¹ Then said Solomon, `Jehovah said -- to dwell in thick darkness,

¹ Então falou Salomão: O SENHOR tem dito que ele habitaria na profunda escuridão.

² and I -- I have built a house of habitation for Thee, and a fixed place for Thy dwelling to the ages.`

² Eu, porém, edifiquei uma casa de habitação para ti, e um lugar para a tua eterna morada.

³ And the king turneth round his face, and blesseth the whole assembly of Israel, and the whole assembly of Israel is standing,

³ E o rei virou a sua face, e abençoou toda a congregação de Israel, e toda a congregação de Israel estava em pé.

⁴ and he saith, `Blessed [is] Jehovah, God of Israel, who hath spoken with His mouth with David my father, and with His hands hath fulfilled [it], saying:

⁴ E ele disse: Bendito seja o SENHOR Deus de Israel, que com as suas mãos, cumpriu aquilo que ele falou com a sua boca ao meu pai Davi, dizendo:

⁵ `From the day that I brought out My people from the land of Egypt, I have not fixed on a city out of any of the tribes of Israel to build a house for my name being there, and I have not fixed on a man to be leader over My people Israel;

⁵ Desde o dia em que eu retirei o meu povo da terra do Egito eu não escolhi cidade alguma dentre todas as tribos de Israel para nela edificar uma casa, para que o meu nome pudesse ali estar; tampouco escolhi homem algum para ser soberano sobre o meu povo, Israel;

⁶ and I fix on Jerusalem for My name being there, and I fix on David to be over My people Israel.

⁶ mas escolhi Jerusalém, para que o meu nome pudesse estar ali; e escolhi Davi para estar sobre o meu povo, Israel.

⁷ `And it is with the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Jehovah God of Israel,

⁷ Ora, estava no coração de Davi, o meu pai, edificar uma casa para o nome do SENHOR Deus de Israel.

⁸ and Jehovah saith unto David my father, Because that it hath been with thy heart to build a house for My name, thou hast done well that it hath been with thy heart,

⁸ Porém, o SENHOR disse a Davi, o meu pai: Porquanto estava no teu coração edificar uma casa para o meu nome, fizeste bem em teres isto no teu coração.

⁹ but thou dost not build the house, for thy son who cometh forth out from thy loins, he doth build the house for My name.

⁹ Todavia não edificarás a casa; mas o teu filho que sairá dos teus lombos, ele edificará a casa para o meu nome.

¹⁰ `And Jehovah doth establish His word that He spake, and I rise up in the stead of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah spake, and I build the house for the name of Jehovah, God of Israel,

¹⁰ Portanto, o SENHOR cumpriu a palavra que falou; porque estou levantado no lugar de Davi, o meu pai, e estou posto no trono de Israel, como o SENHOR prometeu, e edifiquei a casa para o nome do SENHOR Deus de Israel.

¹¹ and I place there the ark, where [is] the covenant of Jehovah that He made with the sons of Israel.`

¹¹ E nela pus a arca, na qual está o pacto do SENHOR, que ele fez com os filhos de Israel.

¹² And he standeth before the altar of Jehovah, over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreadeth out his hand, --

¹² E pôs-se em pé diante do altar do SENHOR na presença de toda a congregação de Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos;

¹³ for Solomon hath made a scaffold of brass, and putteth it in the midst of the court, five cubits its length, and five cubits its breadth, and three cubits its height, and he standeth upon it, and kneeleth on his knees over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreadeth forth his hands towards the heavens --

¹³ porque Salomão havia feito uma plataforma de bronze, de cinco côvados de comprimento, e cinco côvados de largura, e três côvados de altura, e a havia posto no meio do átrio; e pôs-se em pé sobre ela, e ajoelhou-se diante de toda a congregação de Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos em direção ao céu,

¹⁴ and saith, `O Jehovah God of Israel, there is not like Thee a god in the heavens and in the earth, keeping the covenant and the kindness for Thy servants who are walking before Thee with all their heart;

¹⁴ e ele disse: Ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, não há Deus como tu no céu nem na terra, que guarda o pacto e demonstra misericórdia para com os teus servos que andam diante de ti de todo o seu coração.

¹⁵ who hast kept for Thy servant David my father that which Thou didst speak to him; yea, Thou dost speak with Thy mouth, and with Thy hand hast fulfilled [it], as at this day.

¹⁵ Tu que tens guardado com o teu servo Davi, o meu pai, aquilo que lhe prometeste; e falaste com a tua boca, e o cumpriste com a tua mão, como é neste dia.

¹⁶ `And now, O Jehovah, God of Israel, keep for Thy servant David my father that which Thou didst speak to him, saying, There is not cut off to thee a man from before Me, sitting on the throne of Israel, only, if thy sons watch their way to walk in My law, as thou hast walked before Me.

¹⁶ Agora, portanto, Ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, guarda com o teu servo Davi, o meu pai, aquilo que tu lhe prometeste, dizendo: Não te faltará um homem diante de mim, para se assentar no trono de Israel; de modo que os teus filhos atentem ao seu caminho para andarem na minha lei, como tu andastes diante de mim.

