¹ Why do the nations rage, and the peoples meditate vain things (LXX/NT)?

¹ Por que se amotinam as nações, e os povos imaginam coisas vãs?

² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against LORD, and against his anointed, [saying],

² Os reis da terra se levantam, e os príncipes juntos se mancomunam contra o Senhor e contra o seu ungido, dizendo:

³ Let us break their bonds apart, and cast away their cords from us.

³ Rompamos as suas ataduras e sacudamos de nós as suas cordas.

⁴ He who sits in the heavens will laugh. LORD will have them in derision.

⁴ Aquele que habita nos céus se rirá; o Senhor zombará deles.

⁵ Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and vex them in his great displeasure.

⁵ Então, lhes falará na sua ira e no seu furor os confundirá.

⁶ Yet I have set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

⁶ Eu, porém, ungi o meu Rei sobre o meu santo monte Sião.

⁷ I will tell of the decree. LORD said to me, Thou are my son, this day I have begotten thee.

⁷ Recitarei o decreto: O Senhor me disse: Tu és meu Filho; eu hoje te gerei.

⁸ Ask of me, and I will give [thee] the nations for thine inheritance, and the outermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

⁸ Pede-me, e eu te darei as nações por herança e os confins da terra por tua possessão.

⁹ Thou shall break them with a rod of iron, thou shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

⁹ Tu os esmigalharás com uma vara de ferro; tu os despedaçarás como a um vaso de oleiro.

¹⁰ Now therefore be wise, O ye kings. Be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

¹⁰ Agora, pois, ó reis, sede prudentes; deixai-vos instruir, juízes da terra.

¹¹ Serve LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

¹¹ Servi ao Senhor com temor e alegrai-vos com tremor.

¹² Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.

¹² Beijai o Filho, para que se não ire, e pereçais no caminho, quando em breve se inflamar a sua ira. Bem-aventurados todos aqueles que nele confiam.
