1 Thus said Jehovah, `Go down [to] the house of the king of Judah, and thou hast spoken there this word, and hast said,
1 Assim diz o Senhor : Desce à casa do rei de Judá, e anuncia ali esta palavra,
2 Hear a word of Jehovah, O king of Judah, who art sitting on the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people, who are coming in at these gates,
2 e dize: Ouve a palavra do Senhor , ó rei de Judá, que te assentas no trono de Davi; tu, e os teus servos, e o teu povo, que entrais por estas portas.
3 Thus said Jehovah: Do ye judgment and righteousness, And deliver the plundered from the hand of the oppressor, And sojourner, orphan, and widow, ye do not oppress nor wrong, And innocent blood ye do not shed in this place.
3 Assim diz o Senhor : Exercei o juízo e a justiça e livrai o espoliado da mão do opressor; e não oprimais ao estrangeiro, nem ao órfão, nem à viúva; não façais violência, nem derrameis sangue inocente neste lugar.
4 For, if ye certainly do this thing, Then come in by the gates of this house Have kings sitting for David on his throne, Riding on chariot, and on horses, He, and his servants, and his people.
4 Porque, se, deveras, cumprirdes esta palavra, entrarão pelas portas desta casa os reis que se assentarão no lugar de Davi sobre o seu trono, em carros e montados em cavalos, eles, e os seus servos, e o seu povo.
5 And if ye do not hear these words, By myself I have sworn -- an affirmation of Jehovah, That this house is for a desolation.
5 Mas, se não derdes ouvidos a estas palavras, por mim mesmo tenho jurado, diz o Senhor , que esta casa se tornará em assolação.
6 For thus said Jehovah, Concerning the house of the king of Judah: Gilead [art] thou to Me -- head of Lebanon, If not -- I make thee a wilderness, Cities not inhabited.
6 Porque assim diz o Senhor acerca da casa do rei de Judá: Tu és para mim Gileade e a cabeça do Líbano; mas por certo que farei de ti um deserto e cidades desabitadas.
7 And I have separated for thee destroyers, Each with his weapons, And they have cut down the choice of thy cedars, And have cast them on the fire.
7 Porque prepararei contra ti destruidores, cada um com as suas armas; e cortarão os teus cedros escolhidos e lançá-los-ão no fogo.
8 And many nations have passed by this city, And they have said, each to his neighbour, For what hath Jehovah done thus to this great city?
8 E muitas nações passarão por esta cidade, e dirá cada um ao seu companheiro: Por que procedeu o Senhor assim com esta grande cidade?
9 And they have said, `Because that they have forsaken The covenant of Jehovah their God, And bow themselves to other gods, and serve them.`
9 Então, responderão: Porque deixaram o concerto do Senhor , seu Deus, e se inclinaram diante de deuses alheios, e os serviram.
10 Ye do not weep for the dead, nor bemoan for him, Weep ye sore for the traveller, For he doth not return again, Nor hath he seen the land of his birth.
10 Não choreis o morto, nem o lastimeis; chorai abundantemente aquele que sai, porque nunca mais tornará, nem verá a terra onde nasceu.
11 For thus said Jehovah concerning Shallum son of Josiah king of Judah, who is reigning instead of Josiah his father, who hath gone forth from this place: He doth not turn back hither again;
11 Porque assim diz o Senhor acerca de Salum, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, que reinou em lugar de Josias, seu pai, e que saiu deste lugar: Nunca ali tornará mais.
12 For in the place whither they have removed him he dieth, And this land he doth not see again.
12 Mas no lugar para onde o levaram cativo morrerá e nunca mais verá esta terra.
13 Wo to him who is building his house by unrighteousness, And his upper chambers by injustice, On his neighbour he layeth service for nought, And his wage he doth not give to him.
13 Ai daquele que edifica a sua casa com injustiça e os seus aposentos sem direito; que se serve do serviço do seu próximo, sem paga, e não lhe dá o salário do seu trabalho;
14 Who is saying, `I build for myself a large house, And airy upper chambers,` And he hath cut out for himself its windows, Ceiled with cedar, and painted with vermillion.
14 que diz: Edificarei para mim uma casa espaçosa e aposentos largos, e lhe abre janelas, e está forrada de cedro e pintada de vermelhão.
15 Dost thou reign, because thou art fretting thyself in cedar? Thy father -- did he not eat and drink? Yea, he did judgment and righteousness, Then [it is] well with him.
