Neemias 9

¹ And in the twenty and fourth day of this month have the sons of Israel been gathered, with fasting, and with sackcloth, and earth upon them;

¹ Ora, no vigésimo quarto dia deste mês, os filhos de Israel estavam reunidos em jejum, e com roupas de saco, e terra sobre eles.

² and the seed of Israel are separated from all sons of a stranger, and stand and confess concerning their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers,

² E a semente de Israel separou-se de todos os estrangeiros, puseram-se em pé e confessaram os seus pecados, e as iniquidades dos seus pais.

³ and rise up on their station, and read in the book of the law of Jehovah their God a fourth of the day, and a fourth they are confessing and bowing themselves to Jehovah their God.

³ E eles se puseram em pé no seu caminho, e leram o livro da lei do SENHOR seu Deus uma quarta parte do dia; e na outra quarta parte eles confessaram, e adoraram o SENHOR seu Deus.

⁴ And there stand up on the ascent, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, Chenani, and they cry with a loud voice unto Jehovah their God.

⁴ Então, se levantaram sobre os degraus, dos levitas: Jesuá, e Bani, Cadmiel, Sebanias, Buni, Serebias, Bani e Quenani, e clamaram com voz alta ao SENHOR seu Deus.

⁵ And the Levites say, [even] Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, Pethahiah, `Rise, bless Jehovah your God, from the age unto the age, and they bless the name of Thine honour that [is] exalted above all blessing and praise.

⁵ Então, os levitas, Jesuá, e Cadmiel, Bani, Hasabneias, Serebias, Hodias, Sebanias e Petaías, disseram: Levantai-vos e bendizei ao SENHOR vosso Deus para todo o sempre; e bendito seja o teu glorioso nome, o qual é exaltado acima de toda bênção e louvor.

⁶ Thou [art] He, O Jehovah, Thyself -- Thou hast made the heavens, the heavens of the heavens, and all their host, the earth and all that [are] on it, the seas and all that [are] in them, and Thou art keeping all of them alive, and the host of the heavens to Thee are bowing themselves.

⁶ Tu, só tu, és SENHOR; tu fizeste o céu, o céu dos céus, com todo o seu exército, a terra e todas as coisas que nela estão, os mares, e tudo o que nele está, e tu a todos preservas; e o exército do céu te adora.

⁷ `Thou [art] He, O Jehovah God, who didst fix on Abraham, and didst bring him out from Ur of the Chaldeans, and didst make his name Abraham,

⁷ Tu és o SENHOR, o Deus que escolheu Abrão, e o tiraste de Ur dos caldeus, e lhe deste o nome de Abraão;

⁸ and didst find his heart stedfast before Thee, so as to make with him the covenant, to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give [it] to his seed. `And Thou dost establish Thy words, for Thou [art] righteous,

⁸ e achaste o seu coração fiel diante de ti, e com ele fizeste um pacto para dares à sua semente a terra dos cananeus, dos heteus, dos amorreus, e dos ferezeus, e dos jebuseus, e dos girgaseus, e cumpriste as tuas palavras; porque tu és justo.

⁹ and dost see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and their cry hast heard by the sea of Suph,

⁹ E viste a aflição dos nossos pais no Egito, e ouviste o seu clamor junto ao mar Vermelho;

¹⁰ and dost give signs and wonders on Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land, for Thou hast known that they have acted proudly against them, and Thou makest to Thee a name as [at] this day.

¹⁰ e mostraste sinais e maravilhas sobre Faraó, e sobre todos os seus servos, e sobre todo o povo da sua terra; pois tu sabias que eles agiam soberbamente contra eles. Assim, conquistaste para ti um nome, como é neste dia.

¹¹ And the sea Thou hast cleaved before them, and they pass over into the midst of the sea on the dry land, and their pursuers Thou hast cast into the depths, as a stone, into the strong waters.

¹¹ E dividiste o mar diante deles, de modo que seguiram pelo meio do mar em terra seca; e os seus perseguidores lançaste tu nas profundezas, como uma pedra nas águas poderosas.

¹² And by a pillar of cloud Thou hast led them by day, and by a pillar of fire by night, to lighten to them the way in which they go.

¹² Além disso, tu os guiavas de dia com uma coluna de nuvem; e à noite com uma coluna de fogo, para dá-los luz no caminho no qual deveriam seguir.

¹³ `And on mount Sinai Thou hast come down, even to speak with them from the heavens, and Thou dost give to them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commands.

¹³ Tu desceste também sobre o monte Sinai, e do céu falaste com eles, e deste-lhes justos juízos, e leis verdadeiras, bons estatutos e mandamentos;

¹⁴ And Thy holy sabbath Thou hast made known to them, and commands, and statutes, and law, Thou hast commanded for them, by the hand of Moses Thy servant;

¹⁴ e fizeste-lhes conhecido o teu santo shabat, e lhes ordenaste preceitos, estatutos e leis, pela mão de Moisés, o teu servo;

¹⁵ and bread from the heavens Thou hast given to them for their hunger, and water from a rock hast brought out to them for their thirst, and dost say to them to go in to possess the land that Thou hast lifted up Thy hand to give to them.

