¹ And Jehoshaphat hath riches and honour in abundance, and joineth affinity to Ahab,

¹ Ora, Josafá tinha honra e riquezas em abundância, e uniu-se em parentesco com Acabe.

² and goeth down at the end of [certain] years unto Ahab to Samaria, and Ahab sacrificeth for him sheep and oxen in abundance, and for the people who [are] with him, and persuadeth him to go up unto Ramoth-Gilead.

² E depois de alguns anos ele desceu até Acabe em Samaria. E Acabe matou ovelhas e bois em abundância para ele, e para o povo que ele tinha consigo, e o persuadiu a subir com ele até Ramote-Gileade.

³ And Ahab king of Israel saith unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, `Dost thou go with me [to] Ramoth-Gilead?` And he saith to him, `As I -- so thou, and as thy people -- my people, even with thee in battle.`

³ E Acabe, rei de Israel, disse a Josafá, rei de Judá: Irás tu comigo para Ramote-Gileade? E ele lhe respondeu: Eu sou como tu és, e o meu povo como o teu povo; e nós estaremos contigo na guerra.

⁴ And Jehoshaphat saith unto the king of Israel, `Seek, I pray thee, this day, the word of Jehovah.`

⁴ E Josafá disse ao rei de Israel: Rogo-te que consultes a palavra do SENHOR hoje.

⁵ And the king of Israel gathereth the prophets, four hundred men, and saith unto them, `Do we go unto Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I forbear?` And they say, `Go up, and God doth give [it] into the hand of the king.`

⁵ Portanto, o rei de Israel reuniu os profetas, quatrocentos homens, e disse-lhes: Devemos nós ir a Ramote-Gileade para batalha? Ou, devo me refrear? E eles disseram: Sobe; porque Deus a entregará na mão do rei.

⁶ And Jehoshaphat saith, `Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah still, and we seek from him?`

⁶ Todavia, Josafá disse: Não há aqui um profeta do SENHOR além desses, para que possamos consultá-lo?

⁷ And the king of Israel saith unto Jehoshaphat, `Still -- one man to seek Jehovah from him, and I -- I have hated him, for he is not prophesying concerning me of good, but all his days of evil, he [is] Micaiah son of Imlah;` and Jehoshaphat saith, `Let not the king say so.`

⁷ E o rei de Israel disse a Josafá: Há ainda um homem, por quem podemos consultar ao SENHOR; mas eu o odeio; porque ele nunca profetiza o bem para mim, mas sempre o mal; este é Micaías, o filho de Inlá. E Josafá disse: Não fale o rei assim.

⁸ And the king of Israel calleth unto a certain officer, and saith, `Hasten Micaiah son of Imlah.`

⁸ E o rei de Israel chamou um dos seus oficiais, e disse: Buscai rapidamente Micaías, o filho de Inlá.

⁹ And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah are sitting, each on his throne, clothed with garments, and they are sitting in a threshing-floor at the opening of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets are prophesying before them.

⁹ E o rei de Israel e Josafá, o rei de Judá, assentaram-se, cada qual em seu trono, usando as suas vestes, e eles se assentaram em um local vazio à entrada do portão de Samaria; e todos os profetas profetizaram diante deles.

¹⁰ And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah maketh for himself horns of iron, and saith, `Thus said Jehovah,

¹⁰ E Zedequias, o filho de Quenaaná, fez para si chifres de ferro; e disse: Assim diz o SENHOR: Com estes empurrarás a Síria, até que sejam consumidos.

¹¹ With these thou dost push Aram till thou hast consumed them.` And all the prophets are prophesying so, saying, `Go up [to] Ramath-Gilead and prosper, and Jehovah hath given [it] into the hand of the king.`

¹¹ E todos os profetas profetizaram assim, dizendo: Sobe até Ramote-Gileade, e prospera; porque o SENHOR a entregará na mão do rei.

