1 Forsothe the sones of Israel braken `the comaundement, and mystoken of the halewid thing; for Achar, the son of Charmy, sone of Zabdi, sone of Zare, of the lynage of Juda, toke sum thing of the halewid thing; and the Lord was wrooth ayens the sones of Israel.
1 Entretanto, os filhos de Israel cometeram uma transgressão na coisa amaldiçoada; pois Acã, o filho de Carmi, filho de Zabdi, filho de Zerá, da tribo de Judá, tomou da coisa amaldiçoada, e a ira do SENHOR foi acesa contra os filhos de Israel.
2 And whanne Josue sente men fro Jerico ayens Hai, which is bisidis Bethauen, at the eest coost of the citee Bethel, he seide to hem, Stie ye, and aspie ye the lond. Whiche filliden `the comaundementis, and aspieden Hay;
2 E Josué enviou homens de Jericó para Ai, que fica ao lado de Bete-Áven, no lado leste de Betel, e lhes falou, dizendo: Subam e vejam a região. E os homens subiram e viram Ai.
3 and thei turneden ayen, and seiden to hym, `Not al the puple stie, but twey ether thre thousynde of men go, and do awei the citee; whi schal al the puple be trauelid in veyn ayens feweste enemyes?
3 E eles retornaram a Josué, e lhe disseram: Não deixes que todo o povo suba; mas deixa que cerca de dois ou três mil homens subam e firam Ai; e não faças com que todo o povo se fatigue para lá; pois eles são poucos.
4 Therfor thre thousynde of fiyteris stieden, whiche turneden the backis anoon,
4 Assim, cerca de três mil homens do povo subiram para lá; e eles fugiram diante dos homens de Ai.
5 and weren smytun of the men of Hay; and sixe and thretti men of hem `felden doun; and aduersaries pursueden hem fro the yate til to Saberym; and thei felden doun fleynge bi lowe places. And the herte of the puple dredde, and was maad vnstidefast at the licnesse of watir.
5 E os homens de Ai feriram dentre eles, cerca de trinta e seis homens; pois eles os perseguiram desde a frente da porta até Sebarim, e os feriram na descida; por isso o coração do povo se derreteu e se tornou como água.
6 Sotheli Josue torente hise clothis, and felde lowe to the erthe bifor the arke of the Lord, `til to euentid, as wel he, as alle the elde men of Israel; and thei castiden powdir on her heedis.
6 E Josué rasgou as suas vestes, e caiu com a face em terra diante da arca do SENHOR até o anoitecer, ele e os anciãos de Israel, e colocaram pó sobre as suas cabeças.
7 And Josue seide, Alas! alas! Lord God, what woldist thou lede this puple ouer the flood Jordan, that thou schuldist bitake vs in the hond of Ammorrey, and schulde leese vs? Y wolde, that as we bygunnen, we hadden dwellid biyondis Jordan.
7 E Josué disse: Ah, ó Senhor DEUS, afinal, por que trouxeste este povo através do Jordão? Para nos entregar na mão dos amorreus, para nos destruir? Quem dera Deus, tivéssemos nos contentado e habitado no outro lado do Jordão!
8 My Lord God, what schal Y seie, seynge Israel turnynge the backis to hise enemyes?
8 Ó Senhor, o que hei de dizer, quando Israel virar as costas diante dos seus inimigos?
9 Cananeys, and alle dwelleris of the lond schulen here, and thei schulen be gaderid togidere, and schulen cumpas vs, and schulen do awei oure name fro erthe; and what schalt thou do to thi grete name?
9 Pois os cananeus e todos os habitantes da terra ouvirão isto, e nos cercarão ao redor, e extirparão o nosso nome da terra; e o que tu farás para com o teu grande nome?
10 And the Lord seide to Josue, Rise thou; whi liggist thou low in the erthe?
10 E o SENHOR disse a Josué: Levanta-te, por que jazes tu sobre a tua face?
11 Israel synnede, and brak my couenaunt; and thei token of the halewid thing, and thei han stole, and lieden, and hidden among her vessels.
11 Israel pecou e eles também transgrediram o meu pacto que lhes ordenei; pois até mesmo tomaram da coisa amaldiçoada, e também roubaram, e dissimularam, e colocaram-na entre os seus próprios apetrechos.
12 And Israel may not stonde bifore hise enemyes, and Israel schal fle hem, for it is defoulid with cursyng; Y schal no more be with you, til ye al to breke hym which is gilti of this trespas.
12 Por isso os filhos de Israel não conseguiram se manter de pé diante dos seus inimigos, mas viraram as suas costas diante dos seus inimigos, porque estavam amaldiçoados; tampouco continuarei eu convosco, salvo se destruirdes o amaldiçoado dentre vós.
13 Rise thou, halewe the puple, and seie thou to hem, Be ye halewid ayens to morewe; for the Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, A! Israel! cursyng is in the myddis of thee; thou schalt not mowe stonde bifor thin enemyes, til he that is defoulyd bi this trespas, be doon awei fro thee.
