1 And whanne his twelue disciplis weren clepid togidere, he yaf to hem powere of vnclene spiritis, to caste hem out of men, and to heele eueri langour, and sijknesse.
1 Tendo Jesus chamado os seus doze discípulos, deu-lhes autoridade sobre espíritos imundos para os expulsar e para curar todo tipo de doenças e enfermidades.
2 And these ben the names of the twelue apostlis; the firste, Symount, that is clepid Petre, and Andrew, his brothir; James of Zebede, and Joon, his brothir; Filip, and Bartholomeu;
2 Ora, os nomes dos doze apóstolos são estes: primeiro, Simão, chamado Pedro, e André, seu irmão; Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, e João, seu irmão;
3 Thomas, and Matheu, pupplican; and James Alfey, and Tadee;
3 Filipe e Bartolomeu; Tomé e Mateus, o publicano; Tiago, filho de Alfeu, e Tadeu;
4 Symount Chananee, and Judas Scarioth, that bitrayede Crist.
4 Simão, o Zelote, e Judas Iscariotes, que foi quem o traiu.
5 Jhesus sente these twelue, and comaundide hem, and seide, Go ye not `in to the weie of hethene men, and entre ye not in to the citees of Samaritans;
5 Jesus enviou esses doze, dando-lhes as seguintes instruções:
6 but rather go ye to the scheep of the hous of Israel, that han perischid.
6 mas, de preferência, procurem as ovelhas perdidas da casa de Israel.
7 And go ye, and preche ye, and seie, that the kyngdam of heuenes shal neiye;
7 Pelo caminho, preguem que está próximo o Reino dos Céus.
8 heele ye sike men, reise ye deede men, clense ye mesels, caste ye out deuelis; freeli ye han takun, freli yyue ye.
8 Curem enfermos, ressuscitem mortos, purifiquem leprosos, expulsem demônios. Vocês receberam de graça; portanto, deem de graça.
9 Nyle ye welde gold, nether siluer, ne money in youre girdlis, not a scrippe in the weie,
9 Não levem ouro, nem prata, nem cobre em seus cintos;
10 nether twei cootis, nethir shoon, nether a yerde; for a werkman is worthi his mete.
10 nem sacola para o caminho, nem duas túnicas, nem sandálias, nem bordão; porque o trabalhador é digno do seu alimento.
11 In to what euere citee or castel ye schulen entre, axe ye who therynne is worthi, and there dwelle ye, til ye go out.
11 — E, em qualquer cidade ou aldeia em que vocês entrarem, perguntem quem nelas é digno; e fiquem ali até saírem daquele lugar.
12 And whanne ye goon in to an hous, `grete ye it, and seyn, Pees to this hous.
12 Ao entrarem na casa, saúdem-na.
13 And if thilk hous be worthi, youre pees schal come on it; but if that hous be not worthi, youre pees schal turne ayen to you.
13 Se a casa for digna, que a paz de vocês venha sobre ela; se, porém, não for digna, a paz voltará para vocês.
14 And who euere resseyueth not you, nethir herith youre wordis, go ye fro that hous or citee, and sprenge of the dust of youre feet.
14 Se alguém não quiser recebê-los nem ouvir as palavras de vocês, ao saírem daquela casa ou daquela cidade, sacudam o pó dos pés.
15 Treuly Y seie to you, it shal be more suffrable to the loond of men of Sodom and of Gommor in the dai of iugement, than to thilke citee.
15 Em verdade lhes digo que haverá menos rigor para Sodoma e Gomorra, no Dia do Juízo, do que para aquela cidade.
16 Lo! Y sende you as scheep in the myddil of wolues; therfor be ye sliy as serpentis, and symple as dowues.
16 — Eis que eu os envio como ovelhas para o meio de lobos. Portanto, sejam prudentes como as serpentes e simples como as pombas.
17 But be ye war of men, for thei schulen take you in counseilis, and thei schulen bete you in her synagogis;
17 Tenham cuidado com os homens, porque eles os entregarão aos tribunais e os açoitarão nas suas sinagogas.
18 and to meyris, or presidentis, and to kyngis, ye schulen be lad for me, in witnessyng to hem, and to the hethen men.
18 Por minha causa vocês serão levados à presença de governadores e de reis, para lhes servir de testemunho, a eles e aos gentios.
19 But whanne thei take you, nyle ye thenke, hou or what thing ye schulen speke, for it shal be youun `to you in that our, what ye schulen speke;
19 E, quando entregarem vocês, não se preocupem quanto a como ou o que irão falar, porque, naquela hora, lhes será concedido o que vocês dirão.
20 for it ben not ye that speken, but the spirit of youre fadir, that spekith in you.
20 Afinal, não são vocês que estão falando, mas o Espírito do Pai de vocês é quem fala por meio de vocês.
21 `And the brother shal take the brother in to deeth, and the fader the sone, and sones schulen rise ayens fadir and modir, and schulen turmente hem bi deeth.
21 — Um irmão entregará à morte outro irmão, e o pai entregará o filho. Haverá filhos que se levantarão contra os seus pais e os matarão.
