1 `Rejoice not, O Israel, be not joyful like the peoples, For thou hast gone a-whoring from thy God, Thou hast loved a gift near all floors of corn.
1 “Não se alegre, Israel, nem exulte como os outros povos. Porque você se prostituiu, abandonando o seu Deus. Você gostou de receber o pagamento de prostituta em todas as eiras de cereais.
2 Floor and wine-press do not delight them, And new wine doth fail in her,
2 A eira e o lagar não os alimentarão; e o vinho novo lhes faltará.
3 They do not abide in the land of Jehovah, And turned back hath Ephraim [to] Egypt, And in Asshur an unclean thing they eat.
3 Não permanecerão na terra do Efraim voltará para o Egito, e na Assíria comerão comida impura.”
4 They pour not out wine to Jehovah, Nor are they sweet to Him, Their sacrifices [are] as bread of mourners to them, All eating it are unclean: For their bread [is] for themselves, It doth not come into the house of Jehovah.
4 “Não oferecerão libações de vinho ao nem os seus sacrifícios lhe serão agradáveis. O pão que comerem será como pão de pranteadores, e todos os que dele comerem ficarão impuros. Esse pão será exclusivamente para eles; não entrará na Casa do
5 What do ye at the day appointed? And at the day of Jehovah`s festival?
5 “O que vocês farão no dia da solenidade e no dia da festa do
6 For, lo, they have gone because of destruction, Egypt gathereth them, Moph burieth them, The desirable things of their silver, Nettles possess them -- a thorn [is] in their tents.
6 Porque eis que eles fugiram por causa da destruição. O Egito os reunirá, e Mênfis os sepultará. Os seus tesouros de prata ficarão para as urtigas; espinhos tomarão conta das suas moradas.”
7 Come in have the days of inspection, Come in have the days of recompence, Israel doth know! a fool [is] the prophet, Mad [is] the man of the Spirit, Because of the abundance of thine iniquity, And great [is] the hatred.
7 “Chegaram os dias do castigo, chegaram os dias da retribuição. Israel ficará sabendo. O profeta é um tolo, e o homem de espírito é um louco, por causa da abundância da sua iniquidade, ó Israel, e do seu imenso ódio.
8 Ephraim is looking [away] from My God, The prophet! a snare of a fowler [is] over all his ways, Hatred [is] in the house of his God.
8 O profeta é sentinela contra Efraim, ao lado de meu Deus, mas o laço do passarinheiro se encontra em todos os seus caminhos, e inimizade no templo do seu Deus.
9 They have gone deep -- have done corruptly, As [in] the days of Gibeah, He doth remember their iniquity, He doth inspect their sins.
9 Eles se afundaram na corrupção, como nos dias de Gibeá. O das suas injustiças e castigará os pecados que eles cometeram.”
10 As grapes in a wilderness I found Israel, As the first-fruit in a fig-tree, at its beginning, I have seen your fathers, They -- they have gone in [to] Baal-Peor, And are separated to a shameful thing, And are become abominable like their love.
10 “Encontrei Israel como uvas no deserto; vi os pais de vocês como as primícias da figueira nova. Mas eles foram para Baal-Peor, consagraram-se à vergonhosa idolatria e se tornaram tão abomináveis como aquilo que amaram.
11 Ephraim [is] as a fowl, Fly away doth their honour, without birth, And without womb, and without conception.
11 Quanto a Efraim, a sua glória voará como ave; não haverá nascimento, nem gravidez, nem concepção.
12 For though they nourish their sons, I have made them childless -- without man, Surely also, wo to them, when I turn aside from them.
12 Ainda que venham a criar os seus filhos, eu os privarei deles, para que não fique nem um sequer. Ai deles, quando deles eu me afastar!
13 Ephraim! when I have looked to the rock, Is planted in comeliness, And Ephraim [is] to bring out unto a slayer his sons.
13 Aos meus olhos, Efraim era como Tiro, plantado num lugar agradável; mas Efraim levará os seus filhos ao matador.
14 Give to them, Jehovah -- what dost Thou give? Give to them miscarrying womb, and dry breasts.
14 Dá-lhes, ó Senhor ! O que lhes darás? Dá-lhes um ventre estéril e seios sem leite.”
15 All their evil [is] in Gilgal, Surely there I have hated them, Because of the evil of their doings, Out of My house I do drive them, I add not to love them, all their heads [are] apostates.
15 “Toda a maldade deles se acha em Gilgal; foi ali que comecei a odiá-los. Por causa da maldade das suas ações, eu os expulsarei da minha casa. Não os amarei mais. Todos os seus príncipes são rebeldes.”
16 Ephraim hath been smitten, Their root hath dried up, fruit they yield not, Yea, though they bring forth, I have put to death the desired of their womb.
16 “Efraim está ferido. Secaram-se as suas raízes; não dará fruto. E mesmo que as mulheres voltem a dar à luz, eu matarei esses filhos queridos.
17 Reject them doth my God, Because they have not hearkened to Him, And they are wanderers among nations!
17 O meu Deus os rejeitará, porque não lhe dão ouvidos; e andarão sem rumo entre as nações.”