15 Reinarás tu, só porque te encerras em cedro? Acaso, teu pai não comeu e bebeu e não exercitou o juízo e a justiça? Por isso, tudo lhe sucedeu bem.
16 He decided the cause of the poor and needy, Then [it is] well -- is it not to know Me? An affirmation of Jehovah.
16 Julgou a causa do aflito e do necessitado; então, lhe sucedeu bem; porventura, não é isto conhecer-me? — diz o Senhor .
17 But thine eyes and thy heart are not, Except on thy dishonest gain, And on shedding of innocent blood, And on oppression, and on doing of violence.
17 Mas os teus olhos e o teu coração não atentam senão para a tua avareza, e para o sangue inocente, a fim de derramá-lo, e para a opressão, e para a violência, a fim de levar isso a efeito.
18 Therefore, thus said Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah: They do not lament for him, Ah, my brother, and Ah, sister, They do not lament for him, Ah, lord, and Ah, his honour.
18 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor acerca de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá: Não lamentarão por ele, dizendo: Ai, irmão meu! Ou: Ai, minha irmã! Nem lamentarão por ele, dizendo: Ai, senhor! Ou: Ai, majestoso!
19 The burial of an ass -- he is buried, Dragged and cast out thence to the gates of Jerusalem.
19 Em sepultura de jumento, o sepultarão, arrastando-o e lançando-o para bem longe, fora das portas de Jerusalém.
20 Go up to Lebanon, and cry, And in Bashan give forth thy voice, And cry from Abarim, For destroyed have been all loving thee.
20 Sobe ao Líbano, e clama, e levanta a tua voz em Basã, e clama desde Abarim, porque estão quebrantados os teus namorados.
21 I have spoken unto thee in thine ease, Thou hast said, `I do not hearken,` This [is] thy way from thy youth, For thou hast not hearkened to My voice.
21 Falei contigo da tua prosperidade, mas tu disseste: Não ouvirei. Este é o teu caminho, desde a tua mocidade, pois nunca deste ouvidos à minha voz.
22 All thy friends consume doth wind, And thy lovers into captivity do go, Surely then thou art ashamed, And hast blushed for all thy wickedness.
22 O vento apascentará todos os teus pastores, e os teus namorados irão para o cativeiro; certamente, então, te confundirás e te envergonharás, por causa de toda a tua maldade.
23 O dweller in Lebanon, making a nest among cedars, How gracious hast thou been when pangs come to thee, Pain -- as of a travailing woman.
23 Ó tu que habitas no Líbano e fazes o teu ninho nos cedros! Quão lastimada serás quando te vierem as dores e os ais como da que está de parto!
24 I live -- an affirmation of Jehovah, Though Coniah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah Were a seal on My right hand, Surely thence I draw thee away,
24 Vivo eu, diz o Senhor , que, ainda que Jeconias, filho de Jeoaquim, rei de Judá, fosse o selo do anel da minha mão direita, eu dali te arrancaria.
25 And I have given thee into the hand of those seeking thy life, And into hands of which thou art afraid, Into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, And into the hand of the Chaldeans.
25 E te entregarei na mão dos que buscam a tua vida, e na mão daqueles diante de quem tu temes, a saber, na mão de Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, e na mão dos caldeus.
26 And I have cast thee, And thy mother who bore thee, unto another country, Where ye were not born, and there do ye die.
26 E lançar-te-ei a ti e à tua mãe, que te deu à luz, para uma terra estranha, em que não nasceste; e ali morrereis.
27 And to the land whither they are lifting up their soul to return, Thither they do not return.
27 Mas à terra, para a qual eles levantam a sua alma, para ali tornarem, a ela não tornarão.
28 A grief -- a despised broken thing -- is this man Coniah? A vessel in which there is no pleasure? Wherefore have they been cast up and down, He and his seed, Yea, they were cast on to a land that they knew not?
28 É, pois, este homem Jeconias um vil utensílio quebrado ou um utensílio de que ninguém se agrada? Por que razão foram arremessados fora, ele e a sua geração, e arrojados para uma terra que não conhecem?
29 Earth, earth, earth, hear a word of Jehovah,
29 Ó terra, terra, terra! Ouve a palavra do Senhor !
30 Thus said Jehovah: Write ye this man childless, A man -- he doth not prosper in his days, For none of his seed doth prosper, Sitting on the throne of David, And ruling again in Judah!
30 Assim diz o Senhor : Escrevei que este homem está privado de seus filhos e é homem que não prosperará nos seus dias; nem prosperará algum da sua geração, para se assentar no trono de Davi e reinar mais em Judá.
