1 The word which the Lord spak of Babiloyne, and of the lond of Caldeis, in the hond of Jeremye, the profete.
1 Palavra que o Senhor falou contra a Babilônia e contra a terra dos caldeus, por meio do profeta Jeremias.
2 Telle ye among hethene men, and make ye herd; reise ye a signe; preche ye, and nyle ye holde stille; seie ye, Babiloyne is takun, Bel is schent, Maradach is ouer comun; the grauun ymagis therof ben schent, the idols of hem ben ouer comun.
2 “Anunciem entre as nações, proclamem e levantem um estandarte; proclamem, não encubram nada. Digam: ‘Babilônia foi tomada, Bel foi humilhado, Marduque foi destruído. As suas imagens estão cobertas de vergonha, e seus ídolos tremem de terror.’”
3 For a folk schal stie fro the north ayenus it, which folk schal sette the lond therof in to wildirnesse; and noon schal be that schal dwelle therynne, fro man `til to beeste; and thei ben moued, and yeden a wei.
3 — Porque do Norte veio contra ela uma nação que tornará deserta a sua terra, e não haverá quem nela habite; tanto as pessoas como os animais fugiram e se foram.
4 In tho daies, and in that tyme, seith the Lord, the sones of Israel schulen come, thei and the sones of Juda togidere, goynge and wepynge; thei schulen haaste, and seke her Lord God in Sion,
4 Naqueles dias, naquele tempo, diz o Senhor , os filhos de Israel voltarão, eles e os filhos de Judá juntamente; andando e chorando, virão e buscarão o Senhor , seu Deus.
5 and thei schulen axe the weie. Hidur the faces of hem schulen come, and thei schulen be set to the Lord with boond of pees euerlastynge, which schal not be don awei by ony foryetyng.
5 Perguntarão pelo caminho que leva a Sião, com o rosto voltado para lá, e dirão: “Venham, vamos nos unir ao Senhor em aliança eterna que jamais será esquecida.”
6 My puple is maad a lost floc, the scheepherdis of hem disseyueden hem, and maden to go vnstabli in hillis; thei passiden fro mounteyn in to a litil hil, thei foryaten her bed.
6 O meu povo tem sido um rebanho de ovelhas perdidas. Os seus pastores as fizeram andar errantes e deixaram que elas se desviassem para os montes. Andaram de monte em monte e se esqueceram do seu aprisco.
7 Alle men that founden, eeten hem, and the enemyes of hem seiden, We synneden not, for that thei synneden to the Lord, the fairnesse of riytfulnesse, and to the Lord, the abidyng of her fadris.
7 Todos os que as acharam as devoraram. Os seus adversários diziam: “Não é culpa nossa!” Porque eles pecaram contra o Senhor , a morada da justiça, e contra a esperança de seus pais, o Senhor .
8 Go ye awei fro the myddis of Babiloyne, and go ye out of the lond of Caldeis, and be ye as kydis bifore the floc.
8 — Fujam da Babilônia! Saiam da terra dos caldeus! Sejam como os bodes que vão adiante do rebanho!
9 For lo! Y schal reise, and brynge in to Babiloyne the gaderyng togidere of grete folkis, fro the lond of the north; and thei schulen be maad redi ayens it, and it schal be takun in the dai; the arowe therof as of a strong man a sleere, schal not turne ayen voide.
9 Porque eis que eu suscitarei e farei vir contra a Babilônia um conjunto de grandes nações da terra do Norte, e se porão em ordem de batalha contra ela; assim ela será tomada. As flechas deles serão como guerreiros bem treinados que nunca voltam de mãos vazias.
10 And Caldee schal be in to prey, alle that distrien it, schulen be fillid, seith the Lord.
10 — A Caldeia servirá de presa; todos os que a saquearem se fartarão, diz o Senhor .
11 For ye maken ful out ioye, and speken grete thingis, and rauyschen myn eritage; for ye ben sched out as caluys on erbe, and lowiden as bolis.
