¹ These [are] the words of the covenant which Jehovah hath commanded Moses to make with the sons of Israel in the land of Moab, apart from the covenant which He made with them in Horeb.

¹ Estas são as palavras do pacto que o SENHOR ordenou que Moisés fizesse com os filhos de Israel, na terra de Moabe, além do pacto que havia feito com eles em Horebe.

² And Moses calleth unto all Israel, and saith unto them, `Ye -- ye have seen all that which Jehovah hath done before your eyes in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land;

² E Moisés chamou a todo o Israel e disse-lhes: Vistes tudo o que o SENHOR fez diante dos vossos olhos na terra do Egito, a Faraó, e a todos os seus servos, e a toda a sua terra;

³ the great trials which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great wonders;

³ as grandes tentações que os teus olhos viram, os sinais e os grandes milagres;

⁴ and Jehovah hath not given to you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, till this day,

⁴ mas o SENHOR não vos deu um coração para entender, e olhos para ver, e ouvidos para ouvir, até este dia.

⁵ and I cause you to go forty years in a wilderness; your garments have not been consumed from off you, and thy shoe hath not worn away from off thy foot;

⁵ E eu vos guiei durante quarenta anos pelo deserto; as vossas vestes não envelheceram sobre vós, nem a tua sandália envelheceu no teu pé.

⁶ bread ye have not eaten, and wine and strong drink ye have not drunk, so that ye know that I [am] Jehovah your God.

⁶ Não comestes pão, nem bebestes vinho ou bebida forte; para que pudésseis saber que eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.

⁷ `And ye come in unto this place, and Sihon king of Heshbon -- also Og king of Bashan -- doth come out to meet us, to battle, and we smite them,

⁷ E, quando chegastes a este lugar, Seom, o rei de Hesbom, e Ogue, o rei de Basã, vieram contra nós em peleja, e os ferimos;

⁸ and take their land, and give it for an inheritance to the Reubenite, and to the Gadite, and to the half of the tribe of Manasseh;

⁸ e tomamos a sua terra, e a demos como herança aos rubenitas e aos gaditas, e para a meia tribo de Manassés.

⁹ and ye have kept the words of this covenant, and done them, so that ye cause all that ye do to prosper.

⁹ Portanto guardai as palavras deste pacto, e cumpri-as, para que possais prosperar em tudo o que fizerdes.

¹⁰ `Ye are standing to-day, all of you, before Jehovah your God -- your heads, your tribes, your elders, and your authorities -- every man of Israel;

¹⁰ Todos vós estais hoje diante do SENHOR vosso Deus; os vossos capitães das vossas tribos, os vossos anciãos, e os vossos oficiais, com todos os homens de Israel,

¹¹ your infants, your wives, and thy sojourner who [is] in the midst of thy camps, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water --

¹¹ os vossos pequenos, as vossas esposas, e o teu estrangeiro, que está no teu acampamento, desde o lenhador da tua madeira até ao tirador da tua água,

¹² for thy passing over into the covenant of Jehovah thy God, and into His oath which Jehovah thy God is making with thee to-day;

¹² para que entres no pacto com o SENHOR teu Deus, e no seu juramento, que o SENHOR teu Deus faz contigo neste dia;

¹³ in order to establish thee to-day to Him for a people, and He Himself is thy God, as He hath spoken to thee, and as He hath sworn to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

¹³ para que ele possa te estabelecer hoje como um povo para si mesmo, e para que possa ser para ti um Deus, como te havia dito, e como havia jurado aos teus pais, a Abraão, a Isaque e a Jacó.

¹⁴ `And not with you alone am I making this covenant and this oath;

¹⁴ Não é somente convosco que faço este pacto e este juramento;

¹⁵ but with him who is here with us, standing to-day before Jehovah our God, and with him who is not here with us to-day,

¹⁵ mas com aquele que está aqui hoje conosco diante do SENHOR nosso Deus, e também com aquele que hoje não está aqui conosco,

¹⁶ for ye have known how ye dwelt in the land of Egypt, and how we passed by through the midst of the nations which ye have passed by;

¹⁶ (porque sabeis como habitamos na terra do Egito, e como passamos entre as nações pelas quais passastes;

¹⁷ and ye see their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which [are] with them,