13 Levanta-te, santifica o povo e diz: Santificai-vos para amanhã, pois assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel: Há uma coisa amaldiçoada no meio de ti, ó Israel, tu não poderás se pôr de pé diante dos teus inimigos enquanto não retirardes a coisa amaldiçoada do meio de vós.
14 And ye schulen come eerli, alle men bi youre lynagis; and whateuer lynage the lot schal fynde, it schal come bi hise meynees; and the meynee schal come bi housis, and the hous schal come bi men.
14 Pela manhã, portanto, vós sereis trazidos segundo as suas tribos; e será que a tribo que o SENHOR tomar virá segundo as suas famílias; e a família que o SENHOR tomar virá pelas suas casas; e a casa que o SENHOR tomar virá homem por homem.
15 And whoeuer schal be takun with this trespas, he schal be brent bi fier with al his catel, for he brak the couenaunt of the Lord, and dide vnleueful thing in Israel.
15 E será que, aquele que for apanhado com a coisa amaldiçoada será queimado no fogo, ele e tudo o que possui; pois transgrediu o pacto do SENHOR, e porque praticou loucura em Israel.
16 Therfor Josue roos eerly, and settide in ordre Israel, bi hise lynagis; and the lynage of Juda was foundun;
16 Assim, Josué levantou-se de manhã cedo e trouxe Israel pelas suas tribos, e a tribo de Judá foi tomada;
17 and whanne that lynage was brouyt forth bi hise meynees, the meyne of Zare was foundun. And Josue brouyte forth it bi men, ethir housis, and foond Zabdi;
17 e ele trouxe a família de Judá; e tomou a família de Zerá; e ele trouxe a família de Zerá, homem por homem; e Zabdi foi apanhado;
18 whos hows he departide in to alle men bi hemsilf; and he foond Achar, the sone of Charmy, sone of Zabdi, sone of Zare, of the lynage of Juda.
18 e ele trouxe a sua casa, homem por homem; e Acã, filho de Carmi, filho de Zabdi, filho de Zerá, da tribo de Judá foi apanhado.
19 And he seide to Achar, My sone, yyue thou glorie to the Lord God of Israel, and knowleche thou, and schew to me what thou hast do; hide thou not.
19 E Josué disse a Acã: Filho meu, eu te rogo, dá glória ao SENHOR Deus de Israel e faz uma confissão a ele; e me diga agora o que fizeste; não o escondas de mim.
20 And Achar answeryde to Josue, and seide to hym, Verily, Y synnede bifor the Lord God of Israel, and Y dide `so and so;
20 E Acã respondeu a Josué, e disse: Em verdade, pequei contra o SENHOR, Deus de Israel, e fiz assim e assim.
21 for among the spuylis Y siy a reed mentil ful good, and two hundrid siclis of siluer, and a goldun reule of fifti siclis; and Y coueytide, and took awei, and hidde in the erthe, ayens the myddis of my tabernacle; and Y hilide the siluer with erthe doluun.
21 Quando vi entre os despojos uma boa veste babilônica, e duzentos shekels de prata, e uma cunha de ouro que pesava cinquenta shekels, eu os cobicei e os apanhei; e eis que estão escondidos na terra, no meio da minha tenda, e a prata embaixo dela.
22 Therfor Josue sente mynystris, whyche runnen to his tabernacle, and foundun alle thingis hid in the same place, and the siluer togidere; and thei token awei fro the tente,
22 Então, Josué enviou mensageiros, e eles correram até a tenda; e eis que aquilo estava escondido na sua tenda, e a prata debaixo dela.
23 and brouyten `tho thingis to Josue, and to alle the sones of Israel; and thei castiden forth bifor the Lord.
23 E eles pegaram tudo do meio da tenda, e trouxeram até Josué, e até todos os filhos de Israel, e os puseram diante do SENHOR.
24 Therfor Josue took Achar, the sone of Zare, and the siluer, and the mentil, and the goldun reule, and hise sones, and douytris, oxun, assis, and scheep, and the tabernacle `it silf, and al the purtenaunce of household, and al Israel with Josue; and thei ledden hem to the valei of Achar;
24 E Josué, e com ele todo o Israel, tomaram a Acã, filho de Zerá, a prata, veste, a cunha de ouro, os seus filhos, as suas filhas, os seus bois, os seus jumentos, as suas ovelhas, a sua tenda e tudo o que ele possuía; e os trouxeram até o vale de Acor.
25 where Josue seide, For thou disturblidist vs, the Lord schal disturble thee in this dai. And al Israel stonyde hym; and alle thingis that weren hise, weren wastid bi fier.
25 E Josué disse: Por que nos perturbaste? O SENHOR te perturbará nesse dia. E todo o Israel o apedrejou, e os queimaram no fogo depois de os terem apedrejado.
26 And thei gaderiden on hym a greet heep of stoonys, whiche dwellen til in to present day. And the strong veniaunce of the Lord was turned awei fro hem; and the name of that place was clepid the valey of Achar `til to day.
26 E levantaram sobre ele uma grande pilha de pedras até os dias de hoje. Assim o SENHOR se voltou do ardor da sua ira. Por isso o nome daquele lugar foi chamado Vale de Acor, até este dia.
