1 And so we turneden, and stieden bi the weie of Basan; and Og, the kyng of Basan, yede out ayens vs with his puple, to fiyte in Edrai.
1 Depois, voltamos e subimos rumo a Basã. Ogue, rei de Basã, atacou-nos com todo o seu exército, em Edrei.
2 And the Lord seide to me, Drede thou not hym, for he is bitakun in thin hond, with al his puple, and his lond; and thou schalt do to hym, as thou didist to Seon, kyng of Ammoreis, that dwellide in Esebon.
2 O Senhor me disse: "Não tenha medo dele, pois eu o entreguei em suas mãos, com todo o seu exército, e dei-lhe também a terra dele. Você fará com ele como fez com Seom, rei dos amorreus, que habitava em Hesbom".
3 Therfor oure Lord God bitook in oure hondis also Og, kyng of Basan, and al his puple; and we han smyte hym `til to deeth,
3 Então o Senhor, o nosso Deus, também nos entregou em nossas mãos Ogue, rei de Basã, e todo o seu exército. Nós os derrotamos, sem deixar nenhum sobrevivente.
4 and wastiden alle the citees `of him in o tyme; no town was that ascapide vs; `we destrieden sixti citees, al the cuntrei of Argob, of the rewme of Og in Basan.
4 Naquela ocasião conquistamos todas as suas cidades. Não houve cidades que não tomássemos. Foram sessenta cidades, em toda a região de Argobe, o reino de Ogue, em Basã.
5 Alle the citees weren strengthid with hiyest wallis, and with yatis and barris; with out townes vnnoumbrable, that hadden not wallis.
5 Todas essas cidades eram fortificadas com muros altos e com portas e trancas. Além delas havia muitas cidades sem muros.
6 And we diden awey thilke men, as we diden to Seon, kyng of Esebon; and we losten ech citee, and men, and wymmen, and litle children;
6 Nós as destruímos completamente, tal como havíamos feito com Seom, rei de Hesbom, destruindo todas as cidades, matando também os homens, as mulheres e as crianças.
7 forsothe we token bi prey beestis, and the spuylis of citees.
7 Mas os animais todos e o despojo das cidades tomamos como espólio de guerra.
8 And we token in that tyme the lond fro the hond of twey kyngis of Ammorreis, that weren biyonde Jordan, fro the stronde of Arnon `til to the hil of Hermon,
8 Foi assim que, naquela ocasião, tomamos desses dois reis amorreus o território a leste do Jordão, que vai desde o ribeiro do Arnom até o monte Hermom.
9 `which hil Sidonyes clepen Sarion, and Ammorreis clepen Sanyr.
9 ( Os sidônios chamam o Hermom de Siriom; e os amorreus o chamam Senir. )
10 We tooken alle the citees that weren set in the pleyn, and al the lond of Galaad, and of Basan, `til to Selcha and Edray, citees of the rewme of Og, in Basan.
10 Conquistamos todas as cidades do planalto, e toda a Gileade, e também toda a Basã, até Salcá e Edrei, cidades do reino de Ogue, em Basã.
11 For Og aloone, kyng of Basan, was left of the generacioun of giauntis; and his yrun bed is schewid, which is in Rabath, of the sones of Amon, and hath nyne cubitis of lengthe, and foure cubitis of breede, at the mesure of a cubit of mannus hond.
11 Ogue, rei de Basã, era o único sobrevivente dos refains. Sua cama era de ferro e tinha, pela medida comum, quatro metros de comprimento e um metro e oitenta centímetros de largura. Ela ainda está em Rabá dos amonitas.
12 And we weldiden in that tyme the lond, fro Aroer, which is on the `brynke of the stronde of Arnon, `til to the myddil paart of the hil of Galaad; and Y yaf the citees `of hym to Ruben and Gad.
12 Da terra da qual tomamos posse naquela época, o território que vai de Aroer, junto ao ribeiro do Arnom, até mais da metade dos montes de Gileade com as suas cidades, dei-o às tribos de Rúben e de Gade.
13 Forsothe Y yaf the tother part of Galaad, and al Basan, of the rewme of Og, to the half lynage of Manasses, and al the cuntrei of Argob. Al Basan was clepid the lond of giauntis.
13 O restante de Gileade e também toda a Basã, o reino de Ogue, dei-o à metade da tribo de Manassés. ( Toda a região de Argobe em Basã era conhecida no passado como a terra dos refains.
14 Jair, `sone of Manasses, weldide al the cuntrey of Argob, `til to the lond of Gesuri and of Machati; and he clepide bi his name Basan Anothiair, that is, the townes of Jair, til in to present dai.
