1 As to sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel -- for he [is] the first-born, and on account of his profaning the couch of his father hath his birthright been given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and [he is] not to be reckoned by genealogy for the birthright,
1 São estes os descendentes de Rúben, o filho mais velho de Jacó. (Por ter tido relações com uma concubina do seu pai, Rúben havia perdido os direitos que eram dele como filho mais velho. Esses direitos foram dados a José.
2 for Judah hath been mighty over his brother, and for leader above him, and the birthright [is] to Joseph.
2 Foi a tribo de Judá que, de fato, se tornou a mais forte, e dela saiu um governador para todas as tribos.)
3 Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
3 Rúben, o filho mais velho de Jacó, foi pai de quatro filhos: Enoque, Palu, Hezrom e Carmi.
4 Sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
4 Joel foi pai de Semaías, Semaías foi pai de Gogue, Gogue foi pai de Simei,
5 Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
5 Simei foi pai de Mica, Mica foi pai de Reaías, Reaías foi pai de Baal,
6 Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur removed; he [is] prince of the Reubenite.
6 Baal foi pai de Beera. Beera, o chefe da tribo, foi levado como prisioneiro por Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria.
7 And his brethren, by their families, in the genealogy of their generations, [are] heads: Jeiel, and Zechariah,
7 Foram escritos numa lista os nomes dos seguintes chefes de grupos de famílias da tribo de Rúben: Jeiel, Zacarias,
8 and Bela son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel -- he is dwelling in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-Meon;
8 Belá, filho de Azaz e neto de Sema, do grupo de famílias de Joel. Esse grupo de famílias morava em Aroer e na região que ia para o Norte até Nebo e Baal-Meom.
9 and at the east he dwelt even unto the entering in of the wilderness, even from the river Phrat, for their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
9 Eles tinham grandes rebanhos na região de Gileade e por isso ocuparam a terra na direção leste até o deserto que termina no rio Eufrates.
10 And in the days of Saul they have made war with the Hagarites, who fall by their hand, and they dwell in their tents over all the face of the east of Gilead.
10 No tempo do rei Saul, a tribo de Rúben atacou e matou os hagaritas e ocupou a terra deles na parte leste de Gileade.
11 And the sons of Gad, over-against them have dwelt in the land of Bashan unto Salcah,
11 A tribo de Gade morou ao norte das terras da tribo de Rúben, na região de Basã, até Salca, no leste.
12 Joel the head, and Shapham the second, and Jaanai and Shaphat in Bashan;
12 Joel foi o fundador do principal grupo de famílias, e Safã foi o fundador do segundo mais importante grupo de famílias. Janai e Safate foram fundadores de outros grupos de famílias em Basã.
13 and their brethren of the house of their fathers [are] Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.
13 Os outros membros da tribo pertenciam aos seguintes sete grupos de famílias: Micael, Mesulã, Seba, Jorai, Jacã, Zia e Héber.
14 These [are] sons of Abihail son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jeshishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz;
14 Eles eram descendentes de Abiail, filho de Huri, filho de Jaroa, filho de Gileade, filho de Micael, filho de Jesisai, filho de Jado, filho de Buz.
15 Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, [is] head of the house of their fathers;
15 Aí, filho de Abdiel e neto de Guni, era o chefe desses grupos de famílias.
16 and they dwell in Gilead in Bashan, and in her small towns, and in all suburbs of Sharon, upon their outskirts;
16 Eles moravam nas regiões de Basã e de Gileade, nas cidades dali e por todas as terras de pastagens de Sarom.
17 all of them reckoned themselves by genealogy in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
17 (Estes registros foram feitos no tempo do rei Jotão, de Judá, e do rei Jeroboão, de Israel.)
18 Sons of Reuben, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, of sons of valour, men bearing shield and sword, and treading bow, and taught in battle, [are] forty and four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, going out to the host.
18 Nas tribos de Rúben, de Gade e de Manassés do Leste havia quarenta e quatro mil setecentos e sessenta soldados bem-treinados no uso de escudos , espadas e arco e flechas.
19 And they make war with the Hagarites, and Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab,
19 Eles fizeram guerra contra as tribos hagaritas de Jetur, Nafis e Nodabe.
20 and they are helped against them, and the Hagarites are given into their hand, and all who [are] with them, for they cried to God in battle, and He was entreated of them, because they trusted in Him.
20 Pediram a ajuda de Deus e confiaram nele, e por isso ele respondeu às suas orações e lhes deu a vitória sobre os hagaritas e os seus aliados.
21 And they take captive their cattle, of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of human beings a hundred thousand;
21 Eles tomaram dos inimigos cinquenta mil camelos, duzentas e cinquenta mil ovelhas e dois mil jumentos e levaram cem mil prisioneiros de guerra.
22 for many have fallen pierced, for of God [is] the battle; and they dwell in their stead till the removal.
22 Mataram muitos inimigos porque a guerra era da vontade de Deus. E ficaram morando naquela região até a época em que o povo foi levado como prisioneiro para fora da sua terra .
23 And the sons of the half of the tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan unto Baal-Hermon, and Senir, and mount Hermon, they have multiplied.
23 O povo de Manassés do Leste ficou morando na região de Basã até as cidades de Baal-Hermom e Senir e o monte Hermom, no norte. Eles aumentaram muito em número.
24 And these [are] heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, men mighty in valour, men of name, heads to the house of their fathers.
24 Estes foram os chefes dos seus grupos de famílias: Éfer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremias, Hodavias e Jadiel. Todos eram soldados valentes e chefes famosos dos seus grupos de famílias.
25 And they trespass against the God of their fathers, and go a-whoring after the gods of the peoples of the land whom God destroyed from their presence;
25 Mas o povo não foi fiel ao Deus dos seus antepassados e o abandonou para adorar os deuses das nações que Deus havia expulsado da terra.
26 and stir up doth the God of Israel the spirit of Pul king of Asshur, and the spirit of Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur, and he removeth them -- even the Reubenite, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh -- and bringeth them in to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and the river of Gozan unto this day.
26 Por isso, Deus fez com que Pul, rei da Assíria, que também era conhecido como Tiglate-Pileser, invadisse a terra deles. Ele levou embora as tribos de Rúben, de Gade e de Manassés do Leste e as fez morar nas cidades de Hala, Habor e Hara e na beira do rio Gozã, onde estão até hoje .
