1 And the Lord spak to Moises, `and seide, Speke thou to the sones of Israel,
1 O S enhor disse a Moisés:
2 and thou schalt seie to hem, If a womman, whanne sche hath resseyued seed, childith a knaue child, sche schal be vnclene bi seuene daies bi the daies of departyng of corrupt blood, that renneth bi monethis;
2 “Dê as seguintes instruções ao povo de Israel. Se uma mulher engravidar e der à luz um filho, ficará cerimonialmente impura por sete dias, como acontece durante a menstruação.
3 and the yong child schal be circumsidid in the eiytithe dai.
3 No oitavo dia, circuncidem o menino.
4 Sotheli sche schal dwelle thre and thretti daies in the blood of hir purifiyng; sche schal not touche ony hooli thing, nethir sche schal entre in to the seyntuarie, til the daies of her clensing be fillid.
4 Depois de esperar 33 dias, a mulher estará purificada do sangramento do parto. Durante o período de purificação, não deverá tocar em coisa alguma que seja consagrada. Também não poderá entrar no santuário enquanto não terminar o período de purificação.
5 Sotheli if sche childith a female, sche schal be vnclene twei woukis, bi the custom of flowyng of vnclene blood, and `thre scoor and sixe daies sche schal dwelle in the blood of her clensyng.
5 Se a mulher der à luz uma filha, ficará cerimonialmente impura por duas semanas, como acontece durante a menstruação. Depois de esperar 66 dias, estará purificada do sangramento do parto.
6 And whanne the daies of hir clensyng, for a sone, ether for a douytir, ben fillid, sche schal brynge a lomb of o yeer in to brent sacrifice, and a `bryd of a culuer, ethir a turtle, for synne, to the dore of the tabernacle of witnessyng;
6 “Quando se completar o tempo de purificação pelo nascimento de um filho ou de uma filha, a mulher levará um cordeiro de um ano como holocausto e um pombinho ou rolinha para a oferta pelo pecado. Levará as ofertas ao sacerdote à entrada da tenda do encontro.
7 and sche schal yyue to the preest, which schal offre tho bifor the Lord, and schal preye for hir, and so sche schal be clensid fro the fowyng of hir blood. This is the lawe of a womman childynge a male, ethir a female.
7 O sacerdote as apresentará ao S enhor para fazer expiação pela mulher. Ela voltará a ficar cerimonialmente pura depois do sangramento do parto. Essas são as instruções para a mulher depois do nascimento de um filho ou de uma filha.
8 That if hir hond fyndith not, nethir may offre a lomb, sche schal take twei turtlis, ethir twei `briddis of culueres, oon in to brent sacrifice, and the tother for synne; and the preest schal preye for hir, and so sche schal be clensid.
8 “Se a mulher não tiver condições de levar um cordeiro, levará duas rolinhas ou dois pombinhos. Um será para o holocausto, e o outro, para a oferta pelo pecado. O sacerdote os sacrificará para fazer expiação pela mulher, e ela ficará cerimonialmente pura”.
