1 Aftir these thingis Jhesus wente ouere the see of Galilee, that is Tiberias.
1 Após estas coisas Jesus partiu para o outro lado do mar da Galileia, que é o mar de Tiberíades.
2 And a greet multitude suede hym; for thei sayn the tokenes, that he dide on hem that weren sijke.
2 E uma grande multidão o seguia, porque eles viam seus milagres que operava sobre os enfermos.
3 Therfor Jhesus wente in to an hil, and sat there with hise disciplis.
3 E Jesus subiu ao monte, e assentou-se ali com os seus discípulos.
4 And the paske was ful niy, a feeste dai of the Jewis.
4 E a páscoa, a festa dos judeus, estava próxima.
5 Therfor whanne Jhesus hadde lift vp hise iyen, and hadde seyn, that a greet multitude cam to hym, he seith to Filip, Wherof schulen we bie looues, that these men ete?
5 Então Jesus levantando os seus olhos e vendo que uma grande multidão vinha até ele, disse a Filipe: Onde nós compraremos pão, para que estes possam comer?
6 But he seide this thing, temptynge hym; for he wiste what he was to do.
6 Mas dizia isso para pôr à prova; porque ele bem sabia o que ia fazer.
7 Filip answerde to hym, The looues of tweyn hundrid pans sufficen not to hem, that ech man take a litil what.
7 Filipe respondeu-lhe: Duzentos denários de pão não são o suficiente, para que cada um deles tome um pouco.
8 Oon of hise disciplis, Andrew, the brothir of Symount Petre,
8 Um dos seus discípulos, André, irmão de Simão Pedro, disse-lhe:
9 seith to him, A child is here, that hath fyue barli looues and twei fischis; but what ben these among so manye?
9 Está aqui um rapaz que tem cinco pães de cevada e dois pequenos peixes; mas o que é isso para tantos?
10 Therfor Jhesus seith, Make ye hem sitte to the mete. And there was myche hey in the place. And so men saten to the mete, as `fyue thousynde in noumbre.
10 E disse Jesus: Fazei os homens se assentarem. E havia muita grama naquele lugar. Assim os homens se sentaram, em número de aproximadamente cinco mil.
11 And Jhesus took fyue looues, and whanne he hadde do thankyngis, he departide to men that saten to the mete, and also of the fischis, as myche as thei wolden.
11 E Jesus tomou os pães, e havendo dado graças, ele distribuiu para os discípulos, e os discípulos, para os que estavam assentados; e do mesmo modo os peixes, quanto eles queriam.
12 And whanne thei weren fillid, he seide to hise disciplis, Gadir ye the relifs that ben left, that thei perischen not.
12 E, quando estavam saciados, ele disse aos seus discípulos: Recolhei os pedaços que sobraram, para que nada se perca.
13 And so thei gadriden, and filliden twelue cofyns of relif of the fyue barli looues and twei fischis, that lefte to hem that hadden etun.
13 Recolheram, pois, e encheram doze cestos de pedaços dos cinco pães de cevada, que sobejaram aos que haviam comido.
14 Therfor tho men, whanne thei hadden seyn the signe that he hadde don, seiden, For this is verili the profete, that is to come in to the world.
14 Então, vendo aqueles homens o milagre que Jesus tinha feito, diziam: Este é verdadeiramente o profeta que devia vir ao mundo.
15 And whanne Jhesus hadde knowun, that thei weren to come to take hym, and make hym kyng, he fleiy `aloone eft in to an hille.
15 Percebendo, pois, Jesus que estavam prestes a vir e levá-lo à força para o fazerem rei, ele partiu novamente sozinho para o monte.
16 And whanne euentid was comun, his disciplis wenten doun to the see.
16 E, chegando à tarde, os seus discípulos desceram para o mar.
17 And thei wenten vp in to a boot, and thei camen ouer the see in to Cafarnaum. And derknessis weren maad thanne, and Jhesus was not come to hem.
17 E, entrando no barco, foram para o mar em direção a Cafarnaum. E já era escuro, e Jesus ainda não tinha vindo até eles.
