1 The Lord spak to Moises, and seide,
1 O Senhor Deus mandou Moisés
2 Speke thou to al the cumpenye of the sones of Israel, and thou schalt seie to hem, Be ye hooli, for Y am hooli, youre Lord God.
2 dizer ao povo de Israel o seguinte: — Sejam santos , pois eu, o
3 Ech man drede his fadir and his modir. Kepe ye my sabatis; Y am youre Lord God.
3 Cada um respeite a sua mãe e o seu pai, e todos guardem o sábado. Eu sou o Senhor , o Deus de vocês.
4 Nyle ye be turned to ydols, nether ye schulen make to you yotun goddis; Y am youre Lord God.
4 — Não adorem ídolos, nem façam deuses de metal. Eu sou o Senhor , o Deus de vocês.
5 If ye offren a sacrifice of pesible thingis to the Lord, that it be quemeful,
5 — Quando matarem um animal para uma oferta de paz, façam como eu mandei, e assim eu aceitarei a oferta.
6 ye schulen ete it in that day, in which it is offrid, and in the tother dai; sotheli what euer thing is residue in to the thridde dai, ye schulen brenne in fier.
6 A carne deverá ser comida no dia em que o animal for morto ou então no dia seguinte. Mas, se sobrar carne para o terceiro dia, ela deverá ser queimada,
7 If ony man etith therof aftir twei daes, he schal be vnhooli, and gilti of vnfeithfulnes `ether wickidnesse; and he schal bere his wickidnesse,
7 pois ficou impura . Se alguém comer a carne nesse dia, eu não aceitarei a oferta,
8 for he defoulide the hooli thing of the Lord, and his soule schal perische fro his puple.
8 e a pessoa que comeu deverá ser castigada, pois profanou aquilo que para mim é sagrado. Essa pessoa será expulsa do meio do povo de Israel.
9 Whanne thou schalt repe the fruytis of thi lond, thou schalt not kitte `til to the ground the corn of the lond, nether thou schalt gadere the eeris of corn that ben left;
9 — Quando fizerem a colheita do trigo, não colham as espigas dos pés que ficam na beira do campo, nem voltem atrás para pegar as espigas que não tiverem sido colhidas.
10 nethir in thi vyner thou schalt gadere reysyns and greynes fallynge doun, but thou schalt leeue to be gaderid of pore men and pilgryms; Y am youre Lord God.
10 E não façam uma segunda colheita nas plantações de uvas, para colher os cachos que ficaram, nem voltem atrás para catar os cachos que tiverem caído no chão. Deixem isso para os pobres e para os estrangeiros. Eu sou o Senhor , o Deus de vocês.
11 Ye schulen not do thefte. Ye schulen not lye, and no man disseyue his neiybour.
11 — Não roube, não minta e não engane os outros.
12 Thou schalt not forswere in my name, nethir thou schalt defoule the name of thi God; Y am the Lord.
12 Não faça juramentos falsos em meu nome, pois isso é profanar o meu nome. Eu sou o Senhor .
13 Thou schalt not make fals chalenge to thi neiybore, nethir thou schalt oppresse hym bi violence. The werk of thin hirid man schal not dwelle at thee til the morewtid.
13 — Não explore, nem roube os outros. Não segure até o dia seguinte o pagamento do trabalhador diarista.
14 Thou schalt not curse a deef man, nether thou schalt sette an hurtyng bifor a blynd man; but thou schalt drede thi Lord God, for Y am the Lord.
14 Não amaldiçoe um surdo, nem ponha na frente de um cego alguma coisa que o faça tropeçar. Tenha respeito para comigo, o seu Deus. Eu sou o Senhor .
15 Thou schalt not do that, that is wickid, nether thou schalt deme vniustli; biholde thou not the persoone of a pore man, nethir onoure thou the face of a myyti man; deme thou iustli to thi neiybore.
15 — Quando julgar alguma causa, não seja injusto; não favoreça os humildes, nem procure agradar os poderosos. Julgue todas as causas com justiça.
16 Thou schalt not be a sclaunderere, nether a priuey bacbitere in the puplis; thou schalt not stonde ayens the blood of thi neiybore; Y am the Lord.
16 Não ande espalhando mentiras no meio do povo, nem faça uma acusação falsa que possa causar a morte de alguém. Eu sou o Senhor .
17 Thou schalt not hate thi brothir in thin herte, but repreue hym opynly, lest thou haue synne on hym.
17 — Não guarde ódio no coração contra outro israelita, mas corrija-o com franqueza para que você não acabe cometendo um pecado por causa dele.
18 Thou schalt not seke veniaunce, nether thou schalt be myndeful of the wrong of thi cyteseyns; thou schalt loue thi freend as thi silf; Y am the Lord.
18 Não se vingue, nem guarde ódio de alguém do seu povo, mas ame os outros como você ama a você mesmo. Eu sou o Senhor .
19 Kepe ye my lawis. Thou schalt not make thi beestis to gendre with the lyuynge beestis of another kynde. Thou schalt not sowe the feeld with dyuerse sede. Thou schalt not be clothid in a cloth, which is wouun of twei thingis.