¹⁷ e vistes as suas abominações, e os seus ídolos, madeira e pedra, ouro e prata, que estavam entre eles),

¹⁸ lest there be among you a man or woman, or family or tribe, whose heart is turning to-day from Jehovah our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations, lest there be in you a root fruitful of gall and wormwood:

¹⁸ para que não haja entre vós homem, nem mulher, nem família, nem tribo, cujo coração se desvie hoje do SENHOR nosso Deus, para ir e servir os deuses dessas nações; para que não haja entre vós, uma raiz que produza fel e absinto;

¹⁹ `And it hath been, in his hearing the words of this oath, and he hath blessed himself in his heart, saying, I have peace, though in the stubbornness of my heart I go on, in order to end the fulness with the thirst.

¹⁹ e se acontecer que, quando ouvir as palavras desta maldição, se abençoe em seu coração, dizendo: Terei paz, embora ande na imaginação do meu coração, para acrescentar embriaguez à sede;

²⁰ Jehovah is not willing to be propitious to him, for then doth the anger of Jehovah smoke, also His zeal, against that man, and lain down on him hath all the oath which is written in this book, and Jehovah hath blotted out his name from under the heavens,

²⁰ o SENHOR não o poupará, mas a ira do SENHOR e o seu ciúme fumegarão contra o tal homem, e todas as maldições que estão escritas neste livro estarão sobre ele, e o SENHOR apagará o seu nome de debaixo dos céus.

²¹ and Jehovah hath separated him for evil, out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the oaths of the covenant which is written in this book of the law.

²¹ E o SENHOR o separará para o mal, de todas as tribos de Israel, conforme todas as maldições do pacto, que estão escritas neste livro da lei,

²² `And the latter generation of your sons who rise after you, and the stranger who cometh in from a land afar off, have said when they have seen the strokes of that land, and its sicknesses which Jehovah hath sent into it, --

²² assim dirá à geração que vier dos vossos filhos, que se levantará depois de vós, e o estrangeiro que vier de uma terra distante, quando virem as pragas daquela terra, e as enfermidades que o SENHOR lançou sobre ela,

²³ ([with] brimstone and salt is the whole land burnt, it is not sown, nor doth it shoot up, nor doth there go up on it any herb, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboim, which Jehovah overturned in His anger, and in His fury,) --

²³ e toda a sua terra for enxofre e sal, e abrasada, que não está semeada, nem produz, nem nela crescerá erva alguma, assim como foi a destruição de Sodoma e de Gomorra, de Admá e de Zeboim, que o SENHOR destruiu na sua ira e no seu furor,

²⁴ yea, all the nations have said, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus to this land? what the heat of this great anger?

²⁴ e todas as nações dirão: Por que o SENHOR fez isto a esta terra? O que significa o calor desta grande ira?

²⁵ `And they have said, Because that they have forsaken the covenant of Jehovah, God of their fathers, which He made with them in His bringing them out of the land of Egypt,

²⁵ Então, os homens dirão: Porque eles abandonaram o pacto do SENHOR Deus de seus pais, que ele fez com eles, quando os tirou da terra do Egito,

²⁶ and they go and serve other gods, and bow themselves to them -- gods which they have not known, and which He hath not apportioned to them;

²⁶ porque foram e serviram a outros deuses, e os adoraram, a deuses a quem não conheciam e que lhes não foram dados;

²⁷ and the anger of Jehovah burneth against that land, to bring in on it all the reviling that is written in this book,

²⁷ e a ira do SENHOR se acendeu contra esta terra, para trazer sobre ela todas as maldições que estão escritas neste livro;

²⁸ and Jehovah doth pluck them from off their ground in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath, and doth cast them unto another land, as [at] this day.

²⁸ e o SENHOR os arrancou de sua terra com ira, e com furor, e com grande indignação, e os lançou a outra terra, como é neste dia.

²⁹ `The things hidden [are] to Jehovah our God, and the things revealed [are] to us and to our sons -- to the age, to do all the words of this law.

²⁹ As coisas secretas pertencem ao SENHOR nosso Deus; mas as coisas que são reveladas pertencem a nós e aos nossos filhos para sempre, para que nós possamos cumprir todas as palavras desta lei.