14 Jair, um descendente de Manassés, conquistou toda a região de Argobe até à fronteira dos gesuritas e dos maacatitas; essa região recebeu o seu nome, de modo que até hoje Basã é chamada Povoados de Jair. )
15 Also Y yaf Galaad to Machir; and to the lynagis of Ruben and of Gad Y yaf the lond of Galaad, `til to the strond of Arnon, the myddil of the stronde,
15 E dei Gileade a Maquir.
16 and of the endis `til to the stronde of Jeboth, which is the terme of `the sones of Amon.
16 Às tribos de Rúben e de Gade dei a região que vai de Gileade, até o ribeiro do Arnom ( a fronteira passava bem no meio do vale ) e até o vale do Jaboque, na fronteira dos amonitas.
17 And Y yaf the pleyn of the wildernesse `til to Jordan, and the termes of Cenereth `til to the see of deseert, which see is moost salt, at the rotis of the hil of Phasga, ayens the eest.
17 Dei-lhe também a Arabá, tendo como fronteira ocidental o Jordão, desde Quinerete até o mar da Arabá, que é o mar Salgado, abaixo das encostas do Pisga.
18 And Y comaundide to you in that tyme, and seide, Youre Lord God yyueth to you this lond in to erytage;
18 Naquela ocasião eu lhes ordenei o seguinte: O Senhor, o Deus de vocês, deu-lhes esta terra para que dela tomem posse. Todos os guerreiros devem marchar à frente dos seus irmãos israelitas, armados para a guerra!
19 alle ye stronge men, without wyues and litle children and beestis, be maad redi, and `go ye bifor youre brithren, the sones of Israel. For Y knowe that ye han many beestis, and tho schulen dwelle in citees whiche Y yaf to you,
19 Deixem nas cidades que lhes dei as mulheres, as crianças e os grandes rebanhos, que eu sei que vocês possuem,
20 til the Lord yyue reste to youre brithren, as he yaf to you, and til thei also welden the lond `which the Lord schal yyue to hem biyonde Jordan; thanne ech man schal turne ayen in to his possessioun which Y yaf to you.
20 até que o Senhor conceda descanso aos seus outros irmãos israelitas como deu a vocês, e tomem eles posse da terra que o Senhor, o Deus de vocês, está dando a eles, do outro lado do Jordão. Depois vocês poderão retornar, cada um à propriedade que lhes dei.
21 Also Y comaundid to Josue in that tyme, and seide, Thin iyen sien what thingis youre Lord God dide to these twei kyngis; so he schal do to alle rewmes, to whiche thou schalt go; drede thou not hem.
21 Naquela ocasião também ordenei a Josué: "Você viu com os seus próprios olhos tudo o que o Senhor, o Deus de vocês, fez com estes dois reis. Assim o Senhor fará com todos os reinos pelos quais vocês terão que passar.
22 And Y preiede the Lord in that tyme,
22 Não tenham medo deles. O Senhor, o Deus de vocês, é quem lutará por vocês".
23 and seide, Lord God, thou hast bigunne to schewe to thi seruaunt thi greetnesse, and strongeste hond,
23 Naquela ocasião implorei ao Senhor:
24 for noon other God is ether in heuene, ether in erthe, that mai do thi werkis, and may be comparisound to thi strengthe.
24 "Ó Soberano Senhor, tu começaste a mostrar a teu servo a tua grandeza e a tua mão poderosa! Que Deus existe no céu ou na terra que possa realizar as tuas obras e os teus feitos poderosos?
25 Therfor Y schal passe, and schal se this beeste lond biyende Jordan, and this noble hil and Liban.
25 Deixa-me atravessar, eu te suplico, e ver a boa terra do outro lado do Jordão, a bela região montanhosa e o Líbano! "
26 And the Lord was wrooth to me for you, nethir he herde me, but seide to me, It suffisith to thee; speke thou no more of this thing to me.
26 Todavia, por causa de vocês, o Senhor irou-se contra mim e não quis me atender. "Basta", ele disse. "Não me fale mais sobre isso.
27 `Stye thou in to the hiynesse of Phasga, and caste aboute thin iyen to the west, and north, and south, and eest, and biholde, for thou schalt not passe this Jordan.
27 Suba ao ponto mais alto do Pisga e olhe para o Oeste, para o Norte, para o Sul, e para o Leste. Veja a terra com os seus próprios olhos, pois você não atravessará o Jordão.
28 Comaunde thou to Josue, and strengthe thou and coumforte hym; for he schal go bifore this puple, and he schal departe to hem the lond, which thou schalt se.
28 Portanto, dê ordens a Josué, fortaleça-o e encoraje-o; porque será ele que atravessará à frente deste povo, e lhes repartirá por herança a terra que você apenas verá".
29 And we dwelliden in the valey ayens the temple of Phegor.
29 Então ficamos acampados no vale, diante de Bete-Peor.
