⲚϨⲖⲒ ⲚϨⲞϮ
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.
7 ⲠⲀⲒⲢⲎϮ ⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲔⲈϨⲰⲞⲨⲦ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϢⲞⲠ ⲚⲈⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲤⲔⲈⲨⲞⲤ ⲚⲀⲤⲐⲈⲚⲎ ⲤⲠⲈ ⲚⲒϨⲒⲞⲘⲒ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϮⲦⲀⲒⲞ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ϨⲰⲤ ⲈⲨⲞⲒ ⲚϢⲪⲎⲢ ⲚⲔⲖⲎⲢⲞⲚⲞⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲈⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲠⲒϨⲘⲞⲦ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲰⲚϦ ⲚⲞⲨⲐⲞ ⲚⲢⲎϮ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ϪⲈ ⲚⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲦⲀϨⲚⲞ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲠⲢⲞⲤⲈⲨⲬⲎ.
7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 ⲠϪⲰⲔ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲞⲒ ⲚⲞⲨⲘⲈⲨⲒ ⲚⲞⲨⲰⲦ ⲦⲎⲢⲞⲨ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲞⲒ ⲚϢⲪⲎⲢ ⲚϬⲒϦⲒⲤⲒ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲞⲒ ⲘⲘⲀⲒⲤⲞⲚ ⲚϢⲀⲚⲐⲘⲀϦⲦ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲐⲈⲂⲒⲎ ⲞⲨⲦ.

9 ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϮ ⲚⲞⲨⲠⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ ⲀⲚ ϦⲀ ⲞⲨⲠⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ⲞⲨϨⲰⲞⲨϢ ϦⲀ ⲞⲨϨⲰⲞⲨϢ ⲠⲈⲦⲞⲨⲂⲎϤ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲘⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲐⲀϨⲈⲘ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲈⲠⲀⲒϨⲰⲂ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲔⲖⲎ ⲢⲞⲚⲞⲘⲒⲚ ⲘⲠⲒⲤⲘⲞⲨ.
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 ⲪⲎ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲈⲐⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲈⲘⲈⲚⲢⲈ ⲞⲨⲰⲚϦ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈⲚⲀⲨ ⲈϨⲀⲚⲈϨⲞⲞⲨ ⲈⲚⲀⲚⲈⲨ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤⲦⲀⲖϬ ⲞⲘⲠⲈϤⲖⲀⲤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲀ ⲠⲒⲠⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲈϤⲤⲪⲞⲦⲞⲨ ⲈϢⲦⲈⲘⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚⲞⲨⲬⲢⲞϤ
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤⲢⲒⲔⲒ ⲤⲀⲂⲞⲖ ⲘⲠⲒⲠⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲠⲒⲀⲄⲀⲐⲞⲚ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲀⲞⲨϨⲒⲢⲎⲚⲎ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲦⲈϤϬⲞϪⲒ ⲚⲤⲰⲤ
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 ϪⲈ ⲚⲈⲚⲂⲀⲖ ⲘⲠϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲤⲈϪⲞⲨϢⲦ ⲈϪⲈⲚ ⲚⲒⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲈϤⲘⲀϢϪ ⲤⲈⲢⲀⲔⲒ ⲚⲤⲀⲠⲞⲨⲦⲰⲂϨ ⲠϨⲞ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲠϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲈϪⲈⲚ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲠⲒⲠⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲒⲘ ⲈⲐⲚⲀϢϮⲘⲔⲀϨ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϢⲀⲚⲈⲢⲢⲈϤⲬⲞϨ ⲈⲠⲒⲠⲈⲐⲚⲀⲚⲈϤ.
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲒⲤϪⲈ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲠⲔⲈϬⲒⲘⲔⲀϨ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ϮⲘⲈⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲰⲞⲨⲚⲒⲀⲦⲈⲚ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲦⲞⲨϨⲞϮ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲠⲈⲢⲈⲢϨⲞϮ ϦⲀⲦⲈⲤϨⲎ ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ⲘⲠⲈⲢϢⲐⲞⲢⲦⲈⲢ.
