1 And gathered are all Israel unto David to Hebron, saying, `Lo, thy bone and thy flesh [are] we;
1 Então todo o Israel se reuniu diante de Davi, em Hebrom. “Somos do mesmo povo e raça”, disseram.
2 even in time past, even in Saul`s being king, it is thou who art taking out and bringing in Israel, and Jehovah thy God saith to thee: Thou dost feed My people Israel, and thou art leader over My people Israel.`
2 “No passado, quando Saul era rei, era você que liderava o exército de Israel. E o S enhor , seu Deus, lhe disse: ‘Você será o pastor do meu povo, Israel. Será o líder do meu povo, Israel’.”
3 And all the elders of Israel come in unto the king to Hebron, and David maketh with them a covenant in Hebron before Jehovah, and they anoint David for king over Israel, according to the word of Jehovah by the hand of Samuel.
3 Então, ali em Hebrom, Davi fez um acordo diante do S enhor com todas as autoridades de Israel, e elas o ungiram rei de Israel, conforme o S enhor havia anunciado por meio de Samuel.
4 And David goeth, and all Israel, to Jerusalem -- it [is] Jebus -- and there the Jebusite, the inhabitants of the land.
4 Então Davi e todo o Israel foram a Jerusalém (isto é, Jebus), onde moravam os jebuseus, que viviam naquele lugar.
5 And the inhabitants of Jebus say to David, `Thou dost not come in hither;` and David captureth the fortress of Zion -- it [is] the city of David.
5 Os jebuseus zombaram de Davi: “Você jamais entrará aqui!”, mas Davi tomou a fortaleza de Sião, que hoje é chamada de Cidade de Davi.
6 And David saith, `Whoever smiteth the Jebusite first doth become head and prince;` and go up first doth Joab son of Zeruiah and becometh head.
6 Davi tinha dito a seus soldados: “O primeiro que atacar os jebuseus se tornará o comandante de meus exércitos!”. Joabe, filho de Zeruia, foi o primeiro a atacar, e assim se tornou o comandante dos exércitos de Davi.
7 And David dwelleth in the fortress, therefore they have called it, `City of David;`
7 Davi foi morar na fortaleza, e ela passou a ser chamada de Cidade de Davi.
8 and he buildeth the city round about, from Millo, and unto the circumference, and Joab restoreth the rest of the city.
8 Ampliou a cidade, desde o aterro até a região ao redor, enquanto Joabe reconstruiu o restante da cidade.
9 And David goeth, going on and becoming great, and Jehovah of Hosts [is] with him.
9 Davi foi se tornando cada vez mais poderoso, pois o S enhor dos Exércitos estava com ele.
10 And these [are] heads of the mighty ones whom David hath, who are strengthening themselves with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to cause him to reign, according to the word of Jehovah, over Israel.
10 Estes foram os líderes dos guerreiros valentes de Davi. Junto com todo o Israel, apoiaram firmemente o reinado de Davi, conforme o S enhor havia prometido a respeito de Israel.
11 And this [is] an account of the mighty ones whom David hath: Jashobeam son of a Hachmonite [is] head of the thirty; he is lifting up his spear against three hundred -- wounded, at one time.
11 Este é o registro dos guerreiros mais valentes de Davi. O primeiro era Jasobeão, o hacmonita, líder dos Três, isto é, dos guerreiros mais valentes dentre os soldados de Davi. Certa ocasião, usou sua lança para matar trezentos soldados inimigos numa só batalha.
12 And after him [is] Eleazar son of Dodo the Ahohite, he [is] among the three mighty;
12 O segundo era Eleazar, filho de Dodai, descendente de Aoí.
13 he hath been with David in Pas-Dammim, and the Philistines have been gathered there to battle, and a portion of the field is full of barley, and the people have fled from the face of the Philistines,
13 Estava com Davi quando os filisteus se reuniram para a batalha em Pas-Damim e atacaram os israelitas numa plantação de cevada. O exército israelita fugiu,
14 and they station themselves in the midst of the portion, and deliver it, and smite the Philistines, and Jehovah saveth -- a great salvation.
14 mas Eleazar e Davi mantiveram sua posição no meio do campo e derrotaram os filisteus. O S enhor os salvou e lhes deu grande vitória.
