1 And whanne thei weren passid ouer, the Lord seide to Josue,
1 Tendo, pois, todo o povo passado o Jordão, falou o Senhor a Josué, dizendo:
2 Chese thou twelue men,
2 Tomai do povo doze homens, um de cada tribo,
3 by ech lynage o man, and comaunde thou to hem, that thei take fro the myddis of the trow of Jordan, where the `feet of preestis stoden, twelue hardiste stoonys; whiche thou schalt sette in the place of castels, where ye schulen sette tentis in this nyyt.
3 e ordenai-lhes, dizendo: Daqui do meio do Jordão, do lugar onde, parados, pousaram os sacerdotes os pés, tomai doze pedras; e levai-as convosco e depositai-as no alojamento em que haveis de passar esta noite.
4 And Josue clepide twelue men, whiche he hadde chose of the sones of Israel, of ech lynage o man;
4 Chamou, pois, Josué os doze homens que escolhera dos filhos de Israel,
5 and he seide to hem, Go ye bifore the arke of youre Lord God to the myddis of Jordan, and bere ye fro thennus in youre schuldris ech man o stoon, bi the noumbre of the sones of Israel,
5 um de cada tribo, e disse-lhes: Passai adiante da arca do Senhor , vosso Deus, ao meio do Jordão; e cada um levante sobre o ombro uma pedra, segundo o número das tribos dos filhos de Israel,
6 that it be a signe bitwixe you. And whanne youre sones schulen axe you to morewe, that is, in tyme `to comynge, and schulen seie, What wolen these stonus `to hem silf?
6 para que isto seja por sinal entre vós; e, quando vossos filhos, no futuro, perguntarem, dizendo: Que vos significam estas pedras?,
7 ye schulen answere to hem, The watris of Jordan failiden bifor the arke of boond of pees of the Lord, whanne the arke passide Jordan; therfor these stoonus ben set in to mynde of the sones of Israel, til in to withouten ende.
7 então, lhes direis que as águas do Jordão foram cortadas diante da arca da Aliança do Senhor ; em passando ela, foram as águas do Jordão cortadas. Estas pedras serão, para sempre, por memorial aos filhos de Israel.
8 Therfor the sones of Israel diden as Josue comaundide to hem, and baren fro the myddis of the trow of Jordan twelue stoonys, as the Lord comaundide to hem, bi the noumbre of the sones of Israel, `til to the place in which thei settiden tentis; and there thei puttiden tho stonys.
8 Fizeram, pois, os filhos de Israel como Josué ordenara, e levantaram doze pedras do meio do Jordão, como o Senhor tinha dito a Josué, segundo o número das tribos dos filhos de Israel, e levaram-nas consigo ao alojamento, e as depositaram ali.
9 Also Josue puttide othire twelue stoonys in the myddis of the trow of Jordan, where the preestis stoden, that baren the arke of boond of pees of the Lord; and tho stoonys ben there `til in to present dai.
9 Levantou Josué também doze pedras no meio do Jordão, no lugar em que, parados, pousaram os pés os sacerdotes que levavam a arca da Aliança; e ali estão até ao dia de hoje.
10 Forsothe the preestis, that baren the arke, stoden in the myddis of Jordan, til alle thingis weren fillid, whiche the Lord comaundide, that Josue schulde speke to the puple, as Moises hadde seide to hym. And the puple hastide, and passide.
10 Porque os sacerdotes que levavam a arca haviam parado no meio do Jordão, em pé, até que se cumpriu tudo quanto o Senhor , por intermédio de Moisés, ordenara a Josué falasse ao povo; e o povo se apressou e passou.
11 And whanne alle men hadden passid, also the arke of the Lord passide, and the preestis yeden bifor the puple.
11 Tendo passado todo o povo, então, passou a arca do Senhor , e os sacerdotes, à vista de todo o povo.
12 Also the sones of Ruben, and of Gad, and half the lynage of Manasse, yeden armed bifor the sones of Israel, as Moyses comaundide to hem.
12 Passaram os filhos de Rúben, e os filhos de Gade, e a meia tribo de Manassés, armados, na frente dos filhos de Israel, como Moisés lhes tinha dito;
13 And fourti thousynde of fiyters yeden bi her cumpanyes and gaderyngis on the pleyn and feeldi places of the citee of Jerico.
13 uns quarenta mil homens de guerra armados passaram diante do Senhor para a batalha, às campinas de Jericó.
14 In that day the Lord magnyfiede Josue bifor al Israel, that thei schulden drede hym, as thei dreden Moises, while he lyuede yit.
14 Naquele dia, o Senhor engrandeceu a Josué na presença de todo o Israel; e respeitaram-no todos os dias da sua vida, como haviam respeitado a Moisés.
15 And the Lord seide to Josue,
15 Disse, pois, o Senhor a Josué:
16 Comaunde thou to the preestis that beren the arke of boond of pees, that thei stie fro Jordan.
16 Dá ordem aos sacerdotes que levam a arca do Testemunho que subam do Jordão.
17 And Josue comaundide to hem, and seide, Stie ye fro Jordan.
17 Então, ordenou Josué aos sacerdotes, dizendo: Subi do Jordão.
18 And whanne thei hadden stied, berynge the arke of boond of pees of the Lord, and hadde bigunne to trede on the drie erthe, the watris turneden ayen in to her trowe, and flowiden, as tho weren wont before.
18 Ao subirem do meio do Jordão os sacerdotes que levavam a arca da Aliança do Senhor , e assim que as plantas dos seus pés se puseram na terra seca, as águas do Jordão se tornaram ao seu lugar e corriam, como dantes, sobre todas as suas ribanceiras.
19 Forsothe the puple stiede fro Jordan in the tenthe dai of the firste monethe, and thei settiden tentis in Galgalis, ayens the eest coost of the citee of Jerico.
19 Subiu, pois, do Jordão o povo no dia dez do primeiro mês; e acamparam-se em Gilgal, do lado oriental de Jericó.
20 Also Josue puttide in Galgalis the twelue stonys, whiche thei hadden take fro the trow of Jordan.
20 As doze pedras que tiraram do Jordão, levantou-as Josué em coluna em Gilgal.
21 And he seide to the sones of Israel, Whanne youre sones schulen axe to morewe her fadris, and schulen seie to hem, What wolen these stoonys `to hem silf?
21 E disse aos filhos de Israel: Quando, no futuro, vossos filhos perguntarem a seus pais, dizendo: Que significam estas pedras?,
22 ye schulen teche hem, and ye schulen seie, We passiden this Jordan bi the drie botme,
22 fareis saber a vossos filhos, dizendo: Israel passou em seco este Jordão.
23 for oure Lord God driede the watris therof in oure siyt, til we passiden,
23 Porque o Senhor , vosso Deus, fez secar as águas do Jordão diante de vós, até que passásseis, como o Senhor , vosso Deus, fez ao mar Vermelho, ao qual secou perante nós, até que passamos.
24 as he dide bifore in the Reed See, which he driede while we passiden,
24 Para que todos os povos da terra conheçam que a mão do Senhor é forte, a fim de que temais ao Senhor , vosso Deus, todos os dias.
25 that alle the puplis of londis lurne the strongeste hond of the Lord, that also ye drede youre Lord God in al tyme.