¹² And the messenger who hath gone to call for Micaiah hath spoken unto him, saying, `Lo, the words of the prophets -- one mouth -- [are] good towards the king, and let, I pray thee, thy word be like one of theirs: and thou hast spoken good.`

¹² E o mensageiro que foi chamar Micaías falou a ele, dizendo: Eis que as palavras dos profetas declaram o bem para o rei, seja, pois, também a tua palavra como a de um deles, e fala o que é bom.

¹³ And Micaiah saith `Jehovah liveth, surely that which my God saith, it I speak.`

¹³ E Micaías disse: Como vive o SENHOR, o que o meu Deus me disser, isto falarei.

¹⁴ And he cometh in unto the king, and the king saith unto him, `Micaiah, do we go unto Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I forbear?` And he saith, `Go ye up, and prosper, and they are given into your hand.`

¹⁴ Vindo, pois, ele ao rei, este lhe disse: Micaías, devemos ir a Ramote-Gileade para batalha, ou devemos nos refrear? E ele disse: Subi, e prosperai, e eles serão entregues nas vossas mãos.

¹⁵ And the king saith unto him, `How many times am I adjuring thee, that thou speak unto me only truth in the name of Jehovah?`

¹⁵ E o rei lhe disse: Quantas vezes devo conjurar-te que não digas nada além da verdade para mim em o nome do SENHOR?

¹⁶ And he saith, `I have seen all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd, and Jehovah saith, There are no masters to these, they turn back each to his house in peace.`

¹⁶ E ele disse: Vi todo o Israel espalhado sobre os montes, como ovelhas que não têm um pastor; e o SENHOR disse: Estas não têm senhor; que retornem portanto cada homem à sua casa em paz.

¹⁷ And the king of Israel saith unto Jehoshaphat, `Did I not say unto thee, He doth not prophesy concerning me good, but rather of evil?`

¹⁷ E o rei de Israel disse a Josafá: Não te contei eu que ele não profetizaria o bem para mim, senão o mal?

¹⁸ And he saith, `Therefore, hear ye a word of Jehovah: I have seen Jehovah sitting on His throne, and all the host of the heavens standing on His right and His left;

¹⁸ Novamente, ele disse: Portanto, ouvi a palavra do SENHOR: Eu vi o SENHOR assentado no seu trono, e todo o exército do céu de pé junto a ele à sua direita e à sua esquerda.

¹⁹ and Jehovah saith, Who doth entice Ahab king of Israel, and he doth go up and fall in Ramoth-Gilead? And this speaker saith thus, and that speaker thus.

¹⁹ E o SENHOR disse: Quem persuadirá Acabe, rei de Israel, para que ele possa subir e tombar em Ramote-Gileade? E um falava dizendo segundo esta maneira, e outro dizendo segundo aquela maneira.

²⁰ And go out doth the spirit, and stand before Jehovah, and saith, I do entice him; and Jehovah saith unto him, With what?

²⁰ Então saiu ali um espírito, e se pôs de pé diante do SENHOR, e disse: Eu o persuadirei. E o SENHOR disse a ele: Com o quê?

²¹ and he saith, I go out, and have become a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets. And He saith, Thou dost entice, and also, thou art able; go out and do so.

²¹ E ele disse: Eu sairei e serei um espírito mentiroso na boca de todos os seus profetas. E o SENHOR disse: Tu o persuadirá, e tu também prevalecerás: Sai, e faz assim.

²² And, now, lo, Jehovah hath put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of these thy prophets, and Jehovah hath spoken concerning thee -- evil.`

²² Agora, portanto, eis que o SENHOR colocou um espírito mentiroso na boca destes teus profetas, e o SENHOR falou o mal contra ti.

²³ And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah cometh nigh, and smiteth Micaiah on the cheek, and saith, `Where [is] this -- the way the Spirit of Jehovah passed over from me to speak with thee?`

²³ Então Zedequias, o filho de Quenaaná, aproximou-se, e feriu Micaías no maxilar, e disse: Qual caminho seguiu o Espírito do SENHOR de mim para falar a ti?