11 “Ainda que se alegrem e exultem, ó saqueadores da minha herança, ainda que saltem como um bezerro no pasto e fiquem rinchando como um cavalo fogoso,
12 Youre modir is schent greetli, and sche that gendride you, is maad euene to dust; lo! sche schal be the last among folkis, and forsakun, with out weie, and drie.
12 a mãe de vocês ficará profundamente envergonhada; aquela que os deu à luz será humilhada. Eis que ela será a última das nações, um deserto, uma terra seca e uma solidão.
13 For the wraththe of the Lord it schal not be enhabitid, but it schal be dryuun al in to wildirnesse; ech that schal passe bi Babiloyne, schal wondre, and schal hisse on alle the woundis therof.
13 Por causa da indignação do não será habitada, mas ficará totalmente deserta. Quem passar pela Babilônia ficará espantado e zombará por causa do desastre que lhe aconteceu.
14 Alle ye that beenden bowe, be maad redi ayens Babiloyne bi cumpas; ouercome ye it, spare ye not arowis, for it synnede to the Lord.
14 Ponham-se em ordem de batalha ao redor da Babilônia, todos vocês que manejam o arco! Atirem contra ela! Não poupem flechas, porque ela pecou contra o
15 Crye ye ayens it, euery where it yaf hond; the foundementis therof fellen doun, and the wallis therof ben distried; for it is the veniaunce of the Lord. Take ye veniaunce of it; as it dide, do ye to it.
15 Gritem contra ela, rodeando-a! Ela já se rendeu. As suas torres caíram e as suas muralhas vieram abaixo. Esta é a vingança do vinguem-se dela; façam com ela o que ela fez com os outros.
16 Leese ye a sowere of Babiloyne, and hym that holdith a sikil in the tyme of heruest, fro the face of swerd of the culuer; ech man schal be turned to his puple, and ech man schal flee to his lond.
16 Eliminem da Babilônia o que semeia e o que maneja a foice no tempo da colheita. Por causa da espada do opressor, cada um voltará para o seu povo e cada um fugirá para a sua terra.”
17 Israel is a scaterid flok, liouns castiden out it; first kyng Assur eete it, this laste Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, dide awei the bonys therof.
17 — Israel é cordeiro desgarrado, que os leões afugentaram. Primeiro, o rei da Assíria o devorou, e, por fim, Nabucodonosor lhe quebrou os ossos.
18 Therfor the Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal visite the kyng of Babiloyne, and his lond, as Y visitide the kyng of Assur;
18 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Eis que castigarei o rei da Babilônia e a sua terra, como castiguei o rei da Assíria.
19 and Y schal brynge ayen Israel to his dwellyng place. Carmele and Baasan schal be fed, and his soule schal be fillid in the hil of Effraym, and of Galaad.
19 Farei Israel voltar para a sua morada, e pastará no Carmelo e em Basã; matará a sua fome na região montanhosa de Efraim e em Gileade.
20 In tho daies, and in that tyme, seith the Lord, the wickidnesse of Israel schal be souyt, and it schal not be; and the synne of Juda schal be souyt, and it schal not be foundun; for Y schal be merciful to hem, whiche Y schal forsake.
20 Naqueles dias e naquele tempo, diz o Senhor , se sairá em busca da iniquidade de Israel, mas ela já não existirá; procurarão os pecados de Judá, mas eles não serão encontrados, porque perdoarei aqueles que eu deixar como remanescente.
21 Stie thou on the lond of lordis, and visite thou on the dwelleris therof; scatere thou, and sle tho thingis, that ben aftir hem, seith the Lord; and do thou bi alle thingis which Y comaundide to thee.
21 “Ataque a terra de Merataim e os moradores de Pecode. Mate e destrua tudo após eles”, diz o “e faça tudo o que lhe ordenei.
22 The vois of batel and greet sorewe in the lond.
22 Há na terra estrondo de batalha e de grande destruição.
23 Hou is the hamer of al erthe brokun and al defoulid? hou is Babiloyne turned in to desert, among hethene men?
23 Como está quebrado, feito em pedaços o martelo de toda a terra! Como a Babilônia se tornou objeto de horror entre as nações!
24 Babiloyne, Y haue snarid thee, and thou art takun, and thou wistist not; thou art foundun, and takun, for thou terridist the Lord to wraththe.