18 And for a greet wynde blew, the see roos vp.
18 E o mar se levantou, porque um grande vento assoprava.
19 Therfor whanne thei hadden rowid as fyue and twenti furlongis or thretti, thei seen Jhesus walkynge on the see, and to be neiy the boot; and thei dredden.
19 Tendo, pois, remado uns vinte e cinco ou trinta estádios, eles viram Jesus andando sobre o mar, e aproximando-se do barco, e eles ficaram com medo.
20 And he seide to hem, Y am; nyle ye drede.
20 Mas ele lhes disse: Sou eu; não temais.
21 Therfor thei wolden take hym in to the boot, and anoon the boot was at the loond, to which thei wenten.
21 Então eles de boa vontade o receberam no barco; e imediatamente o barco chegou à terra para onde iam.
22 On `the tother dai the puple, that stood ouer the see, say, that ther was noon other boot there but oon, and that Jhesu entride not with hise disciplis in to the boot, but hise disciplis aloone wenten.
22 No dia seguinte, quando a multidão que ficara no outro lado do mar viu que não havia ali nenhum outro barco, exceto aquele no qual seus discípulos haviam entrado, e que Jesus não entrara com seus discípulos naquele barco, mas que os seus discípulos tinham ido sós;
23 But othere bootis camen fro Tiberias bisidis the place, where thei hadden eetun breed, and diden thankyngis to God.
23 (contudo, outros barcos haviam chegado de Tiberíades para perto do lugar onde comeram o pão, após o Senhor ter dado graças);
24 Therfor whanne the puple hadde seyn, that Jhesu was not there, nether hise disciplis, thei wenten vp in to bootis, and camen to Cafarnaum, sekynge Jhesu.
24 portanto, vendo a multidão que Jesus não estava ali, nem os seus discípulos, eles também embarcaram, e foram a Cafarnaum, em busca de Jesus.
25 And whanne thei hadden foundun hym ouer the see, thei seiden to hym, Rabi, hou come thou hidur?
25 E, achando-o no outro lado do mar, disseram-lhe: Rabi, quando tu chegaste aqui?
26 Jhesus answerde to hem, and seide, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, ye seken me, not for ye sayn the myraclis, but for ye eten of looues, and weren fillid.
26 Jesus respondeu e disse-lhes: Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo que me buscais, não porque vistes milagres, mas porque comestes do pão, e vos saciastes.
27 Worche ye not mete that perischith, but that dwellith in to euerlastynge lijf, which mete mannys sone schal yyue to you; for God the fadir hath markid hym.
27 Trabalhai, não pela comida que perece, mas pela comida que dura para a vida eterna, a qual o Filho do homem vos dará; porque a ele Deus o Pai, o selou.
28 Therfor thei seiden to hym, What schulen we do, that we worche the werkis of God?
28 Então, lhe disseram: O que devemos fazer, para realizar as obras de Deus?
29 Jhesus answerde, and seide to hem, This is the werk of God, that ye bileue to hym, whom he sente.
29 Jesus respondeu e disse-lhes: Esta é a obra de Deus: que creiais naquele que ele enviou.
30 Therfor thei seiden to hym, What tokene thanne doist thou, that we seen, and bileue to thee? what worchist thou?
30 Disseram-lhe, pois: Que sinal, pois, fazes tu, para que o vejamos e creiamos em ti? O que tu operas?
31 Oure fadris eeten manna in desert, as it is writun, He yaf to hem breed fro heuene to ete.
31 Nossos pais comeram o maná no deserto, como está escrito: Deu-lhes a comer o pão do céu.
32 Therfor Jhesus seith to hem, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, Moyses yaf you not breed fro heuene, but my fadir yyueth you veri breed fro heuene;
32 Então Jesus disse: Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: Moisés não vos deu o pão do céu, mas meu Pai vos dá o verdadeiro pão do céu.
33 for it is very breed that cometh doun fro heuene, and yyueth lijf to the world.
33 Porque o pão de Deus é aquele que desce do céu, e dá vida ao mundo.
34 Therfor thei seiden to hym, Lord, euere yyue vs this breed.
34 Então disseram-lhe: Senhor, dá-nos sempre desse pão.
35 And Jhesus seide to hem, Y am breed of lijf; he that cometh to me, schal not hungur; he that bileueth in me, schal neuere thirste.