¹⁷ `And now, O Jehovah, God of Israel, is Thy word stedfast that Thou hast spoken to Thy servant, to David,

¹⁷ Agora, pois, ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, cumpra-se a tua palavra, a qual falaste ao teu servo Davi.

¹⁸ (for is it true? -- God dwelleth with man on the earth! Lo, the heavens, and the heavens of the heavens, do not contain Thee, how much less this house that I have built?)

¹⁸ Mas, verdadeiramente habitará Deus, com os homens na terra? Eis que o céu e o céu dos céus não são capazes de te conter; quanto menos esta casa que eu construí!

¹⁹ `And Thou hast turned unto the prayer of Thy servant, and unto his supplication, O Jehovah my God, to hearken unto the cry and unto the prayer that Thy servant is praying before Thee,

¹⁹ Tem consideração, portanto, pela oração do teu servo, e pela sua súplica, ó SENHOR meu Deus, para atentares ao clamor e a oração, a qual o teu servo suplica diante de ti;

²⁰ for Thine eyes being open towards this house by day and by night, towards the place that Thou hast said to put Thy name there, to hearken unto the prayer that Thy servant prayeth towards this place.

²⁰ para que os teus olhos possam estar abertos sobre esta casa dia e noite, sobre o lugar do qual disseste que ali colocarias o teu nome; para atentares à oração que o teu servo ora em direção a este lugar.

²¹ `And Thou hast hearkened unto the supplications of Thy servant, and of Thy people Israel, that they pray towards this place, and Thou dost hear from the place of Thy dwelling, from the heavens, and hast hearkened, and forgiven.

²¹ Ouve, portanto, as súplicas do teu servo, e do teu povo, Israel, as quais eles farão em direção a este lugar; ouve do lugar da tua habitação, a saber, do céu; e quando ouvires, perdoa.

²² `If a man doth sin against his neighbour, and he hath lifted up on him an oath to cause him to swear, and the oath hath come in before Thine altar in this house --

²² Se um homem pecar contra o seu próximo, e sobre ele lançado um juramento para fazê-lo jurar, e o juramento chegar diante do teu altar nesta casa;

²³ then Thou dost hear from the heavens, and hast done, and hast judged Thy servants, to give back to the wicked, to put his way on his head, and to declare righteous the righteous, to give to him according to his righteousness.

²³ ouve do céu, e faz, e julga os teus servos, condenando ao ímpio, para fazeres recair o seu proceder sobre a sua própria cabeça, e justificando ao justo, dando-lhe segundo a sua justiça.

²⁴ `And if Thy people Israel is smitten before an enemy, because they sin against Thee, and they have turned back and confessed Thy name, and prayed and made supplication before Thee in this house --

²⁴ E se o teu povo, Israel, for derrotado diante do inimigo, por terem pecado contra ti; e se converterem e confessarem o teu nome e orarem e fizerem súplicas diante de ti nesta casa;

²⁵ then Thou dost hear from the heavens, and hast forgiven the sin of Thy people Israel, and caused them to turn back unto the ground that Thou hast given to them, and to their fathers.

²⁵ então, ouve tu dos céus, e perdoa o pecado do teu povo, Israel, e traz-lhes de volta para a terra que tu deste a eles e a seus pais.

²⁶ `In the heavens being restrained, and there is no rain, because they sin against Thee, and they have prayed towards this place, and confessed Thy name -- from their sin they turn back because Thou dost afflict them --

²⁶ Quando o céu estiver fechado, e não houver chuva, por terem pecado contra ti; todavia se eles orarem em direção a este lugar, e confessarem o teu nome, e se converterem do seu pecado, quando tu os afligires;

²⁷ then Thou dost hear in the heavens, and hast forgiven the sin of Thy servants, and of Thy people Israel, because Thou directest them unto the good way in which they walk, and hast given rain on Thy land that Thou hast given to Thy people for an inheritance.

²⁷ então, ouve tu do céu, e perdoa o pecado dos teus servos, e do teu povo, Israel, ensinando-lhes o bom caminho no qual eles devem caminhar; e envia chuva sobre a tua terra, a qual tens dado ao teu povo por herança.

²⁸ `Famine, when it is in the land, pestilence, when it is, blasting, and mildew, locust, and caterpillar, when they are, when its enemies have distressed it in the land -- its gates, any plague and any sickness;

²⁸ Se houver fome na terra, se houver peste, se houver crestamento ou mofo, locustas ou lagartas; se os seus inimigos os cercarem nas cidades da sua terra; qualquer que seja a ferida, ou qualquer que seja a enfermidade que houver;

²⁹ any prayer, any supplication that is for any man, and for all Thy people Israel, when they know each his own plague, and his own pain, and he hath spread out his hands towards this house:

²⁹ então qualquer que seja a oração ou súplica que for feita por qualquer homem, ou de todo o teu povo Israel, quando cada um conhecer a sua própria ferida e a sua própria angústia, e estender as suas mãos nesta casa;

³⁰ then Thou dost hear from the heavens, the settled place of Thy dwelling, and hast forgiven, and hast given to each according to all his ways (because Thou knowest his heart, for Thou -- Thou only -- hast known the heart of the sons of men),

³⁰ então, ouve tu do céu, o teu lugar de habitação, e perdoa, e concede a cada homem conforme todos os seus caminhos, cujo o coração tu conheces, (pois tu somente conheces os corações dos filhos dos homens),

³¹ so that they fear Thee, to walk in Thy ways, all the days that they are living on the face of the ground that Thou hast given to our fathers.