24 Preparei uma armadilha, ó Babilônia, e você, sem se dar conta, caiu nela. Você foi surpreendida e apanhada, porque desafiou o
25 The Lord openide his tresour, and brouyte forth the vessels of his wraththe; for whi a werk is to the Lord God of oostis in the lond of Caldeis.
25 O Senhor abriu o seu arsenal e tirou dele as armas da sua indignação, porque o Senhor, o tem uma obra a realizar na terra dos caldeus.
26 Come ye to it fro the fertheste endis, opene ye, that thei go out, that schulen defoule it; take ye awei stoonys fro the weie, and dryue ye in to heepis, and sle ye it, and nothing be residue.
26 Venham contra ela de todos os confins da terra! Abram os seus celeiros, façam dela montões de ruínas, destruam-na por completo! Não deixem sobrar nada!
27 Distrie ye alle the stronge men therof, go thei doun in to sleynge; wo to hem, for the dai of hem cometh, the tyme of visityng of hem.
27 Matem à espada todos os seus touros! Que sejam levados para o matadouro! Ai deles! Pois é chegado o seu dia, o tempo do seu castigo.”
28 The vois of fleeris, and of hem that ascapiden fro the lond of Babiloyne, that thei telle in Sion the veniaunce of oure Lord God, the veniaunce of his temple.
28 — Ouve-se a voz dos que fugiram e escaparam da terra da Babilônia, para anunciarem em Sião a vingança do Senhor , nosso Deus, a vingança pelo que fizeram contra o seu templo.
29 Telle ye ayens Babiloyne to ful many men, to alle that beenden bowe. Stonde ye togidere ayens it bi cumpas, and noon ascape; yelde ye to it aftir his werk, aftir alle thingis whiche it dide, do ye to it; for it was reisid ayens the Lord, ayens the hooli of Israel.
29 — Convoquem uma multidão de flecheiros para que ataquem a Babilônia. Acampem-se ao redor dela e não deixem ninguém escapar. Retribuam-lhe segundo a sua obra; façam com ela o que ela fez com os outros. Porque ela procedeu com arrogância contra o Senhor , contra o Santo de Israel.
30 Therfor yonge men therof schulen falle doun in the stretis therof, and alle men werriours therof schulen be stille in that dai, seith the Lord.
30 Portanto, os seus jovens cairão nas suas praças, e todos os seus homens de guerra serão reduzidos a silêncio naquele dia, diz o Senhor .
31 Lo! thou proude, Y to thee, seith the Lord God of oostis, for thi dai is comun, the tyme of thi visitacioun.
31 “Eis que eu sou contra você, cidade orgulhosa”, diz o Senhor, o “porque chegou o seu dia, o tempo em que hei de castigá-la.
32 And the proude schal falle, and schal falle doun togidere, and noon schal be, that schal reise hym; and Y schal kyndle fier in the citees of hym, and it schal deuoure alle thingis in cumpas of it.
32 Então o orgulhoso tropeçará e cairá, e não haverá ninguém que o levante. Porei fogo nas suas cidades, o qual queimará todos os seus arredores.”
33 The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, The sones of Israel and the sones of Juda togidere suffren fals caleng; alle that token hem, holden, thei nylen delyuere hem.
33 — Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Os filhos de Israel e os filhos de Judá sofrem opressão juntamente. Todos aqueles que os levaram cativos os retêm e não querem deixá-los ir embora.
34 The ayenbyere of hem is strong, the Lord of oostis is his name; bi dom he schal defende the cause of hem, that he make the lond aferd, and stire togidere the dwelleris of Babiloyne.
34 Mas o Redentor deles é forte; Senhor dos Exércitos é o seu nome. Certamente defenderá a causa deles, para aquietar a terra e inquietar os moradores da Babilônia.
35 A swerd to Caldeis, seith the Lord, and to the dwelleris of Babiloyne, and to the princes, and to the wise men therof.
35 Diz o Senhor : “A espada virá sobre os caldeus, sobre os moradores da Babilônia e sobre os seus príncipes e os seus sábios.