22 And ye schulen be in hate to alle men for my name; but he that shall dwelle stille in to the ende, shal be saaf.
22 Todos odiarão vocês por causa do meu nome; aquele, porém, que ficar firme até o fim, esse será salvo.
23 And whanne thei pursuen you in this citee, fle ye in to anothir. Treuli Y seie to you, ye schulen not ende the citees of Israel, to for that mannus sone come.
23 Quando, porém, perseguirem vocês numa cidade, fujam para outra. Porque em verdade lhes digo que não terão percorrido as cidades de Israel, até que venha o Filho do Homem.
24 The disciple is not aboue the maistir, ne the seruaunt aboue hys lord;
24 — O discípulo não está acima do seu mestre, nem o servo está acima do seu senhor.
25 it is ynowy to the disciple, that he be as his maistir, and to the seruaunt as his lord. If thei han clepid the hosebonde man Belsabub, hou myche more his houshold meyne?
25 Basta ao discípulo ser como o seu mestre, e ao servo ser como o seu senhor. Se chamaram o dono da casa de Belzebu, quanto mais os membros da sua casa!
26 Therfor drede ye not hem; for no thing is hid, that schal not be shewid; and no thing is priuey, that schal not be wist.
26 — Portanto, não tenham medo deles. Pois não há nada encoberto que não venha a ser revelado, nem oculto que não venha a ser conhecido.
27 That thing that Y seie to you in derknessis, seie ye in the liyt; and preche ye on housis, that thing that ye heeren in the ere.
27 O que lhes digo às escuras, repitam a plena luz; e o que é dito para vocês ao pé do ouvido, proclamem dos telhados.
28 And nyle ye drede hem that sleen the bodi; for thei moun not sle the soule; but rather drede ye hym, that mai lese bothe soule and bodi in to helle.
28 Não temam os que matam o corpo, mas não podem matar a alma; pelo contrário, temam aquele que pode fazer perecer no inferno tanto a alma como o corpo.
29 Whether twei sparewis ben not seeld for an halpeny? and oon of hem shal not falle on the erthe with outen youre fadir.
29 — Não se vendem dois pardais por uma moedinha? Entretanto, nenhum deles cairá no chão sem o consentimento do Pai de vocês.
30 `And alle the heeris of youre heed ben noumbrid. Therfor nyle ye drede; ye ben betere than many sparewis.
30 E, quanto a vocês, até os cabelos da cabeça de vocês estão todos contados.
31 Therfor euery man that schal knouleche me bifore men, Y schal knouleche hym bifor my fadir that is in heuenes.
31 Portanto, não temam! Vocês valem bem mais do que muitos pardais.
32 — ausente —
32 — Portanto, todo aquele que me confessar diante dos outros, também eu o confessarei diante de meu Pai, que está nos céus;
33 But he that shal denye me bifor men, and I shal denye him bifor my fadir that is in heuenes.
33 mas aquele que me negar diante das pessoas, também eu o negarei diante de meu Pai, que está nos céus.
34 Nile ye deme, that Y cam to sende pees in to erthe; Y cam not to sende pees, but swerd.
34 — Não pensem que eu vim trazer paz à terra; não vim trazer paz, mas espada.
35 For Y cam to departe a man ayens his fadir, and the douytir ayens hir modir, and the sones wijf ayens the housbondis modir;
35 Pois vim causar divisão entre o homem e o seu pai; entre a filha e a sua mãe e entre a nora e a sua sogra.
36 and the enemyes of a man ben `thei, that ben homeli with him.
36 Assim, os inimigos de uma pessoa serão os da sua própria casa.
37 He that loueth fadir or modir more than me, is not worthi to me. And he that loueth sone or douyter ouer me, is not worthi to me.
37 — Quem ama o seu pai ou a sua mãe mais do que a mim não é digno de mim; quem ama o seu filho ou a sua filha mais do que a mim não é digno de mim;
38 And he that takith not his croos, and sueth me, is not worthi to me.
38 e quem não toma a sua cruz e vem após mim não é digno de mim.
39 He that fyndith his lijf, shal lose it; and he that lesith his lijf for me, shal fynde it.
39 Quem acha a sua vida a perderá; e quem perde a vida por minha causa, esse a achará.
40 He that resseyueth you, resseyueth me; and he that resseyueth me, resseyueth hym that sente me.
40 — Quem recebe vocês é a mim que recebe; e quem recebe a mim recebe aquele que me enviou.
41 He that resseyueth a prophete in the name of a prophete, shal take the mede of a prophete. And he that resseyueth a iust man in the name of a iust man, schal take the mede of a iust man.
41 Quem recebe um profeta, no caráter de profeta, receberá a recompensa de profeta; quem recebe um justo, no caráter de justo, receberá a recompensa de justo.
42 And who euer yyueth drynke to oon of these leeste a cuppe of coolde watir oonli in the name of a disciple, treuli Y seie to you, he shal not leese his mede.
42 E quem der de beber, ainda que seja um copo de água fria, a um destes pequeninos, por ser este meu discípulo, em verdade lhes digo que de modo nenhum perderá a sua recompensa.
