1 The Lord seith these thingis, Go thou doun in to the hous of the kyng of Juda, and thou schalt speke there this word, and schalt seie,
1 O S enhor me disse: “Vá e fale diretamente com o rei de Judá. Diga-lhe:
2 Thou kyng of Juda, that sittist on the seete of Dauid, here the word of the Lord, thou, and thi seruauntis, and thi puple, that entren bi these yatis.
2 ‘Ouça esta mensagem do S enhor , ó rei de Judá, sentado no trono de Davi. Que seus servos e todo o seu povo também escutem.
3 The Lord seith these thingis, Do ye doom, and riytfulnesse, and delyuere ye hym that is oppressid bi violence fro the hond of the fals chalenger; and nyle ye make sori, nether oppresse ye wickidli a comelyng, and a fadirles child, and a widewe, and schede ye not out innocent blood in this place.
3 Assim diz o S enhor : Sejam imparciais e justos. Ajudem os que são explorados e livrem-nos de seus opressores. Abandonem suas maldades: não maltratem os estrangeiros, nem os órfãos, nem as viúvas e parem de matar inocentes!
4 For if ye doynge don this word, kyngis of the kyn of Dauid sittynge on his trone schulen entre bi the yatis of this hous, and schulen stie on charis and horsis, thei, and the seruauntis, and the puple of hem.
4 Se me obedecerem, sempre haverá um descendente de Davi sentado no trono em Jerusalém. O rei passará pelas portas do palácio em carruagens e cavalos, acompanhado de seus servos e súditos.
5 That if ye heren not these wordis, Y swoore in my silf, seith the Lord, that this hous schal be in to wildirnesse.
5 Mas, se vocês não derem ouvidos a esta advertência, juro por meu próprio nome, diz o S enhor , que este palácio se tornará um monte de escombros’”.
6 For the Lord seith these thingis on the hous of the kyng of Juda, Galaad, thou art to me the heed of the Liban; credence be not youun to me, if Y sette not thee a wildirnesse, citees vnhabitable.
6 Assim diz o S enhor acerca do palácio de Judá: “Eu o amo tanto quanto a fértil floresta de Gileade e os bosques verdes do Líbano. Contudo, o transformarei num deserto, e ninguém habitará dentro de seus muros.
7 And Y schal halewe on thee a man sleynge, and hise armuris; and thei schulen kitte doun thi chosun cedris, and schulen caste doun in to fier.
7 Chamarei demolidores, que trarão consigo suas ferramentas. Arrancarão suas belas vigas de cedro e as lançarão no fogo.
8 And many folkis schulen passe bi this citee, and ech man schal seie to his neiybore, Whi dide the Lord thus to this greet citee?
8 “Pessoas de muitas nações passarão pelas ruínas desta cidade e dirão umas às outras: ‘Por que o S enhor destruiu esta grande cidade?’.
9 And thei schulen answere, For thei forsoken the couenaunt of her Lord God, and worschipiden alien goddis, and serueden hem.
9 E a resposta será: ‘Porque eles quebraram sua aliança com o S enhor , seu Deus, ao adorar e servir outros deuses’”.
10 Nyle ye biwepe hym that is deed, nether weile ye on hym bi wepyng; biweile ye hym that goith out, for he schal no more turne ayen, nether he schal se the lond of his birthe.
10 Não chorem pelo rei morto nem lamentem sua perda; chorem, porém, pelo rei que foi levado como prisioneiro, pois nunca mais voltará nem verá sua terra natal.
11 For the Lord seith these thingis to Sellum, the sone of Josie, the kyng of Juda, that regnede for Josye, his fadir, He that yede out of this place, schal no more turne ayen hidur;
11 Pois assim diz o S enhor acerca de Jeoacaz, que sucedeu seu pai, o rei Josias, e foi levado para o exílio: “Ele jamais voltará.
12 but in the place to which Y translatide him, there he schal die, and he schal no more se this lond.
12 Morrerá exilado numa terra distante e nunca mais verá sua terra natal”.
13 Wo to him that bildith his hous in vnriytfulnesse, and his soleris not in doom; he schal oppresse his freend in veyn, and he schal not yelde his hire to hym.
13 “Que aflição espera Jeoaquim, que edifica seu palácio de forma desonesta! Constrói suas paredes com injustiça, pois obriga gente do seu povo a trabalhar sem pagar salário.
14 Which seith, Y schal bilde to me a large hous, and wide soleris; which openeth wyndows to hym silf, and makith couplis of cedre, and peyntith with reed colour.
14 Diz: ‘Construirei para mim um palácio magnífico, com salas espaçosas e muitas janelas. Revestirei tudo com painéis de cedro e pintarei de vermelho vívido’.
15 Whether thou schalt regne, for thou comparisonest thee to a cedre? whether thi fadir eet not, and drank, and dide doom and riytfulnesse thanne, whanne it was wel to hym?