35 E Jesus lhes disse: Eu sou o pão da vida; aquele que vem a mim nunca terá fome, e quem crê em mim nunca terá sede.
36 But Y seid to you, that ye han seyn me, and ye bileueden not.
36 Mas eu vos digo: Que vós também me tendes visto, mas não credes.
37 Al thing, that the fadir yyueth to me, schal come to me; and Y schal not caste hym out, that cometh to me.
37 Todo aquele que meu Pai me dá, virá a mim; e o que vem a mim, de modo algum o lançarei fora.
38 For Y cam doun fro heuene, not that Y do my wille, but the wille of hym that sente me.
38 Porque eu desci do céu, não para fazer a minha própria vontade, mas a vontade daquele que me enviou.
39 And this is the wille of the fadir that sente me, that al thing that the fadir yaf me, Y leese not of it, but ayen reise it in the laste dai.
39 E esta é a vontade do Pai que me enviou: que nenhum de todos aqueles que me deu se perca, mas que o ressuscite no último dia.
40 And this is the wille of my fadir that sente me, that ech man that seeth the sone, and bileueth in hym, haue euerlastynge lijf; and Y schal ayen reyse hym in the laste dai.
40 E esta é a vontade daquele que me enviou: que todo aquele que vê o Filho e crê nele, possa ter a vida eterna, e eu o ressuscitarei no último dia.
41 Therfor Jewis grutchiden of hym, for he hadde seid, Y am breed that cam doun fro heuene.
41 Então os Judeus murmuravam dele, porque ele dissera: Eu sou o pão que desceu do céu.
42 And thei seiden, Whether this is not Jhesus, the sone of Joseph, whos fadir and modir we han knowun. Hou thanne seith this, That Y cam doun fro heuene?
42 E eles diziam: Não é este Jesus, o filho de José, cujo pai e mãe nós conhecemos? Como, então, ele diz: Eu desci do céu?
43 Therfor Jhesus answerde, and seide to hem, Nyle ye grutche togidere.
43 Portanto, Jesus respondendo, disse-lhes: Não murmureis entre vós.
44 No man may come to me, but if the fadir that sente me, drawe hym; and Y schal ayen reise hym in the laste dai. It is writun in prophetis,
44 Ninguém pode vir a mim, se o Pai, que me enviou, não o trouxer; e eu o ressuscitarei no último dia.
45 And alle men schulen be able for to be tauyt `of God. Ech man that herde of the fadir, and hath lerned, cometh to me.
45 Está escrito nos profetas: E eles serão todos ensinados por Deus. Portanto, cada homem que ouviu e aprendeu do pai, vem a mim.
46 Not for ony man hath sey the fadir, but this that is of God, hath sey the fadir.
46 Não que algum homem tenha visto ao Pai, senão aquele que é de Deus, este tem visto ao Pai.
47 Sotheli, sotheli, Y seie to you, he that bileueth in me, hath euerlastynge lijf.
47 Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: Aquele que crê em mim tem a vida eterna.
48 Y am breed of lijf.
48 Eu sou o pão da vida.
49 Youre fadris eeten manna in desert, and ben deed.
49 Vossos pais comeram o maná no deserto e morreram.
50 This is breed comynge doun fro heuene, that if ony man ete therof, he die not.
50 Este é o pão que desce do céu, para que o homem que dele comer não morra.
51 Y am lyuynge breed, that cam doun fro heuene.
51 Eu sou o pão vivo que desceu do céu; se algum homem comer desse pão, ele viverá para sempre; e o pão que eu darei é a minha carne, a qual eu darei pela vida do mundo.
52 If ony man ete of this breed, he schal lyue withouten ende. And the breed that Y schal yyue, is my fleisch for the lijf of the world.
52 Portanto, os judeus discutiram entre si, dizendo: Como poderia nos dar este homem a sua carne para comer?
53 Therfor the Jewis chidden togidere, and seiden, Hou may this yyue to vs his fleisch to ete?
53 Então Jesus lhes disse: Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: Se não comerdes a carne do Filho do homem, e não beberdes o seu sangue, não tereis vida em vós mesmos.