¹⁵ e deste-lhes pão do céu para a sua fome, e extraíste para eles água da rocha para a sua sede, e lhes prometeste que entrassem para possuírem a terra que com juramento lhes tinhas prometido dar.

¹⁶ `And they and our fathers have acted proudly, and harden their neck, and have not hearkened unto Thy commands,

¹⁶ Todavia, eles e os nossos pais agiram soberbamente, e endureceram o seu pescoço, e não atentaram aos teus mandamentos,

¹⁷ yea, they refuse to hearken, and have not remembered Thy wonders that Thou hast done with them, and harden their neck and appoint a head, to turn back to their service, in their rebellion; and Thou [art] a God of pardons, gracious, and merciful, long-suffering, and abundant in kindness, and hast not forsaken them.

¹⁷ e se recusaram a obedecer, nem atentaram para as maravilhas que tu fizeste no meio deles; mas endureceram o seu pescoço, e na sua rebelião, indicaram um capitão para retornarem à servidão; mas tu és um Deus pronto a perdoar, gracioso e misericordioso, tardio em irar-se, e de grande bondade, e não os abandonastes.

¹⁸ `Also, when they have made to themselves a molten calf, and say, this [is] thy god that brought thee up out of Egypt, and do great despisings,

¹⁸ Sim, quando fizeram para si um bezerro fundido, e disseram: Este é o teu Deus que te tirou do Egito, e tinham cometido grandes provocações;

¹⁹ and Thou, in Thine abundant mercies, hast not forsaken them in the wilderness -- the pillar of the cloud hath not turned aside from off them by day, to lead them in the way, and the pillar of the fire by night, to give light to them and the way in which they go.

¹⁹ todavia, tu nas tuas múltiplas misericórdias não os abandonastes no deserto; a coluna de nuvem não se apartou deles de dia, para guiá-los no caminho; nem a coluna de fogo à noite, para mostrar-lhes a luz, e o caminho no qual deveriam seguir.

²⁰ `And Thy good Spirit Thou hast given, to cause them to act wisely; and Thy manna Thou hast not withheld from their mouth, and water Thou hast given to them for their thirst,

²⁰ Deste também o teu bom espírito para instruí-los, e não retiraste o teu maná da sua boca, e deste-lhes água para a sua sede.

²¹ and forty years Thou hast nourished them in a wilderness; they have not lacked; their garments have not worn out, and their feet have not swelled.

²¹ Sim, quarenta anos os sustentaste no deserto, de modo que nada lhes faltou; as suas roupas não se envelheceram, e os seus pés não incharam.

²² `And Thou givest to them kingdoms, and peoples, and dost apportion them to the corner, and they possess the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.

²² Além disso, entregaste a eles reinos e nações, e dividiste-os em cantos; assim possuíram a terra de Seom, e a terra do rei de Hesbom, e a terra de Ogue, rei de Basã.

²³ And their sons Thou hast multiplied as the stars of the heavens, and bringest them in unto the land that Thou hast said to their fathers to go in to possess.

²³ Também multiplicaste os seus filhos como as estrelas do céu, e os trouxeste para dentro da terra, acerca da qual havias prometido aos seus pais, para que pudessem entrar para possuí-la.

²⁴ `And the sons come in, and possess the land, and Thou humblest before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and givest them into their hand, and their kings, and the peoples of the land, to do with them according to their pleasure.

²⁴ Assim, entraram os filhos e possuíram a terra, e tu subjugaste diante deles os habitantes da terra, os cananeus, e lhes entregaste nas suas mãos, com os seus reis, e o povo da terra, para que eles pudessem fazer deles como quisessem.

²⁵ And they capture fenced cities, and fat ground, and possess houses full of all good, digged-wells, vineyards, and olive-yards, and fruit-trees in abundance, and they eat, and are satisfied, and become fat, and delight themselves in Thy great goodness.

²⁵ E eles tomaram cidades fortes, e uma terra gorda, e possuíram casas cheias de todos os bens, poços cavados, vinhedos, e olivais, e árvores frutíferas em abundância; assim, comeram e se fartaram, e engordaram, e se deleitaram na tua grande bondade.

²⁶ `And they are disobedient, and rebel against Thee, and cast Thy law behind their back, and Thy prophets they have slain, who testified against them, to bring them back unto Thee, and they do great despisings,

²⁶ Todavia, eles foram desobedientes, e se rebelaram contra ti, e lançaram as suas leis para trás das suas costas, e mataram os teus profetas que testificavam contra eles para convertê-los a ti, e cometeram grandes provocações.

²⁷ and Thou givest them into the hand of their adversaries, and they distress them, and in the time of their distress they cry unto Thee, and Thou, from the heavens, dost hear, and, according to Thine abundant mercies, dost give to them saviours, and they save them out of the hand of their adversaries.

