1 The burden of Egypt. Lo, Jehovah is riding on a swift thick cloud, And He hath entered Egypt, And moved have been the idols of Egypt at His presence, And the heart of Egypt melteth in its midst.
1 Profecia acerca do Egito. Eis que o Senhor vem cavalgando numa nuvem ligeira, e entra no Egito; e os ídolos do Egito estremecerão diante dele, e o coração dos egípcios se derreterá dentro de si.
2 And I armed Egyptians against Egyptians, And they fought, each against his brother, And each against his neighbour, City against city, kingdom against kingdom.
2 Incitarei egípcios contra egípcios; e cada um pelejará contra o seu irmão, e cada um contra o seu próximo, cidade contra cidade, reino contra reino.
3 And emptied out hath been in its midst the spirit of Egypt. And its counsel I swallow up, And they have sought unto the idols, And unto the charmers, And unto those having familiar spirits, And unto the wizards.
3 E o espírito dos egípcios se esvaecerá dentro deles; eu destruirei o seu conselho; e eles consultarão os seus ídolos, e encantadores, e necromantes e feiticeiros.
4 And I have delivered the Egyptians Into the hand of a hard lord, And a strong king doth rule over them, An affirmation of the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts.
4 Pelo que entregarei os egípcios nas mãos de um senhor duro; e um rei rigoroso os dominará, diz o Senhor Deus dos exércitos.
5 And failed have waters from the sea, And a river is wasted and dried up.
5 e as águas do Nilo minguarão, e o rio se esgotará e secará.
6 And they have turned away the flowings, Weak and dried up have been brooks of the bulwark, Reed and flag have withered.
6 Também os rios exalarão um fedor; diminuirão e secarão os canais do Egito; as canas e os juncos murcharão.
7 Exposed things by the brook, by the edge of the brook, And every sown thing of the brook, hath withered, It hath been driven away, and is not.
7 Os prados junto ao Nilo, ao longo das suas margens, sim, tudo o que foi semeado junto dele secará, será arrancado, e deixará de existir.
8 And lamented have the fishers, And mourned have all casting angle into a brook, And those spreading nets on the face of the waters have languished.
8 E os pescadores gemerão, e lamentarão todos os que lançam anzol ao Nilo, e desfalecerão os que estendem rede sobre as águas.
9 And ashamed have been makers of fine flax, And weavers of net-works.
9 Envergonhar-se-ão os que trabalham em linho fino, e os que tecem pano branco.
10 And its foundations have been smitten, All making wages [are] afflicted in soul.
10 E os que são as colunas do Egito serão esmagados, e todos os que trabalham, por salário serão entristecidos.
11 Only, fools [are] the princes of Zoan, The counsel of the wise ones of the counsellors of Pharaoh hath become brutish. How say ye unto Pharaoh, `A son of the wise am I, a son of kings of antiquity?`
11 Na verdade estultos são os príncipes de Zoã; o conselho dos mais sábios conselheiros de Faraó se embruteceu. Como pois a Faraó direis: Sou filho de sábios, filho de reis antigos?
12 Where [are] they now, thy wise ones? Yea, let them tell to thee, I pray thee, And they know what Jehovah of Hosts hath counselled against Egypt!
12 Onde estão agora os teus sábios? anunciem-te agora, e te façam saber o que o Senhor dos exércitos determinou contra o Egito.
13 Foolish have been princes of Zoan, Lifted up have been princes of Noph, And they have caused Egypt to err, The chief of her tribes.
13 Estultos tornaram-se os príncipes de Zoã, enganados estão os príncipes de Mênfis; fizeram errar o Egito, os que são a pedra de esquina das suas tribos.
14 Jehovah hath mingled in her midst A spirit of perverseness, And they have caused Egypt to err in all its work, As a drunkard erreth in his vomit.
14 O Senhor derramou no meio deles um espírito de confusão; e eles fizeram errar o Egito em todas as suas obras, como o bêbedo vai cambaleando no seu vômito.
15 And there is no work to Egypt, That head or tail, branch or reed, may do.
15 E não haverá para o Egito coisa alguma que possa fazer cabeça ou cauda, ramo ou junco.
16 In that day is Egypt like women, And it hath mourned, and been afraid, Because of the waving of the hand of Jehovah of Hosts, That He is waving over it.
16 Naquele dia os egípcios serão como mulheres, e tremerão e temerão por vibrar o Senhor dos exércitos a sua mão contra eles.
17 And the land of Judah hath been to Egypt for a cause of staggering, Every one who doth mention it, for himself feareth, Because of the counsel of Jehovah of Hosts, That He is counselling against it.
17 E a terra de Judá será um espanto para o Egito; todo aquele a quem isso se anunciar se assombrará, por causa do propósito que o Senhor dos exércitos determinou contra eles.
18 In that day there are five cities in the land of Egypt, Speaking the lip of Canaan, And swearing to Jehovah of Hosts, `The city of destruction,` is said of one.
18 Naquele dia haverá cinco cidades na terra do Egito que falem a língua de Canaã e façam juramento ao Senhor dos exércitos. Uma destas se chamará Cidade de destruição.
19 In that day there is an altar to Jehovah In the midst of the land of Egypt, And a standing pillar near its border to Jehovah,
19 Naquele dia haverá um altar dedicado ao Senhor no meio da terra do Egito, e uma coluna se erigirá ao Senhor, na sua fronteira.
20 And it hath been for a sign and for a testimony, To Jehovah of Hosts in the land of Egypt, For they cry unto Jehovah from the face of oppressors, And He sendeth to them a saviour, Even a great one, and hath delivered them.
20 E servirá isso de sinal e de testemunho ao Senhor dos exércitos na terra do Egito; quando clamarem ao Senhor por causa dos opressores, ele lhes enviará um salvador, que os defenderá e os livrará.
21 And known hath been Jehovah to Egypt, And the Egyptians have known Jehovah in that day, And done sacrifice and present, And vowed a vow to Jehovah, and completed [it].
21 E o Senhor se dará a conhecer ao Egito e os egípcios conhecerão ao Senhor naquele dia, e o adorarão com sacrifícios e ofertas, e farão votos ao Senhor, e os cumprirão.
22 And Jehovah hath smitten Egypt, smiting and healing, And they have turned back unto Jehovah, And He hath been entreated of them, And hath healed them.
22 E ferirá o Senhor aos egípcios; feri-los-á, mas também os curará; e eles se voltarão para o Senhor, que ouvirá as súplicas deles e os curará.
23 In that day is a highway out of Egypt to Asshur, And come in have the Assyrians to Egypt, And the Egyptians into Asshur, And the Egyptians have served with the Assyrians.
23 Naquele dia haverá estrada do Egito até a Assíria, e os assírios virão ao Egito, e os egípcios irão à Assíria; e os egípcios adorarão com os assírios.
24 In that day is Israel third, After Egypt, and after Asshur, A blessing in the heart of the earth.
24 Naquele dia Israel será o terceiro com os egípcios e os assírios, uma benção no meio da terra;
25 In that Jehovah of Hosts did bless it, saying, `Blessed [is] My people -- Egypt, And the work of My hands -- Asshur, And Mine inheritance -- Israel!`
25 porquanto o Senhor dos exércitos os tem abençoado, dizendo: Bem-aventurado seja o Egito, meu povo, e a Assíria, obra de minhas mãos, e Israel, minha herança.