³¹ para que eles possam temer a ti, andando nos teus caminhos, enquanto viverem na terra que tu deste aos nossos pais.

³² `And also, unto the stranger who is not of Thy people Israel, and he hath come from a land afar off for the sake of Thy great name, and Thy strong hand, and Thy stretched-out arm, and they have come in and prayed towards this house:

³² Além disso, acerca do estrangeiro, o qual não é do teu povo, Israel, mas é chegado de terras distantes por causa do teu grande nome, e da tua forte mão, e do teu braço estendido; vindo eles e orando nesta casa;

³³ then Thou dost hear from the heavens, from the settled place of Thy dwelling, and hast done according to all that the stranger calleth unto Thee for: so that all the peoples of the earth do know Thy name, so as to fear Thee, as Thy people Israel, and to know that Thy name is called on this house that I have built.

³³ ouve tu dos céus, do teu lugar de habitação, e faz segundo tudo o que o estrangeiro te clamar; para que todos os povos da terra possam conhecer o teu nome, e temer-te como faz o teu povo, Israel; e possam saber que essa casa, a qual edifiquei, é chamada pelo teu nome.

³⁴ `When Thy people doth go out to battle against its enemies in the way that Thou dost send them, and they have prayed unto Thee the way of this city that Thou hast fixed on, and the house that I have built for Thy name:

³⁴ Se o teu povo sair à guerra contra os seus inimigos, pelo caminho que tu os enviares, e eles orarem a ti voltados para esta cidade que tu escolheste, e a casa que eu construí para o teu nome;

³⁵ then Thou hast heard from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and hast maintained their cause.

³⁵ então, ouve tu dos céus a sua oração e a sua súplica, e sustenta a sua causa.

³⁶ `When they sin against Thee -- for there is not a man who sinneth not -- and Thou hast been angry with them, and hast given them before an enemy, and taken them captive have their captors, unto a land far off or near;

³⁶ Se eles pecarem contra ti, (pois não há homem que não peque) e tu ficares irado com eles, e os entregares diante dos seus inimigos, e eles os levarem cativos para uma terra longínqua ou próxima;

³⁷ and they have turned [it] back unto their heart in the land whither they have been taken captive, and have turned back, and made supplication unto Thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done perversely, and have done wickedly;

³⁷ e na terra, para onde forem levados cativos, caírem em si, e se converterem e orarem a ti na terra do seu cativeiro, dizendo: Pecamos, fizemos o mal, e agimos impiamente;

³⁸ yea, they have turned back unto Thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their captivity, whither they have taken them captive, and they have prayed the way of their land that Thou hast given to their fathers, and of the city that Thou hast chosen, and of the house that I have built for Thy name:

³⁸ se voltarem a ti de todo o seu coração e de toda a sua alma na terra do seu cativeiro, para a qual foram levados cativos, e orarem em direção à sua terra, a qual tu deste aos seus pais, e em direção à cidade que tu escolheste, e em direção à casa que edifiquei para o teu nome,

³⁹ then Thou hast heard from the heavens, from the settled place of Thy dwelling, their prayer and their supplications, and hast maintained their cause, and forgiven Thy people who have sinned against Thee.

³⁹ então, ouve dos céus, a saber, do teu local de habitação, as suas orações e as suas súplicas, e sustenta a sua causa, e perdoa o teu povo que pecou contra ti.

⁴⁰ `Now, my God, let, I beseech Thee, Thine eyes be open, and Thine ears attentive, to the prayer of this place:

⁴⁰ Agora, Deus meu, suplico-te que estejam abertos os teus olhos, e que os teus ouvidos estejam atentos à oração que é feita neste lugar.

⁴¹ and now, rise, O Jehovah God, to Thy rest, Thou, and the ark of Thy strength; Thy priests, O Jehovah God, are clothed with salvation, and Thy saints rejoice in the goodness,

⁴¹ Agora, portanto, levanta-te, ó SENHOR Deus, no teu lugar de repouso, tu e a arca da tua fortaleza; que os teus sacerdotes, ó SENHOR Deus, sejam revestidos de salvação, e que os teus santos se regozijem em bondade.

⁴² O Jehovah God, turn not back the face of Thine anointed, be mindful of the kind acts of David Thy servant.`

⁴² Ó SENHOR Deus, não desvies a tua face dos teus ungidos; lembra-te das misericórdias de Davi, o teu servo.