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 ⲠϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲆⲈ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲘⲀⲦⲞⲨⲂⲞϤ ⲈϦⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲞⲂϮ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲤⲎ ⲞⲨ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲨⲀⲠⲞⲖⲞⲄⲒⲀ ⲚⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲈⲢⲈⲦⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲞⲨⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ϮϨⲈⲖⲠⲒⲤ ⲈⲦϦⲈⲚ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲘⲈⲦⲢⲈⲘⲢⲀⲨϢ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲞⲨϨⲞϮ ⲈⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲦⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲘⲘⲀⲨ ⲚⲞⲨⲤⲨⲚⲎⲆⲈⲤⲒⲤ ⲈⲚⲀⲚⲈⲤ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲞⲨϬⲒϢⲒⲠⲒ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲤⲀϪⲒ ϦⲀⲢⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲚϨⲀⲚⲤⲀⲘⲠⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈⲦϬⲒⲀⲞⲨⲰ ⲘⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚϪⲒⲚⲘⲞϢⲒ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲚⲈϤ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ.
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 ⲚⲀⲚⲈⲤ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲠⲒⲠⲈⲐⲚⲀⲚⲈϤ ⲒⲤϪⲈ ϤⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲒⲐⲈⲖⲎⲘⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϬⲒⲘⲔⲀϨ ⲈϨⲞⲦⲈ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲠⲒⲠⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲎⲒ ϨⲰϤ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲀϤⲘⲞⲨ ⲚⲞⲨⲤⲞⲠ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲪⲚⲞⲂⲒ ⲈϨⲢⲎⲒ ⲈϪⲰⲚ ⲠⲒⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲈϪⲈⲚ ⲚⲒⲞϪⲒ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈϤⲈⲚⲦⲈⲚ ⲈϦⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲈⲀϤⲘⲞⲨ ⲘⲈⲚ ϦⲈⲚⲦⲤⲀⲢⲜ ϤⲞⲚϦ ⲆⲈ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲠⲚⲀ
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 ϦⲈⲚ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲚⲒⲔⲈⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲈⲦϦⲈⲚ ⲠⲒϢⲦⲈⲔⲞ ⲀϤϢⲈ ⲚⲀϤ ⲀϤϨⲒϢⲈⲚⲚⲞⲨϤⲒ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲈⲢⲀⲦⲐⲰⲦ ⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲚⲞⲨⲤⲎⲞⲨ ϨⲞⲦⲈ ⲈⲦⲀⲤϬⲒϨⲞ ⲚϪⲈϮⲘⲈⲦⲢⲈϤⲰⲞⲨ ⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲒⲈϨⲞⲞⲨ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲰⲈ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲐⲀⲘⲒⲞ ⲚⲞⲨⲔⲨⲂⲰⲦⲞⲤ ⲐⲎ ⲈⲦⲀ ϨⲀⲚⲔⲞⲨϪⲒ ⲚⲞϨⲈⲘ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲞⲦⲤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲎⲘⲮⲨⲬⲎ ⲚⲈ.
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 ⲠⲀⲒⲢⲎϮ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϨⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϮⲚⲞⲨ ϤⲚⲀⲚⲀϨⲈⲘ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲦⲨⲠⲞⲤ ⲚⲦⲈⲞⲨⲰⲘⲤ ⲚⲞⲨⲬⲰ ⲈϦⲢⲎⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲚⲦⲈⲞⲨⲐⲰⲖⲈⲂ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲤⲀⲢⲜ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲤⲨⲚⲎⲆⲈⲤⲒⲤ ⲈⲚⲀⲚⲈⲤ ⲈⲠϪⲒⲚⲦⲰⲂϨ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲈⲚ ⲠⲦⲰⲚϤ ⲚⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲤ
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲬⲎ ⲤⲀⲞⲨⲒⲚⲀⲘ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲈⲀϤϢⲈ ⲚⲀϤ ⲈⲦⲪⲈ ⲀⲨϬⲚⲈϪⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲀϤ ⲚϪⲈϨⲀⲚⲀⲄⲄⲈⲖⲞⲤ ⲚⲈⲘ ϨⲀⲚⲈⲜⲞⲨⲤⲒⲀ ⲚⲈⲘ ϨⲀⲚϪⲞⲘ.
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