²⁷ Por isso, tu os entregaste na mão dos seus inimigos, que os atormentaram; e no tempo da sua tribulação, quando eles clamaram a ti, tu os ouviste do céu; e de acordo com as tuas múltiplas misericórdias deste a eles libertadores, que os salvaram da mão dos seus inimigos.

²⁸ `And when they have rest, they turn back to do evil before Thee, and Thou dost leave them in the hand of their enemies, and they rule over them; and they turn back, and call Thee, and Thou from the heavens dost hear, and dost deliver them, according to Thy mercies, many times,

²⁸ Porém, tendo alcançado repouso, fizeram o mal novamente diante de ti; portanto tu os deixaste na mão dos seus inimigos, de modo que tiveram o domínio sobre eles; todavia, quando eles retornaram, e clamaram a ti, tu os ouviste do céu; e muitas vezes tu os livraste, segundo as tuas misericórdias;

²⁹ and dost testify against them, to bring them back unto Thy law; and they -- they have acted proudly, and have not hearkened to Thy commands, and against Thy judgments have sinned, -- which man doth and hath lived in them -- and they give a refractory shoulder, and their neck have hardened, and have not hearkened.

²⁹ e testificaste contra eles, para os fazerdes voltar para a tua lei; contudo, eles agiram soberbamente, e não atentaram aos teus mandamentos, mas pecaram contra os teus juízos (pelos quais, se um homem praticar, viverá por eles); e encolheram os ombros, e endureceram o pescoço, e não quiseram ouvir.

³⁰ `And Thou drawest over them many years, and testifiest against them by Thy Spirit, by the hand of Thy prophets, and they have not given ear, and Thou dost give them into the hand of peoples of the lands,

³⁰ Todavia, muitos anos tu os aturaste, e testificaste contra eles pelo teu Espírito nos teus profetas; contudo eles não quiseram dar ouvidos; por isso tu os deste nas mãos dos povos das terras.

³¹ and in Thine abundant mercies Thou hast not made them a consumption, nor hast forsaken them; for a God, gracious and merciful, [art] Thou.

³¹ Contudo, por causa das tuas grandes misericórdias tu não os consumiste por completo, nem os abandonaste; porque tu és um Deus gracioso e misericordioso.

³² `And now, O our God -- God, the great, the mighty, and the fearful, keeping the covenant and the kindness -- let not all the travail that hath found us be little before Thee, for our kings, for our heads, and for our priests, and for our prophets, and for our fathers, and for all Thy people, from the days of the kings of Asshur unto this day;

³² Agora, portanto, Deus nosso, o grande, o poderoso, e o terrível Deus, que guardas o pacto e a misericórdia, não permitas que toda a tribulação pareça pouca diante de ti, que veio sobre nós, sobre os nossos reis, sobre os nossos príncipes, e sobre os nossos sacerdotes, e sobre os nossos profetas, e sobre os nossos pais, e sobre todo o teu povo, desde o tempo dos reis da Assíria até este dia.

³³ and Thou [art] righteous concerning all that hath come upon us, for truth Thou hast done, and we have done wickedly;

³³ Não obstante, tu és justo em tudo que tem vindo sobre nós, pois tu tens agido retamente, mas nós temos agido iniquamente;

³⁴ and our kings, our heads, our priests, and our fathers, have not done Thy law, nor attended unto Thy commands, and to Thy testimonies, that Thou hast testified against them;

³⁴ tampouco têm os nossos reis, os nossos príncipes, os nossos sacerdotes, nem os nossos pais guardado a tua lei, nem atentado aos teus mandamentos e aos teus testemunhos, com os quais testificaste contra eles.

³⁵ and they, in their kingdom, and in Thine abundant goodness, that Thou hast given to them, and in the land, the large and the fat, that Thou hast set before them, have not served Thee, nor turned back from their evil doings.

³⁵ Porquanto eles não têm te servido no seu reino, e na tua grande bondade que tu lhes deste, e na vasta e gorda terra que lhes deste, tampouco se desviaram das suas obras iníquas.

³⁶ `Lo, we -- to-day -- [are] servants, and the land that Thou hast given to our fathers, to eat its fruit and its good -- lo, we [are] servants on it,

³⁶ Eis que somos servos neste dia, e quanto à terra que deste aos nossos pais para dela comer o seu fruto e o seu bem, eis que somos nela servos;

³⁷ and its increase it is multiplying to the kings whom Thou hast set over us in our sins; and over our bodies they are ruling, and over our cattle, according to their pleasure, and we [are] in great distress.

³⁷ e ela produz muito incremento aos reis que puseste sobre nós por causa dos nossos pecados; além disso, eles têm domínio sobre os nossos corpos, e sobre o nosso gado, como lhes apraz, e nós estamos em grande aflição.

³⁸ And for all this we are making a stedfast covenant, and are writing, and over him who is sealed [are] our heads, our Levites, our priests.`

³⁸ E por causa de tudo isso fazemos um firme pacto e o escrevemos; e os nossos príncipes, levitas, e sacerdotes o selam.
