1 And the Lord seide to Moises, Lo! Y haue maad thee the god of Farao; and Aaron, thi brother, schal be thi prophete.
1 O Senhor lhe respondeu: "Dou-lhe a minha autoridade perante o faraó, e seu irmão Arão será seu porta-voz.
2 Thou schalt speke to Aaron alle thingis whiche Y comaunde to thee, and he schal speke to Farao, that he delyuere the sones of Israel fro his hond.
2 Você falará tudo o que eu lhe ordenar, e o seu irmão Arão dirá ao faraó que deixe os israelitas saírem do país.
3 But Y schal make hard his herte, and Y schal multiplie my signes and merueils in the lond of Egipt, and he schal not here you;
3 Eu, porém, farei o coração do faraó resistir; e, embora multiplique meus sinais e maravilhas no Egito,
4 and Y schal sende myn hond on Egipt, and Y schal lede out myn oost, and my puple, the sones of Israel, fro the lond of Egipt bi mooste domes;
4 ele não os ouvirá. Então porei a minha mão sobre o Egito, e com poderosos atos de juízo tirarei do Egito os meus exércitos, o meu povo, os israelitas.
5 and Egipcians schulen wite, that Y am the Lord, which haue holde forth myn hond on Egipt, and haue led out of the myddis of hem the sones of Israel.
5 E os egípcios saberão que eu sou o Senhor, quando eu estender a minha mão contra o Egito e tirar de lá os israelitas".
6 And so Moises dide and Aaron; as the Lord comaundide, so thei diden.
6 Moisés e Arão fizeram como o Senhor lhes havia ordenado.
7 Forsothe Moyses was of fourescoor yeer, and Aaron was of fourescoor yeer and thre, whanne thei spaken to Farao.
7 Moisés tinha oitenta anos de idade e Arão oitenta e três, quando falaram com o faraó.
8 And the Lord seide to Moises and to Aaron,
8 Disse o Senhor a Moisés e a Arão:
9 Whanne Farao schal seie to you, Schewe ye signes to vs, thou schalt seie to Aaron, Take thi yerde, and caste forth it before Farao, and be it turned into a serpent.
9 "Quando o faraó lhes pedir que façam algum milagre, diga a Arão que tome a sua vara e a jogue diante do faraó; e ela se transformará numa serpente".
10 And so Moises and Aaron entriden to Farao, and diden as the Lord comaundide; and Aaron took the yeerde, and castide forth bifore Farao and hise seruauntis, which yerde was turned in to a serpent.
10 Moisés e Arão dirigiram-se ao faraó e fizeram como o Senhor tinha ordenado. Arão jogou a vara diante do faraó e seus conselheiros, e ela se transformou em serpente.
11 Forsothe Farao clepide wise men, and witchis, and thei also diden bi enchauntementis of Egipt, and bi summe priuy thingis in lijk maner;
11 O faraó, porém, mandou chamar os sábios e feiticeiros; e também os magos do Egito fizeram a mesma coisa por meio das suas ciências ocultas.
12 and alle castiden forth her yerdis, whiche weren turned in to dragouns; but the yerde of Aaron deuouride `the yerdis of hem.
12 Cada um deles jogou ao chão uma vara, e estas se transformaram em serpentes. Mas a vara de Arão engoliu as varas deles.
13 And the herte of Farao was maad hard, and he herde not hem, as the Lord comaundide.
13 Contudo, o coração do faraó se endureceu e ele não quis dar ouvidos a Moisés e a Arão, como o Senhor tinha dito.
14 Forsothe the Lord seide to Moyses, The herte of Farao is maad greuouse, he nyle delyuere the puple;
14 Disse o Senhor a Moisés: "O coração do faraó está obstinado; ele não quer deixar o povo ir.
15 go thou to hym eerli; lo! he schal go out to the watris, and thou schalt stonde in the comyng of hym on the brynke of the flood; and thou schalt take in thin honde the yerde, that was turned into a dragoun,
15 Vá ao faraó de manhã, quando ele estiver indo às águas. Espere-o na margem do rio para encontrá-lo e leve também a vara que se transformou em serpente.
16 and thou schalt seie to hym, The Lord God of Ebrews sente me to thee, and seide, Delyuere thou my puple, that it make sacrifice to me in desert; til to present time thou noldist here.
16 Diga-lhe: O Senhor, o Deus dos hebreus, mandou-me dizer-lhe: Deixe ir o meu povo, para prestar-me culto no deserto. Mas até agora você não me atendeu.
17 Therfor the Lord seith these thingis, In this thou schalt wite, that Y am the Lord; lo! Y schal smyte with the yerde, which is in myn hond, the watir of the flood, and it schal be turned in to blood;
17 Assim diz o Senhor: Nisto você saberá que eu sou o Senhor: com a vara que trago na mão ferirei as águas do Nilo, e elas se transformarão em sangue.
18 and the fischis that ben in the flood schulen die; and the watris schulen wexe rotun, and Egipcians drynkynge the watir of the flood schulen be turmentid.
18 Os peixes do Nilo morrerão, o rio ficará cheirando mal, e os egípcios não suportarão beber das suas águas".
19 Also the Lord seide to Moises, Seie thou to Aaron, Take thi yerde, and holde forth thin hond on the watris of Egipt, and on the flodis of hem, and on the stremys `of hem, and on the mareis, and alle lakis of watris, that tho be turned in to blood; and blood be in al the lond of Egipt, as wel in vessils of tree as of stoon.
19 Disse o Senhor a Moisés: "Diga a Arão que tome a sua vara e estenda a mão sobre as águas do Egito, dos rios, dos canais, dos açudes e de todos os reservatórios, e elas se transformarão em sangue. Haverá sangue por toda a terra do Egito, até nas vasilhas de madeira e nas vasilhas de pedra".
20 And Moises and Aaron diden so, as the Lord comaundide; and Aaron reiside the yerde, and smoot the watir of the flood bifore Farao and hise seruauntis, which watir was turned in to blood;
20 Moisés e Arão fizeram como o Senhor tinha ordenado. Arão levantou a vara e feriu as águas do Nilo na presença do faraó e dos seus conselheiros; e toda a água do rio transformou-se em sangue.
21 and fischis, that weren in the flood, dieden; and the flood was rotun, and Egipcians myyten not drynke the water of the flood; and blood was in al the lond of Egipt.
21 Os peixes morreram e o rio cheirava tão mal que os egípcios não conseguiam beber das suas águas. Havia sangue por toda a terra do Egito.
22 And the witchis of Egipcians diden in lijk maner by her enchauntementis; and the herte of Farao was maad hard, and he herde not hem, as the Lord comaundide.
22 Mas os magos do Egito fizeram a mesma coisa por meio de suas ciências ocultas. O coração do faraó se endureceu, e ele não deu ouvidos a Moisés e a Arão, como o Senhor tinha dito.
23 And he turnede awei hym silf, and entride in to his hows, nethir he took it to herte, yhe, in this tyme.
23 Pelo contrário, deu-lhes as costas e voltou para o seu palácio. Nem assim o faraó levou isso a sério.
24 Forsothe alle Egipcians diggiden watir `bi the cumpas of the flood, to drinke; for thei myyten not drynke of the `watir of the flood.
24 Todos os egípcios cavaram buracos às margens do Nilo para encontrar água potável, pois da água do rio não podiam mais beber.
25 And seuene daies weren fillid, aftir that the Lord smoot the flood.
25 Passaram-se sete dias depois que o Senhor feriu o Nilo.
