¹ To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.

¹ Os céus proclamam a glória de Deus, e o firmamento anuncia as obras das suas mãos.

² \19:1\The heavens are sounding the glory of God; the arch of the sky makes clear the work of his hands.

² Um dia discursa a outro dia, e uma noite revela conhecimento a outra noite.

³ \19:2\Day after day it sends out its word, and night after night it gives knowledge.

³ Não há linguagem, nem há palavras, e deles não se ouve nenhum som;

⁴ \19:3\There are no words or language; their voice makes no sound.

⁴ no entanto, por toda a terra se faz ouvir a sua voz, e as suas palavras, até aos confins do mundo. Aí, pôs uma tenda para o sol,

⁵ \19:4\Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them has he put a tent for the sun,

⁵ o qual, como noivo que sai dos seus aposentos, se regozija como herói, a percorrer o seu caminho.

⁶ \19:5\Who is like a newly married man coming from his bride-tent, and is glad like a strong runner starting on his way.

⁶ Principia numa extremidade dos céus, e até à outra vai o seu percurso; e nada refoge ao seu calor.

⁷ \19:6\His going out is from the end of the heaven, and his circle to the ends of it; there is nothing which is not open to his heat.

⁷ A lei do Senhor é perfeita e restaura a alma; o testemunho do e dá sabedoria aos símplices.

⁸ \19:7\The law of the Lord is good, giving new life to the soul: the witness of the Lord is certain, giving wisdom to the foolish.

⁸ Os preceitos do Senhor são retos e alegram o coração; o mandamento do e ilumina os olhos.

⁹ \19:8\The orders of the Lord are right, making glad the heart: the rule of the Lord is holy, giving light to the eyes.

⁹ O temor do Senhor é límpido e permanece para sempre; os juízos do e todos igualmente, justos.

¹⁰ \19:9\The fear of the Lord is clean, and has no end; the decisions of the Lord are true and full of righteousness.

¹⁰ São mais desejáveis do que ouro, mais do que muito ouro depurado; e são mais doces do que o mel e o destilar dos favos.

¹¹ \19:10\More to be desired are they than gold, even than much shining gold; sweeter than the dropping honey.

¹¹ Além disso, por eles se admoesta o teu servo; em os guardar, há grande recompensa.

¹² \19:11\By them is your servant made conscious of danger, and in keeping them there is great reward.

¹² Quem há que possa discernir as próprias faltas? Absolve-me das que me são ocultas.

¹³ \19:12\Who has full knowledge of his errors? make me clean from secret evil.

¹³ Também da soberba guarda o teu servo, que ela não me domine; então, serei irrepreensível e ficarei livre de grande transgressão.

¹⁴ \19:13\Keep your servant back from sins of pride; let them not have rule over me: then will I be upright and free from great sin.

¹⁴ As palavras dos meus lábios e o meditar do meu coração sejam agradáveis na tua presença,

¹⁵ \19:14\Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing in your eyes, O Lord, my strength and my salvation.