36 A swerd to the false dyuynours therof, that schulen be foolis; a swerd to the stronge men therof, that schulen drede.
36 A espada virá sobre os adivinhos, e eles se tornarão tolos; virá sobre os valentes dela, e ficarão apavorados.
37 Swerd to the horsis therof, and to the charis therof, and to al the comyn puple whiche is in the myddis therof, and thei schulen be as wymmen; a swerd to the tresours therof, that schulen be rauyschid.
37 A espada virá sobre os seus cavalos e sobre os seus carros de guerra. Virá sobre os mercenários que estão no meio dela, e eles ficarão com medo como se fossem mulheres. A espada virá sobre os tesouros dela, e serão saqueados.
38 Drynesse schal be on the watris therof, and tho schulen be drye; for it is the lond of grauun ymagis, and hath glorie in false feynyngis.
38 A espada virá sobre as suas águas, e estas secarão; porque é uma terra de imagens de escultura, e os seus moradores enlouquecem por estas coisas horríveis.”
39 Therfor dragouns schulen dwelle with fonned wielde men, and ostrigis schulen dwelle therynne; and it schal no more be enhabitid `til in to with outen ende, and it schal not be bildid `til to generacioun and generacioun;
39 — Por isso, as feras do deserto com os chacais habitarão na Babilônia; também os avestruzes habitarão nela. Nunca mais será povoada, nem habitada de geração em geração.
40 as the Lord distriede Sodom and Gomorre, and the niy citees therof, seith the Lord. A man schal not dwelle there, and the sone of man schal not dwelle in it.
40 Como quando Deus destruiu Sodoma e Gomorra e as suas cidades vizinhas, diz o Senhor , assim não habitará ninguém ali, nem morará nela homem algum.
41 Lo! a puple cometh fro the north, and a greet folc, and many kyngis schulen rise togidere fro the endis of erthe.
41 “Eis que um povo vem do Norte; uma grande nação e muitos reis se levantarão dos confins da terra.
42 Thei schulen take bowe and swerd, thei ben cruel and vnmerciful; the vois of hem schal sowne as the see, and thei schulen stie on horsis as a man maad redi to batel, ayens thee, thou douyter of Babiloyne.
42 Armam-se de arco e de lança; são cruéis e não conhecem a compaixão. O barulho que fazem é como o bramido do mar. Vêm montados em cavalos, como guerreiros em ordem de batalha contra você, ó filha da Babilônia.
43 The kyng of Babiloyne herde the fame of hem, and hise hondis ben aclumsid; angwisch took hym, sorewe took hym, as a womman trauelynge of child.
43 O rei da Babilônia ouviu a fama deles, e as suas mãos desfaleceram; a angústia se apoderou dele, e dores, como de mulher que está dando à luz.”
44 Lo! as a lioun he schal stie fro the pride of Jordan to the stronge fairnesse, for Y schal make hym to renne sudenli to it; and who schal be the chosun man, whom Y schal sette bifore him? For who is lijk me? and who schal suffre me? and who is this scheepherde, that schal ayenstonde my cheer?
44 — Eis que, como o leão sobe da floresta do Jordão contra o rebanho em pasto verde, assim, num momento, farei com que ela fuja dali. E estabelecerei sobre ela a quem eu escolher. Pois quem é semelhante a mim? Quem me pedirá contas? E quem é o pastor que me poderá resistir?
45 Therfore here ye the councel of the Lord, which he conseyuede in mynde ayens Babiloyne, and hise thouytis, whiche he thouyte on the lond of Caldeis, no but the litle of the flockis drawen hem doun, no but the dwellyng place of hem be destried with hem, ellis no man yyue credence to me.
45 Portanto, ouçam a decisão que o Senhor tomou contra a Babilônia, e os planos que ele fez contra a terra dos caldeus. Certamente até os menores do rebanho serão arrastados. Certamente as suas moradas serão destruídas por causa deles.
46 The erthe is mouyd of the vois of caitiftee of Babiloyne, and cry is herd among hethene men.
46 A terra tremerá com o estrondo da tomada da Babilônia; e o seu grito será ouvido entre as nações.
