1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, hath a word of Jehovah been unto Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, the prophet, saying:
1 No oitavo mês do segundo ano de Dario, veio a palavra do Senhor ao profeta Zacarias, filho de Baraquias, filho de Ido, dizendo:
2 `Jehovah was wroth against your fathers -- wrath!
2 O Senhor se irou em extremo contra vossos pais.
3 And thou hast said unto them, Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, turn back unto Me, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, And I turn back unto you, said Jehovah of Hosts.
3 Portanto, dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Tornai-vos para mim, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, e eu me tornarei para vós outros, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.
4 Ye shall not be as your fathers, To whom the former prophets called, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Turn back I pray you, From your evil ways and from your evil doings, And they did not hearken, Nor attend to Me -- an affirmation of Jehovah.
4 Não sejais como vossos pais, a quem clamavam os primeiros profetas, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Convertei-vos, agora, dos vossos maus caminhos e das vossas más obras; mas não ouviram, nem me atenderam, diz o Senhor .
5 Your fathers -- where [are] they? And the prophets -- to the age do they live?
5 Vossos pais, onde estão eles? E os profetas, acaso, vivem para sempre?
6 Only, My words, and My statutes, That I commanded My servants the prophets, Have they not overtaken your fathers, And they turn back and say: As Jehovah of Hosts designed to do to us, According to our ways, and according to our doings, So He hath done to us?`
6 Contudo, as minhas palavras e os meus estatutos, que eu prescrevi aos profetas, meus servos, não alcançaram a vossos pais? Sim, estes se arrependeram e disseram: Como o Senhor dos Exércitos fez tenção de nos tratar, segundo os nossos caminhos e segundo as nossas obras, assim ele nos fez.
7 On the twenty and fourth day of the eleventh month, (it [is] the month of Sebat,) in the second year of Darius, hath a word of Jehovah been unto Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, the prophet, saying:
7 No vigésimo quarto dia do mês undécimo, que é o mês de sebate, no segundo ano de Dario, veio a palavra do Senhor ao profeta Zacarias, filho de Baraquias, filho de Ido.
8 I have seen by night, and lo, one riding on a red horse, and he is standing between the myrtles that [are] in the shade, and behind him [are] horses, red, bay, and white.
8 Tive de noite uma visão, e eis um homem montado num cavalo vermelho; estava parado entre as murteiras que havia num vale profundo; atrás dele se achavam cavalos vermelhos, baios e brancos.
9 And I say, `What [are] these, my lord?` And the messenger who is speaking with me saith unto me, `I -- I do shew thee what these [are].`
9 Então, perguntei: meu senhor, quem são estes? Respondeu-me o anjo que falava comigo: Eu te mostrarei quem são eles.
10 And the one who is standing between the myrtles doth answer and say, `These [are] they whom Jehovah hath sent to walk up and down in the land.`
10 Então, respondeu o homem que estava entre as murteiras e disse: São os que o Senhor tem enviado para percorrerem a terra.
11 And they answer the messenger of Jehovah who is standing between the myrtles, and say, `We have walked up and down in the land, and lo, all the land is sitting still, and at rest.`
11 Eles responderam ao anjo do Senhor , que estava entre as murteiras, e disseram: Nós já percorremos a terra, e eis que toda a terra está, agora, repousada e tranquila.
12 And the messenger of Jehovah answereth and saith, `Jehovah of Hosts! till when dost Thou not pity Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, that Thou hast abhorred these seventy years?`
12 Então, o anjo do Senhor respondeu: Ó Senhor dos Exércitos, até quando não terás compaixão de Jerusalém e das cidades de Judá, contra as quais estás indignado faz já setenta anos?
13 And Jehovah answereth the messenger, who is speaking with me, good words, comfortable words.
13 Respondeu o Senhor com palavras boas, palavras consoladoras, ao anjo que falava comigo.
14 And the messenger who is speaking with me, saith unto me, `Call, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: I have been zealous for Jerusalem, and for Zion [with] great zeal.
14 E este me disse: Clama: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Com grande empenho, estou zelando por Jerusalém e por Sião.
15 And [with] great wrath I am wroth against the nations who are at ease, For I was a little wroth, and they assisted -- for evil.
15 E, com grande indignação, estou irado contra as nações que vivem confiantes; porque eu estava um pouco indignado, e elas agravaram o mal.
16 Therefore, thus said Jehovah: I have turned to Jerusalem with mercies, My house is built in it, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, And a line is stretched over Jerusalem.
16 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor : Voltei-me para Jerusalém com misericórdia; a minha casa nela será edificada, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, e o cordel será estendido sobre Jerusalém.
17 Again call, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Again do my cities overflow from good, And Jehovah hath again comforted Zion, And He hath fixed again on Jerusalem.`
17 Clama outra vez, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: As minhas cidades ainda transbordarão de bens; o Senhor ainda consolará a Sião e ainda escolherá a Jerusalém.
18 And I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, four horns.
18 Levantei os olhos e vi, e eis quatro chifres.
19 And I say unto the messenger who is speaking with me, `What [are] these?` And he saith unto me, `These [are] the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.`
19 Perguntei ao anjo que falava comigo: que é isto? Ele me respondeu: São os chifres que dispersaram a Judá, a Israel e a Jerusalém.
20 And Jehovah doth shew me four artizans.
20 O Senhor me mostrou quatro ferreiros.
21 And I say, `What [are] these coming in to do?` And He speaketh, saying: `These [are] the horns that have scattered Judah, so that no one hath lifted up his head, and these come in to trouble them, to cast down the horns of the nations who are lifting up a horn against the land of Judah -- to scatter it.`
21 Então, perguntei: que vêm fazer estes? Ele respondeu: Aqueles são os chifres que dispersaram a Judá, de maneira que ninguém pode levantar a cabeça; estes ferreiros, pois, vieram para os amedrontar, para derribar os chifres das nações que levantaram o seu poder contra a terra de Judá, para a espalhar.
