1 Therfor these ben the princes of meynees, and this is the genologie of hem, whiche beynge in the rewme of Artaxerses, kyng, stieden with me fro Babiloyne.
1 Esta é a lista dos chefes de grupos de famílias que estavam na Babilônia e que voltaram com Esdras para Jerusalém quando Artaxerxes era rei: Zacarias, da família de Parós, com cento e cinquenta homens do seu grupo de famílias (havia registro das suas famílias); Elioenai, filho de Zeraías, da família de Paate-Moabe, com duzentos homens; Secanias, filho de Jaziel, da família de Zatu, com trezentos homens; Ebede, filho de Jônatas, da família de Adim, com cinquenta homens; Jesaías, filho de Atalias, da família de Elão, com setenta homens; Zebadias, filho de Micael, da família de Sefatias, com oitenta homens; Obadias, filho de Jeiel, da família de Joabe, com duzentos e dezoito homens; Selomite, filho de Josifias, da família de Bani, com cento e sessenta homens; Zacarias, filho de Bebai, da família de Bebai, com vinte e oito homens; Joanã, filho de Hacatã, da família de Azgade, com cento e dez homens; Elifelete, Jeiel e Semaías, da família de Adonicã, com sessenta homens. Eles foram os últimos a chegar; Utai e Zabude, da família de Bigvai, com setenta homens.

15 Forsothe Y gaderide hem togidere at the flood, that renneth doun to Hanna; and we dwelliden there thre daies. And `Y souyte in the puple, and in the prestis of the sonus of Leuy, and Y fonde not there.
15 Eu, Esdras, reuni toda essa gente perto do rio que corre para a cidade de Aava, e ficamos acampados ali três dias. Quando examinei o povo com mais cuidado, vi que no meio deles havia sacerdotes, porém não havia nenhum levita .
16 Therfor Y sente Eliezer, and Ariehel, and Semeam, and Helnathan, and Jaubeth, and an other Helnathan, and Nathan, and Zacharie, and Mesollam, princes; and Joarib, and Elnathan, wise men;
16 Aí mandei chamar nove líderes: Eliézer, Ariel, Semaías, Elnatã, Jaribe, Elnatã, Natã, Zacarias e Mesulã. E chamei também dois professores: Joiaribe e Elnatã.
17 and Y sente hem to Heldo, which is `the firste in the place of Casphie, and Y puttide in the mouth of hem wordis, whiche thei schulden speke to Heldo, and to hise britheren, Natynneis, in the place of Casphie, for to brynge to vs the mynystris of the hows of oure God.
17 Eu mandei que eles fossem procurar Ido, o chefe do lugar chamado Casifia, e dissessem a ele e aos seus colegas servidores do Templo que nos mandassem gente para servir a Deus no Templo.
18 And `thei brouyten to vs, bi the good hoond of oure God on vs, a ful wijs man of the sones of Mooli, the sone of Leuy, sone of Israel; and Sarabie, and his sones twenti, and his britheren eiytene;
18 E, porque Deus estava nos abençoando, eles nos mandaram um homem muito capaz, chamado Serebias, levita da família de Mali. Dezoito dos seus filhos e irmãos vieram com ele.
19 and Azabie, and Isaie, with him of the sones of Merari, thei brouyten his britheren, and his sones, twenti;

20 and of Nathynneis, whiche Dauid and the princis hadden youe to the seruyces of dekenes, thei brouyten two hundrid and twenti Nathynneis; alle these weren clepid bi her names.
20 Vieram também duzentos e vinte servidores do Templo, os quais eram descendentes daqueles que o rei Davi e os seus oficiais haviam escolhido para ajudar os levitas. E fizeram uma lista com os nomes de todos eles.
21 And `Y prechide there fastyng bisidis the flood of Hanna, that we schulden be turmentid bifor `oure Lord God, and that we schulden axe of him the riytful weie to vs, and to oure sones, and to al oure catel.
21 Então, ali perto do rio Aava, dei ordem para que houvesse um dia de jejum. Todos nós deveríamos nos ajoelhar diante do nosso Deus e lhe pedir que nos dirigisse na nossa viagem e nos protegesse, os nossos filhos e tudo o que era nosso.
22 For Y schamede to axe of the kyng help, and horse men, that schulden defende vs fro enemyes in the weie, for we hadden seid to the king, The hond of oure God is on alle men that seken hym in goodnesse; and his lordschip, and his strengthe, and strong veniaunce ben on alle men that forsaken hym.
22 Eu tinha dito ao rei que o nosso Deus protege todos os que confiam nele, porém que a sua força e a sua ira vão contra aqueles que o abandonam. Por isso, fiquei com vergonha de pedir ao rei uma tropa de soldados da cavalaria para nos defender dos nossos inimigos durante a viagem.
23 Forsothe we fastiden, and preieden oure God for this thing, and it bifelde to vs `bi prosperite.
23 Assim nós jejuamos e oramos, pedindo a Deus que nos protegesse, e ele atendeu as nossas orações.
24 And `Y departide twelue of the princes of prestis, Sarabie, and Asabie, and ten of her britheren with hem;
24 Dos chefes dos sacerdotes, eu escolhi Serebias, Hasabias e outros dez.
25 and Y bitook vndur certeyn weiyte and noumbre to hem the siluer and gold, and the halewid vessels of the hows of oure God, whiche the kyng hadde offrid, and hise counseleris, and hise princes, and `al Israel, of hem that weren foundun.
25 Então pesei a prata, o ouro e os objetos que o rei, os seus conselheiros e funcionários e o povo de Israel haviam dado para serem usados no Templo. E entreguei tudo a esses sacerdotes. O que eu entreguei foi o seguinte: vinte e dois mil quilos de prata; cem objetos de prata, pesando setenta quilos; três mil e quinhentos quilos de ouro; vinte taças de ouro, pesando oito quilos e meio; dois objetos de fino bronze, preciosos como ouro.
26 And Y bitook vndur certeyn weiyte and noumbre in the hondis of hem sixe hundrid and fifti talentis of siluer, and an hundrid siluerne vessels; an hundrid talentis of gold,

