1 To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.
1 O céu anuncia a glória de Deus e nos mostra aquilo que as suas mãos fizeram.
2 \19:1\The heavens are sounding the glory of God; the arch of the sky makes clear the work of his hands.
2 Cada dia fala dessa glória ao dia seguinte, e cada noite repete isso à outra noite.
3 \19:2\Day after day it sends out its word, and night after night it gives knowledge.
3 Não há discurso nem palavras, e não se ouve nenhum som.
4 \19:3\There are no words or language; their voice makes no sound.
4 No entanto, a voz do céu se espalha pelo mundo inteiro, e as suas palavras alcançam a terra toda. Deus armou no céu uma barraca para o sol.
5 \19:4\Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them has he put a tent for the sun,
5 O sol sai dali todo alegre como um noivo, como um atleta ansioso para entrar numa corrida.
6 \19:5\Who is like a newly married man coming from his bride-tent, and is glad like a strong runner starting on his way.
6 O sol sai de um lado do céu e vai até o outro lado; nada pode se esconder do seu calor.
7 \19:6\His going out is from the end of the heaven, and his circle to the ends of it; there is nothing which is not open to his heat.
7 A lei do Senhor é perfeita e nos dá novas forças. Os seus conselhos merecem confiança e dão sabedoria às pessoas simples.
8 \19:7\The law of the Lord is good, giving new life to the soul: the witness of the Lord is certain, giving wisdom to the foolish.
8 Os ensinos do Senhor são certos e alegram o coração. Os seus ensinamentos são claros e iluminam a nossa mente.
9 \19:8\The orders of the Lord are right, making glad the heart: the rule of the Lord is holy, giving light to the eyes.
9 O temor ao Senhor é bom e dura para sempre. Os seus julgamentos são justos e sempre se baseiam na verdade.
10 \19:9\The fear of the Lord is clean, and has no end; the decisions of the Lord are true and full of righteousness.
10 Os seus ensinos são mais preciosos do que o ouro, até mesmo do que muito ouro fino. São mais doces do que o mel, mais doces até do que o mel mais puro.
11 \19:10\More to be desired are they than gold, even than much shining gold; sweeter than the dropping honey.
11 Senhor, os teus ensinamentos dão sabedoria a mim, teu e eu sou recompensado quando lhes obedeço.
12 \19:11\By them is your servant made conscious of danger, and in keeping them there is great reward.
12 Quem pode ver os seus próprios erros? Purifica-me, Senhor, das faltas que cometo sem perceber.
13 \19:12\Who has full knowledge of his errors? make me clean from secret evil.
13 Livra-me também dos pecados que cometo por vontade própria; não permitas que eles me dominem. Assim serei uma pessoa direita e ficarei livre do grave pecado da desobediência a ti.
14 \19:13\Keep your servant back from sins of pride; let them not have rule over me: then will I be upright and free from great sin.
14 Que as minhas palavras e os meus pensamentos sejam aceitáveis a ti, ó minha rocha e meu defensor!
15 \19:14\Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing in your eyes, O Lord, my strength and my salvation.