19 — Obedeçam às minhas leis . Não cruzem animais domésticos de espécies diferentes. Não semeiem tipos diferentes de semente no mesmo campo. Não vistam roupas feitas de tipos diferentes de tecidos.
20 If a man slepith with a womman by fleischly knowyng of seed, which womman is an `hand maide, ye, a noble womman of kyn, and netheles is not ayenbouyt bi prijs, nethir rewardid with fredom, bothe schulen be betun, and thei schulen not die, for sche was not fre.
20 — Se um homem tiver relações com uma escrava que já foi prometida para ser a concubina de outro homem, mas que ainda não foi comprada, nem posta em liberdade, o homem e a escrava serão castigados, mas não serão mortos, pois ela ainda não estava em liberdade.
21 Sotheli the man for his trespas schal offre a ram to the Lord, at the dore of the tabernacle of witnessyng;
21 Nesse caso, para tirar a sua culpa, o homem deverá apresentar como oferta a Deus, o Senhor , um carneiro, que ele levará até a entrada da Tenda Sagrada .
22 and the preest schal preye for hym, and for his trespas, bifor the Lord; and the Lord schal be merciful to hym, and the synne schal be foryouun.
22 Ali, na presença do Senhor , o sacerdote oferecerá o carneiro a Deus e assim conseguirá o perdão do pecado que o homem cometeu.
23 Whanne ye han entrid in to the lond of biheest, and han plauntid therynne appil trees, ye schulen do awei the firste flouris; the applis whiche tho trees bryngen forth, schulen be vncleene to you, nethir ye schulen ete of tho.
23 — Quando vocês estiverem morando na terra de Canaã e plantarem árvores frutíferas, não comam as frutas que as árvores derem nos primeiros três anos; essas frutas são impuras.
24 Forsothe in the fourthe yeer al the fruyt of tho trees schal be `halewid preiseful to the Lord;
24 No quarto ano as frutas serão dedicadas a mim, o Senhor , como oferta de louvor.
25 forsothe in the fifthe yeer ye schulen ete fruytis, and schulen gadere applis, whiche tho trees bryngen forth; Y am youre Lord God.
25 No quinto ano vocês poderão comer as frutas, e assim as árvores produzirão cada vez mais. Eu sou o Senhor , o Deus de vocês.
26 Ye schulen not ete fleisch with blood. Ye schulen not make veyn diuynyng, nether ye schulen kepe dremes;
26 — Não comam carne em que houver sangue. Não procurem adivinhar o futuro, nem façam feitiçarias.
27 nether ye schulen clippe the heer in round, nether ye schulen schaue the beerd;
27 Não cortem o cabelo dos lados da cabeça, nem aparem a barba.
28 and on deed men ye schulen not kitte youre fleischis, nether ye schulen make to you ony fyguris, ether markis in youre fleisch; Y am the Lord.
28 Quando chorarem a morte de alguém, não se cortem, nem façam marcas no corpo. Eu sou o Senhor .
29 Sette thou not thi douytir to do leccherie for hire, and the lond be defoulid, and be fillid with synne.
29 — Não desonrem as suas filhas entregando-as para serem prostitutas nos templos pagãos . Isso encheria a terra de idolatria e de pecado.
30 Kepe ye my sabatis, and drede ye my seyntuarie; Y `am the Lord.
30 Guardem o sábado, que é um dia sagrado, e respeitem o lugar onde sou adorado. Eu sou o Senhor .
31 Bowe ye not to astronomyers, nether axe ye ony thing of fals dyuynours, that ye be defoulid bi hem; Y am youre Lord God.
31 — Não procurem a ajuda dos que invocam os espíritos dos mortos e dos que adivinham o futuro. Isso é pecado e fará com que vocês fiquem impuros. Eu sou o Senhor , o Deus de vocês.
32 Rise thou bifor an hoor heed, and onoure thou the persoone of an eld man, and drede thou thi Lord God; Y am the Lord.
32 — Fiquem de pé na presença das pessoas idosas e as tratem com todo o respeito; e honrem a mim, o Deus de vocês. Eu sou o Senhor .
33 If a comelyng enhabitith in youre lond, and dwellith among you, dispise ye not hym,
33 — Não maltratem os estrangeiros que vivem na terra de vocês.
34 but be he among you as a man borun in the lond; and ye schulen loue hym as you silf, for also ye weren comelyngis in the lond of Egipt; Y am youre Lord God.
34 Eles devem ser tratados como se fossem israelitas; amem os estrangeiros, pois vocês foram estrangeiros no Egito e devem amá-los como vocês amam a vocês mesmos. Eu sou o Senhor , o Deus de vocês.
35 Nyle ye do ony wickid thing in doom, in reule, in weiyte, and in mesure; the balance be iust,
35 — Não prejudiquem os outros, usando medidas falsas de comprimento, peso ou capacidade.
36 and the weiytis be euene, the buschel be iust, and the sextarie be euene; Y am youre Lord God, that ladde you out of the lond of Egipt.
36 Usem balanças certas, pesos certos e medidas certas. Eu sou o Senhor , o Deus de vocês. Eu os tirei do Egito.
37 Kepe ye alle myn heestis, and alle domes, and do ye tho; Y am the Lord.
37 — Obedeçam às minhas leis e aos meus mandamentos. Eu sou o Senhor .