54 Therfor Jhesus seith to hem, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, but ye eten the fleisch of mannus sone, and drenken his blood, ye schulen not haue lijf in you.
54 Quem come a minha carne, e bebe o meu sangue, tem a vida eterna, e eu o ressuscitarei no último dia.
55 He that etith my fleisch, and drynkith my blood, hath euerlastynge lijf, and Y schal ayen reise hym in the laste dai.
55 Porque a minha carne verdadeiramente é comida, e o meu sangue verdadeiramente é bebida.
56 For my fleisch is veri mete, and my blood is very drynk.
56 Quem come a minha carne, e bebe o meu sangue, permanece em mim, e eu nele.
57 He that etith my fleisch, and drynkith my blood, dwellith in me, and Y in hym.
57 Assim como o Pai, que vive, me enviou, e eu vivo pelo Pai; assim quem de mim se alimenta também viverá por mim.
58 As my fadir lyuynge sente me, and Y lyue for the fadir, and he that etith me, he schal lyue for me.
58 Este é o pão que desceu do céu; não é o caso de vossos pais, que comeram o maná e morreram; quem comer este pão viverá para sempre.
59 This is breed, that cam doun fro heuene. Not as youre fadris eten manna, and ben deed; he that etith this breed, schal lyue withouten ende.
59 Estas coisas ele disse ensinando na sinagoga em Cafarnaum.
60 He seide these thingis in the synagoge, techynge in Cafarnaum.
60 Portanto, muitos dos seus discípulos, ouvindo isso, disseram: Este é um discurso duro, quem o pode ouvir?
61 Therfor many of hise disciplis herynge, seiden, This word is hard, who may here it?
61 Sabendo, pois, Jesus em si mesmo que os seus discípulos murmuravam sobre isto, ele disse-lhes: Isto vos ofende?
62 But Jhesus witynge at hym silf, that hise disciplis grutchiden of this thing, seide to hem, This thing sclaundrith you?
62 O que seria, se vós vísseis o Filho do homem subir para onde estava antes?
63 Therfor if ye seen mannus sone stiynge, where he was bifor?
63 O espírito é o que vivifica, a carne para nada aproveita; as palavras que eu vos falo, elas são espírito, e elas são vida.
64 It is the spirit that quykeneth, the fleisch profitith no thing; the wordis that Y haue spokun to you, ben spirit and lijf.
64 Mas há alguns de vós que não creem. Porque Jesus conhecia desde o princípio aqueles que não criam, e quem deveria o trair.
65 But ther ben summe of you that bileuen not. For Jhesus wiste fro the bigynnynge, which weren bileuynge, and who was to bitraye hym.
65 E ele dizia: Por isso, eu vos disse que nenhum homem pode vir a mim, a não ser que lhe fosse dado por meu Pai.
66 And he seide, Therfor Y seide to you, that no man may come to me, but it were youun to hym of my fadir.
66 Desde daquele momento, muitos dos seus discípulos retrocederam, e não andavam mais com ele.
67 Fro this tyme many of hise disciplis wenten abak, and wenten not now with hym.
67 Então, disse Jesus aos doze: Quereis vós também ir embora?
68 Therfor Jhesus seide to the twelue, Whether ye wolen also go awei?
68 Então, Simão Pedro respondeu-lhe: Senhor, para quem iremos nós? Tu tens as palavras da vida eterna.
69 And Symount Petre answeride to hym, Lord, to whom schulen we gon? Thou hast wordis of euerlastynge lijf;
69 E nós cremos e estamos certos de que tu és o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo.
70 and we bileuen, and han knowun, that thou art Crist, the sone of God.
70 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Não escolhi os doze de vós? E um de vós é um diabo.
71 Therfor Jhesus answerde to hem, Whether Y chees not you twelue, and oon of you is a feend?
71 Ele falava de Judas Iscariotes, filho de Simão, porque este deveria traí-lo, sendo um dos doze.
72 And he seide this of Judas of Symount Scarioth, for this was to bitraye hym, whanne he was oon of the twelue.
