1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Deenek, dáa bɔɔ etɔlɔɔ e bɔn, bɛ dyeebazosaŋ ɛ nɛ mɛdii mɛ ɛbel mɛ bɛnyɛɛg bɔɔ, biyɔ baagoka nɛ ɛsa ye ɛ́ mɛkpa mɛ Zɛɛb etɛɛ yenek, ye ɛ́ ààpapuuza nɛ dhiiti sonok. E sok bi di edɛɛ ye ɛ́, bi ɛ waabela tsik.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 E di'enek, Ekwyala bɛ na Dɛɛ lɛɛ ɛ náá: «Bɛ ɛ́ bi eebee dáa Ghɛŋ di ɛnyɔɛpe ɛ.»
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Tin, tiilaka pɛ daa Ghɛŋ, etɛɛ náá nyɛy ɛ di ɛkok ɛ di nɛ tsik. Nyɛy ɛ di ɛkok ɛ bɛsumel mendjaa namwas ɛ. Bela náá, Zɛɛb ɛ natɔ́ nyɛ, nyɛ naabee náá, nyɛ ɛ́ sa goŋ e mis mɛ.
4 — ausente —
5 Tin, biyo pe dáa mɛkok di nɛ tsik ɛ, beegelka ngɔt kɔ yii, deenek bi neesum ndjaa Zɛɛb. Bi aadi ɛ́ zɛɛga bɛghaa-Zɛɛb sɛ́ɛa étɛp mɛsa ɛ Zɛɛb. Tin, bi neekɛka ebuwa e Sisim ee nyɛ aamyaala nɛ yɛ, kɔ ɛsu ɛ Yezu Klisto ɛ.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Gwakeka sa ekwyala di elɛɛ ɛ:
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Tin, biyɔ bot ɛ di dum koŋ ɔ, ɛkok ɛlenek djɛ bin ɛ duu. Yɛ kabɛ bot ɛ di ààdum koŋ nɛ Zɛɛb ɔ:
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Deenek, ye bɛdhiiti edi bɛ lɛɛ ɛ náá:
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Yɛ kabɛ biyo ɔ, bi ɛ bot ɛ mbyak Zɛɛb natɔ́ ɔ, zɛɛga bɛghaa-Zɛɛb yii boo mɛkoozi, dhaad mbyak na Dɛɛ. Deenek, bi ɛ dhaad mbyak ee Zɛɛb naazesɛ́ɛ étɛp ɛlɛɛ eboo esa ee nyɛ nasa ɛ. Tin, nyɛ nawyisal bin tɔ ghooghom, étɛp ɛdjɛɛd ɛ bin pɛ gwyɛ yɛ di ɛ.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Deenek, é ghɛŋ na mwa, bi nabɛ ɛ́ ààdi bot bɛ. Nenak yak, bi moo ɛ́ bot ɛ mbyak'ɛ. Eghɛŋ na mwa, Zɛɛb nabɛ ɛ́ ààgek bin ghoŋ. Nenak yak, nyɛ eegek bin ghoŋ.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Bɛwɛn, bot ɛ wak ɛ bɛdjoŋ e mɛdjoŋ kɔ ɛko ɛ bɔs. Dum nɛ tɛp tak ɛ, mɛ di ewaab nɛ nen náá, sa biyɔ ààbet náá, mbee mɛkwosak mɛ mɛnyel men, bela ghwyil kɔ esisim bin.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Tin, pak bot ɛ di ààgu Zɛɛb ɔ, dika nɛ mbɛɛ mɛfulu. Deenek, bɛ til bin ebete náá, bi ɛpesa ɛbiyo ɔ. Bɛ waabee enɛm esa bi di esa ɛ. Tin, dwoo Zɛɛb waazyɛ ɛ́, bɛ waadjɛ nyɛ duu.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Loobaka nɛ bot djas di edi ekukuma kɔ bɔs ɔ kɔ ɛsu ɛ Ghɛŋ. Loobaka nɛ mɛkoozi etɛɛ náá, nyɛ ɛ́ di kukuma bot djas kɔ ɛko ɛ bɔs.

14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Etɛɛ náá, Zɛɛb kwyɛl ɛ náá, bi eesa enɛm esa étɛp bi neediyal endjemet e bot di elii mbɛs ɔ enuub.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Kɛka dáa bot di náá bɛ pɛka ɔ. Tin, sa mɛpɛka mɛ tak ààdi nen tyee mɛfulu mɛ ɛsyel embee etɛp'en. Bi goka ɛ́ nɛ ɛkɛ dáa ekwom e mɛsa ɛ Zɛɛb.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Duwalka bot djas kɔ ɛko ɛ bɔs. Kwyɛlka bɔn nyɛɛg bi ɛ bɛ nɔɔ di tɔ ɛdum ɛ koŋ nɛ Zɛɛb ɔ. Djɛka duu nɛ Zɛɛb, kaabka eboo mɛkoozi.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Deenek, biyɔ bot ɛ mɛsa, loobaka nɛ ekukuma bin. Tin, ààbɛ náá ye zoosik nɛ bot ɛ di nɛ mbɛɛ nɛ yii ɛtela lyem. Tin, loobaka dɔɔ nɛ bot ɛ di náá, bɛ nɛ mbee mɛfulu ɔ.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Tin, ye ɛnyɔɛpe náá, mot maad ɛzuk etɛp nyɛ di ààsa ɛ. Etɛɛ náá, nyɛ nɛ lyem kwyel nɛ Zɛɛb.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 E di'enek, ye ɛ́ yak mbi efute wɔ bela yɛ bɛ náá, wɔ zukaa ɛ kɔ ɛsu ɛ tɛp ee wɔ di egu ɛ. Yɛ bɛ náá, wɔ maad mezuk ɛ etɛɛ náá, wɔ eesa tɛtɛ mɛsa ɔ, ye ɛ́ sa di ɛnyɔɛpe e mis ɛ Zɛɛb.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Yɛ étɛp ɛzuk deenek ɛ Zɛɛb nasɛ́ɛ bin, etɛɛ náá, Klisto nyɛy ɛmet nazuk ɛ etɛp'en. Nyɛ naalik bin ndem étɛp bi needu yɛ:
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 nyɛ nabɛ ɛ́ ààsa mesyem,
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Eghɛŋ bɛ nalee nyɛ,
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 E nyel ɛmet, nyɛ naabɛp mesyem mena kɔ mɛlaaba tɔ́ nɛ yɛ: dum nɛ esyem mena eezegwyɛka, deenek étɛp mena needika nɛ tsik tɔ epiki. Tin, ye ɛ́ dum nɛ mɛpyoŋ mɛ ɛ, mena nabelaka tsik.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Deenek, bi nabɛ ɛ́ dáa etaa nazewo ze ɛ. Tin, nenak yak, bi eezebula pɛ daa mot di náá, nyɛ ɛ́ Mbaalel mɛsaa di ebaal esisim bin ɛ.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