²⁴ And Micaiah saith, `Lo, thou dost see in that day, that thou dost enter into the innermost chamber to be hidden.`

²⁴ E Micaías disse: Eis que naquele dia verás, quando adentrares uma câmara interna para te esconderes.

²⁵ And the king of Israel saith, `Take ye Micaiah, and turn him back unto Amon head of the city, and unto Joash son of the king,

²⁵ E o rei de Israel disse: Tomai Micaías, e carregai-o de volta a Amom, o governador da cidade, e a Joás, o filho do rei;

²⁶ and ye have said, Thus said the king, Put ye this [one] in the house of restraint, and cause him to eat bread of oppression, and water of oppression, till my return in peace.`

²⁶ e dizei: Assim diz o rei: Colocai este indivíduo na prisão, e alimentai-o com pão de aflição e com água de aflição, até que eu retorne em paz.

²⁷ And Micaiah saith, `If thou dost certainly return in peace, Jehovah hath not spoken by me;` and he saith, `Hear ye, O peoples, all of them!`

²⁷ E Micaías disse: Se tu certamente retornares em paz, então não falou o SENHOR por mim. E ele disse: Escutai, vós todos do povo.

²⁸ And the king of Israel goeth up, and Jehoshaphat king of Judah, unto Ramoth-Gilead;

²⁸ Assim, o rei de Israel e Josafá, o rei de Judá, subiram até Ramote-Gileade.

²⁹ and the king of Israel saith unto Jehoshaphat to disguise himself, and to go into battle, `And thou, put on thy garments.` And the king of Israel disguiseth himself, and they go into battle.

²⁹ E o rei de Israel disse a Josafá: Eu me disfarçarei, e irei à batalha; mas põe tu as tuas vestes. Assim, o rei de Israel se disfarçou; e eles foram à batalha.

³⁰ And the king of Aram hath commanded the heads of the charioteers whom he hath, saying, `Ye do not fight with small or with great, except with the king of Israel by himself.`

³⁰ Porém, o rei da Síria havia ordenado aos capitães das carruagens que estavam com ele, dizendo: Não lutes com pequeno, nem com grande, mas tão somente com o rei de Israel.

³¹ And it cometh to pass at the heads of the charioteers seeing Jehoshaphat, that they have said, `The king of Israel he is,` and they turn round against him to fight, and Jehoshaphat crieth out, and Jehovah hath helped him, and God enticeth them from him,

³¹ E sucedeu, quando os capitães das carruagens viram Josafá, eles disseram: É o rei de Israel. Portanto, eles o cercaram para lutar; mas Josafá clamou, e o SENHOR o socorreu; e Deus moveu-os a se apartarem dele.

³² yea, it cometh to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing that it hath not been the king of Israel -- they turn back from after him.

³² Porque sucedeu que, quando os capitães das carruagens perceberam que não era o rei de Israel, deixaram de persegui-lo.

³³ And a man hath drawn with a bow, in his simplicity, and smiteth the king of Israel between the joinings and the coat of mail, and he saith to the charioteer, `Turn thy hand, and thou hast brought me out of the camp, for I have become sick.`

³³ E um certo homem atirou um arco a esmo, e feriu o rei de Israel entre as juntas da couraça; pelo que ele disse ao homem da sua carruagem: Vira a tua mão, para que possas me carregar para fora do exército; porque estou ferido.

³⁴ And the battle increaseth on that day, and the king of Israel hath been stayed up in the chariot over-against Aram till the evening, and he dieth at the time of the going in of the sun.

³⁴ E a batalha se intensificou naquele dia; todavia o rei de Israel manteve-se de pé na sua carruagem contra os sírios até o anoitecer; e por volta da hora do sol se pôr ele morreu.