15 Mas um belo palácio de cedro não faz um grande rei! Josias, seu pai, também tinha muita comida e bebida, mas em tudo que fazia era justo e íntegro; por isso tudo deu certo para ele.
16 He demyde the cause of a pore man, and nedi, in to his good; whether not therfor for he knew me? seith the Lord.
16 Fez justiça ao pobre e ao necessitado e os ajudou, e tudo lhe correu bem. Não é isso que significa me conhecer?”, diz o S
17 Forsothe thin iyen and herte ben to aueryce, and to schede innocent blood, and to fals caleng, and to the perfourmyng of yuel werk.
17 “Você, porém, só tem olhos para a cobiça e a desonestidade; derrama sangue inocente e reina com crueldade e opressão.”
18 Therfor the Lord seith these thingis to Joachym, the sone of Josie, the kyng of Juda, Thei schulen not biweile hym, Wo brother! and wo sistir! thei schulen not sowne togidere to hym, Wo lord! and wo noble man!
18 Portanto, assim diz o S enhor acerca de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá: “O povo não lamentará por ele, nem clamará: ‘Que tristeza, meu irmão! Que tristeza, minha irmã!’. Seus súditos não lamentarão por ele, nem clamarão: ‘Que tristeza, nosso senhor morreu! Que tristeza, sua majestade se foi!’.
19 He schal be biried with the biriyng of an asse, he schal be rotun, and cast forth without the yatis of Jerusalem.
19 Será enterrado como se enterra um jumento: arrastado e jogado fora dos portões de Jerusalém.
20 Stie thou on the Liban, and cry thou, and yyue thi vois in Basan, and cry to hem that passen forth, for alle thi louyeris ben al to-brokun.
20 Chore por seus aliados no Líbano, grite por eles em Basã. Procure-os nas regiões a oeste do rio; veja, foram todos destruídos!
21 Y spak to thee in thi plentee, and thou seidist, Y schal not here; this is thi weie fro thi yongthe, for thou herdist not my vois.
21 Eu o adverti quando você era próspero, mas você respondeu: ‘Recuso-me a ouvir’. Sempre foi assim, desde a juventude; nunca me obedece!
22 Wynd schal feede alle thi scheepherdis, and thi louyeris schulen go in to caitifte;
22 Agora o vento levará para longe seus aliados; todos os seus amigos serão levados para o exílio. Então certamente verá sua perversidade e ficará envergonhado.
23 and thanne thou that sittist in the Liban, and makist nest in cedris, schalt be schent, and be aschamed of al thi malice. Hou weilidist thou, whanne sorewis weren comun to thee, as the sorew of a womman trauelynge of child?
23 Você que mora num lindo palácio, todo revestido de madeira de cedro do Líbano, logo gemerá com pontadas de angústia, como as dores da mulher em trabalho de parto.”
24 I lyue, seith the Lord, for thouy Jeconye, the sone of Joachym, kyng of Juda, were a ring in my riyt hond, fro thennus Y schal drawe awei hym.
24 “Tão certo como eu vivo”, diz o S enhor , “eu o abandonarei, Joaquim, filho de Jeoaquim, rei de Judá. Mesmo que você fosse o anel de selar em minha mão direita, eu o arrancaria.
25 And Y schal yyue thee in the hond of hem that seken thi lijf, and in the hond of hem whos face thou dredist, and in the hond of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, and in the hond of Caldeis.
25 Eu o entregarei àqueles que procuram matá-lo, àqueles que você tanto teme: o rei Nabucodonosor da Babilônia e o exército babilônio.
26 And Y schal sende thee, and thi moder that gendride thee, in to an alien lond, in which ye weren not borun, and there ye schulen die;
26 Expulsarei você e sua mãe desta terra e vocês morrerão em nação estrangeira, e não em sua terra natal.
27 and thei schulen not turne ayen in to the lond, to which thei reisen her soule, that thei turne ayen thidur.
27 Jamais voltarão à terra pela qual anseiam.
28 Whether this man Jeconye is an erthene vessel, and al to-brokun? whether a vessel withouten al likyng? Whi ben he and his seed cast awei, and cast forth in to a lond which thei knewen not?
28 “Por que esse homem, Joaquim, é como um vaso quebrado, jogado fora? Por que ele e seus filhos serão exilados em terra estrangeira?
29 Erthe, erthe, erthe, here thou the word of the Lord.
29 Ó terra, terra, terra de Judá! Ouça esta mensagem do S
30 The Lord seith these thingis, Write thou this man bareyn, a man that schal not haue prosperite in hise daies; for of his seed schal be no man, that schal sitte on the seete of Dauid, and haue powere ferthere in Juda.
30 Assim diz o S enhor : ‘Registrem Joaquim como homem sem filhos. Ele não terá êxito, pois não terá filhos que o sucedam no trono de Davi para reinar em Judá’.”