15 And three of the thirty heads go down on the rock unto David, unto the cave of Adullam, and the host of the Philistines is encamping in the valley of Rephaim,
15 Certa vez, Davi estava na rocha junto à caverna de Adulão, e o exército filisteu estava acampado no vale de Refaim. Os Três — que faziam parte dos Trinta, um grupo de elite entre os valentes de Davi — desceram para encontrá-lo em Adulão.
16 and David [is] then in the fortress, and the station of the Philistines [is] then in Beth-Lehem,
16 Nessa ocasião, Davi estava na fortaleza, e um destacamento filisteu havia ocupado a cidade de Belém.
17 and David longeth, and saith, `Who doth give me to drink water from the well of Beth-Lehem, that [is] at the gate!`
17 Davi comentou: “Ah, como seria bom beber a água pura do poço que fica junto ao portão de Belém!”.
18 And the three break through the camp of the Philistines, and draw water from the well of Beth-Lehem, that [is] at the gate, and bear and bring in unto David, and David hath not been willing to drink it, and poureth it out to Jehovah,
18 Então os Três atravessaram as fileiras dos filisteus, tiraram água do poço junto ao portão de Belém e a trouxeram a Davi. Ele, porém, se recusou a bebê-la. Em vez disso, derramou-a no chão como oferta ao S enhor .
19 and saith, `Far be it from me, by my God, to do this; the blood of these men do I drink with their lives? for with their lives they have brought it;` and he was not willing to drink it; these [things] did the three mighty ones.
19 “Que Deus não permita que eu beba desta água!”, exclamou. “Ela é tão preciosa quanto o sangue destes homens que arriscaram a vida para trazê-la.” E Davi não a bebeu. Esses são exemplos dos feitos desses três guerreiros.
20 And Abishai brother of Joab, he hath been head of the three: and he is lifting up his spear against three hundred -- wounded, and hath a name among three.
20 Abisai, irmão de Joabe, era o líder dos Trinta. Certa ocasião, usou sua lança para matar trezentos soldados inimigos numa só batalha. Foi por causa de feitos como esse que ele se tornou tão famoso quanto os Três.
21 Of the three by the two he is honoured, and becometh their head; and unto the [first] three he hath not come.
21 Abisai era o mais conhecido dos Trinta e era seu comandante, embora não fosse um dos Três.
22 Benaiah son of Jehoiada, son of a man of valour, of great deeds, from Kabzeel: he hath smitten the two lion-like Moabites, and he hath gone down and smitten the lion in the midst of the pit, in the day of snow.
22 Também havia Benaia, filho de Joiada, soldado valente de Cabzeel. Realizou muitos feitos heroicos, como matar dois grandes guerreiros de Moabe. Em outra ocasião, num dia de neve, perseguiu um leão até uma cova e o matou.
23 And he hath smitten the man, the Egyptian -- a man of measure, five by the cubit -- and in the hand of the Egyptian [is] a spear like a beam of weavers, and he goeth down unto him with a rod, and taketh violently away the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slayeth him with his own spear.
23 Uma vez, com apenas um cajado, matou um guerreiro egípcio de 2,25 metros de altura armado com uma lança da grossura de um eixo de tecelão. Benaia arrancou a lança da mão do egípcio e com ela o matou.
24 These [things] hath Benaiah son of Jehoiada done, and hath a name among the three mighty ones.
24 Feitos como esses tornaram Benaia tão famoso quanto os três guerreiros mais valentes.
25 Of the thirty, lo, he [is] honoured, and unto the [first] three he hath not come, and David setteth him over his guard.
25 Foi mais honrado que qualquer outro membro dos Trinta, embora não fosse um dos Três. Davi o nomeou comandante de sua guarda pessoal.
26 And the mighty ones of the forces [are] Asahel brother of Joab, Elhanan son of Dodo of Beth-Lehem,
26 Outros guerreiros valentes de Davi foram: Asael, irmão de Joabe; Elanã, filho de Dodô, de Belém;
27 Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,
27 Samá, de Harode; Helez, de Pelom;
28 Ira son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abi-Ezer the Annethothite,

29 Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,
