1 Therfore, britheren, Y biseche you bi the mercy of God, that ye yyue youre bodies a lyuynge sacrifice, hooli, plesynge to God, and youre seruyse resonable.
1 Portanto, irmãos, pelas misericórdias de Deus, peço que ofereçam o seu corpo como sacrifício vivo, santo e agradável a Deus. Este é o culto racional de vocês.
2 And nyle ye be confourmyd to this world, but be ye reformed in newnesse of youre wit, that ye preue which is the wille of God, good, and wel plesynge, and parfit.
2 E não vivam conforme os padrões deste mundo, mas deixem que Deus os transforme pela renovação da mente, para que possam experimentar qual é a boa, agradável e perfeita vontade de Deus.
3 For Y seie, bi the grace that is youun to me, to alle that ben among you, that ye sauere no more than it bihoueth to sauere, but for to sauere to sobrenesse; and to ech man, as God hath departid the mesure of feith.
3 Porque, pela graça que me foi dada, digo a cada um de vocês que não pense de si mesmo além do que convém. Pelo contrário, pense com moderação, segundo a medida da fé que Deus repartiu a cada um.
4 For as in o bodi we han many membris, but alle the membris han not the same dede;
4 Porque assim como num só corpo temos muitos membros, mas nem todos os membros têm a mesma função,
5 so we many ben o bodi in Crist, and eche ben membris oon of anothir.
5 assim também nós, embora sejamos muitos, somos um só corpo em Cristo e membros uns dos outros.
6 Therfor we that han yiftis dyuersynge, aftir the grace that is youun to vs,
6 Temos, porém, diferentes dons segundo a graça que nos foi dada: se é profecia, seja segundo a proporção da fé;
7 ethir prophecie, aftir the resoun of feith; ethir seruise, in mynystryng; ether he that techith, in techyng;
7 se é ministério, dediquemo-nos ao ministério; o que ensina dedique-se ao ensino;
8 he that stirith softli, in monestyng; he that yyueth, in symplenesse; he that is souereyn, in bisynesse; he that hath merci, in gladnesse.
8 o que exorta faça-o com dedicação; o que contribui, com generosidade; o que preside, com zelo; quem exerce misericórdia, com alegria.
9 Loue with outen feynyng, hatynge yuel, drawynge to good;
9 O amor seja sem hipocrisia. Odeiem o mal e apeguem-se ao bem.
10 louynge togidere the charite of britherhod. Eche come bifore to worschipen othere;
10 Amem uns aos outros com amor fraternal. Quanto à honra, deem sempre preferência aos outros.
11 not slow in bisynesse, feruent in spirit, seruynge to the Lord,
11 Quanto ao zelo, não sejam preguiçosos. Sejam fervorosos de espírito, servindo o Senhor.
12 ioiynge in hope, pacient in tribulacioun, bisy in preier,
12 Alegrem-se na esperança, sejam pacientes na tribulação e perseverem na oração.
13 yyuynge good to the nedis of seyntis, kepynge hospitalite.
13 Ajudem a suprir as necessidades dos santos. Pratiquem a hospitalidade.
14 Blesse ye men that pursuen you; blesse ye, and nyle ye curse;
14 Abençoem aqueles que perseguem vocês; abençoem e não amaldiçoem.
15 for to ioye with men that ioyen, for to wepe with men that wepen.
15 Alegrem-se com os que se alegram e chorem com os que choram.
16 Fele ye the same thing togidere; not sauerynge heiy thingis, but consentynge to meke thingis. Nile ye be prudent anentis you silf;
16 Tenham o mesmo modo de pensar de uns para com os outros. Em vez de serem orgulhosos, sejam solidários com os humildes. Não sejam sábios aos seus próprios olhos.
17 to no man yeldynge yuel for yuel, but purueye ye good thingis, not oneli bifor God, but also bifor alle men.
17 Não paguem a ninguém mal por mal; procurem fazer o bem diante de todos.
18 If it may be don, that that is of you, haue ye pees with alle men.
18 Se possível, no que depender de vocês, vivam em paz com todas as pessoas.
19 Ye moost dere britheren, not defendynge you silf, but yyue ye place to wraththe; for it is writun, The Lord seith, To me veniaunce, and Y schal yelde.
19 Meus amados, não façam justiça com as próprias mãos, mas deem lugar à ira de Deus, pois está escrito: “A mim pertence a vingança; eu é que retribuirei, diz o Senhor.”
20 But if thin enemy hungrith, fede thou hym; if he thirstith, yyue thou drynke to hym; for thou doynge this thing schalt gidere togidere colis on his heed.
20 Façam o contrário: “Se o seu inimigo tiver fome, dê-lhe de comer; se tiver sede, dê-lhe de beber; porque, fazendo isto, você amontoará brasas vivas sobre a cabeça dele.”
21 Nyle thou be ouercomun of yuel, but ouercome thou yuel bi good.
21 Não se deixe vencer pelo mal, mas vença o mal com o bem.
