1 To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David. I have diligently expected Jehovah, And He inclineth to me, and heareth my cry,
1 Esperei com paciência pelo S enhor ; ele se voltou para mim e ouviu meu clamor.
2 And He doth cause me to come up From a pit of desolation -- from mire of mud, And He raiseth up on a rock my feet, He is establishing my steps.
2 Tirou-me de um poço de desespero, de um atoleiro de lama. Pôs meus pés sobre uma rocha e firmou meus passos.
3 And He putteth in my mouth a new song, `Praise to our God.` Many do see and fear, and trust in Jehovah.
3 Deu-me um novo cântico para entoar, um hino de louvor a nosso Deus. Muitos verão o que ele fez, temerão e confiarão no S
4 O the happiness of the man Who hath made Jehovah his trust, And hath not turned unto the proud, And those turning aside to lies.
4 Como é feliz o que confia no S enhor , que não depende dos arrogantes, nem dos que se desviam para a mentira!
5 Much hast Thou done, Jehovah my God; Thy wonders and Thy thoughts toward us, There is none to arrange unto Thee, I declare and speak: They have been more than to be numbered.
5 S enhor , meu Deus, tu nos fizeste muitas maravilhas, e teus planos para nós são tantos que não se pode contá-los; não há ninguém igual a ti. Se eu tentasse relatar todos os teus feitos, jamais chegaria ao fim.
6 Sacrifice and present Thou hast not desired, Ears Thou hast prepared for me, Burnt and sin-offering Thou hast not asked.
6 Não tens prazer em ofertas nem em sacrifícios; agora que me fizeste ouvir, compreendo: tu não exiges holocaustos nem ofertas pelo pecado.
7 Then said I, `Lo, I have come,` In the roll of the book it is written of me,
7 Então eu disse: “Aqui estou, conforme está escrito a meu respeito no livro.
8 To do Thy pleasure, my God, I have delighted, And Thy law [is] within my heart.
8 Tenho prazer em fazer tua vontade, meu Deus, pois a tua lei está em meu coração”.
9 I have proclaimed tidings of righteousness In the great assembly, lo, my lips I restrain not, O Jehovah, Thou hast known.
9 Anunciei a tua justiça a toda a comunidade; não tive medo de falar, como bem sabes, ó S
10 Thy righteousness I have not concealed In the midst of my heart, Thy faithfulness and Thy salvation I have told, I have not hidden Thy kindness and Thy truth, To the great assembly.
10 Não escondi em meu coração a tua justiça; falei de tua fidelidade e de tua salvação. Proclamei a toda a comunidade o teu amor e a tua verdade.
11 Thou, O Jehovah, restrainest not Thy mercies from me, Thy kindness and Thy truth do continually keep me.
11 S enhor , não retenhas de mim a tua compaixão; que o teu amor e a tua verdade sempre me protejam.
12 For compassed me have evils innumerable, Overtaken me have mine iniquities, And I have not been able to see; They have been more than the hairs of my head, And my heart hath forsaken me.
12 Pois as dificuldades me cercam; são tantas que não se pode contá-las. Meus pecados se acumularam de tal modo que não consigo enxergar saída. São mais numerosos que os cabelos de minha cabeça; por isso, perdi todo o ânimo.
13 Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me, O Jehovah, for my help make haste.
13 Por favor, S enhor , livra-me! Vem depressa, S
14 They are ashamed and confounded together, Who are seeking my soul to destroy it, They are turned backward, And are ashamed, who are desiring my evil.
14 Sejam envergonhados e humilhados os que procuram me matar. Voltem atrás em desonra os que se alegram com a minha desgraça.
15 They are desolate because of their shame, Who are saying to me, `Aha, aha.`
15 Recuem horrorizados com a própria vergonha, pois disseram: “Ah! Agora o pegamos!”.
16 All seeking Thee rejoice and are glad in Thee, Those loving Thy salvation say continually, `Jehovah is magnified.`
16 Alegrem-se e exultem, porém, todos que te buscam. Todos que amam tua salvação, digam sempre: “Grande é o S
17 And I [am] poor and needy, The Lord doth devise for me. My help and my deliverer [art] Thou, O my God, tarry Thou not.
17 Quanto a mim, pobre e aflito, que o Senhor me mantenha em seus pensamentos. Tu és meu auxílio e minha salvação; ó meu Deus, não te demores!