27 and twenti goldun cuppis, that hadden a thousynde peesis of gold; and twei faire vessels of best bras, schynynge as gold.

28 And Y seide to hem, Ye ben the hooli men of the Lord,
28 Então eu lhes disse: — Vocês estão separados para servir o
29 and wake ye, and kepe the hooli vessels, and siluer and gold, which is offrid bi fre wille to the Lord God of oure fadris, til ye yelde vndur certeyn weiyte and noumbre bifor th princes of prestis, and of dekenes, and bifor the duykis of meynees of Israel in Jerusalem, in to the tresour of Goddis hows.
29 Tomem bem conta deles até que vocês cheguem ao Templo. Ali, nas salas do Templo do Senhor , vocês pesarão e entregarão tudo aos chefes dos sacerdotes e dos levitas e aos líderes do povo de Israel em Jerusalém.
30 Sotheli the preestis and dekenes token the weiyte of siluer, and of gold, and of vessels, for to bere in to Jerusalem, in to the hows of oure God.
30 Então os sacerdotes e os levitas receberam a prata, o ouro e os objetos a fim de os levar para o Templo de Jerusalém.
31 Therfor we mouyden forth fro the flood of Hanna, in the tweluethe dai of the firste monethe, for to go in to Jerusalem; and the hond of oure God was on vs, and delyuerde vs fro the hond of enemye and of aspiere in the weie.
31 No dia doze do primeiro mês, nós saímos do rio Aava a fim de ir para Jerusalém. O nosso Deus esteve conosco durante a viagem e nos protegeu dos ataques dos inimigos e dos bandidos.
32 And we camen to Jerusalem, and we dwelliden there thre daies.
32 Quando chegamos a Jerusalém, descansamos três dias.
33 Forsothe in the fourthe dai the siluer was yoldun vndur certeyn weiyte and noumbre, and the gold, and the vessels, `in the hows of oure God, by the noumbre and weiyte of alle thingis, bi the hond of Remmoth, `sone of Vrie, preest; and with him was Eleazar, the sone of Phynees, and with him weren Jozaded, the sone of Josue, and Noadaie, the sone of Bennoy, dekenes;
33 E então, no quarto dia, fomos ao Templo e pesamos a prata, o ouro e os objetos. E os entregamos ao sacerdote Meremote, filho de Urias. Com ele estavam Eleazar, filho de Fineias, e dois levitas : Jozabade, filho de Jesua, e Noadias, filho de Binui.
34 and al the weiyte was discriued in that tyme.
34 A prata, o ouro e os objetos foram contados e pesados, e o peso foi anotado.
35 But also the sones of transmygracioun, that camen fro caitifte, offriden brent sacrifices to the Lord God of Israel, `twelue calues for al the puple of Israel, nynti and sixe rammes, seuene and seuenti lambren, twelue buckis of geet for synne; alle thingis in to brent sacrifice to the Lord.
35 Depois todos os que voltaram da Babilônia entregaram animais para serem completamente queimados como sacrifícios ao Deus de Israel. Eles ofereceram doze touros em favor do povo de Israel, noventa e seis carneiros, setenta e sete carneirinhos e, para purificar o povo dos pecados, doze bodes. Todos esses animais foram completamente queimados como sacrifícios a Deus, o Senhor .
36 Forsothe thei yauen the comaundementis of the kyng to the princes, that weren of the siyt of the king, and to the duykis biyende the flood; and thei reisiden the puple, and the hows of God.
36 Depois entregaram a ordem do rei às autoridades do reino e aos governadores da província do Eufrates-Oeste , e estes ajudaram o povo e o culto no Templo de Deus.
