1 Be ye the sones of youre Lord God; ye schulen not kitte you, nether ye schulen make ballidnesse,
1 Vocês são filhos do Senhor , seu Deus. Não façam cortes em seu corpo, nem rapem a parte da frente da cabeça por causa de algum morto.
2 on a deed man, for thou art an hooli puple to thi Lord God, and he chees thee that thou be to hym in to a special puple, of alle folkis that ben on erthe.
2 Porque vocês são povo santo ao Senhor , seu Deus, e o Senhor os escolheu de todos os povos que há sobre a face da terra, para lhe serem o seu povo próprio.
3 Ete ye not tho thingis that ben vncleene.
3 — Não comam coisa alguma abominável.
4 This is a beeste which ye schulen ete; an oxe, and a scheep, and a goet, an hert,
4 São estes os animais que vocês podem comer: o boi, a ovelha, a cabra,
5 a capret, a `wielde oxe, tregelafun, `that is, a beeste in parti lijk `a buk of geet, and in parti liik an hert, a figarde, an ostrich, a camelioun, `that is, a beeste lijk in the heed to a camel, and hath white spottis in the bodi as a parde, and `is lijk an hors in the necke, and in the feet is lijc a `wilde oxe, and a parde.
5 o veado, a gazela, a corça, a cabra selvagem, o antílope, a ovelha selvagem e o gamo.
6 Ye schulen ete ech beeste that departith the clee `in to twei partis, and chewith code.
6 Vocês podem comer todos os animais que têm unhas fendidas, cujo casco se divide em dois e que ruminam.
7 Sotheli ye schulen not ete these beestis, of these that chewen code, and departen not the clee; a camel, an hare, and a cirogrille, `that is, a beeste ful of prickis, and is more than an irchoun; for tho chewen code, and departen not the clee, tho schulen be vncleene to you;
7 Porém dos que ruminam ou que têm a unha fendida vocês não podem comer o camelo, a lebre e o arganaz, porque ruminam, mas não têm a unha fendida; serão impuros para vocês.
8 also a swyn, for it departith the clee, and chewith not code, schal be vncleene; ye schulen not ete the fleischis of tho, and ye schulen not touche the deed bodies.
8 Nem o porco, porque tem unha fendida, mas não rumina; será impuro para vocês. Destes vocês não devem comer a carne, nem tocar no seu cadáver.
9 Ye schulen ete these thingis, of alle that dwellen in watris; ete ye tho thingis that han fynnes and scalis;
9 — Dos animais que vivem nas águas vocês podem comer tudo o que tem barbatanas e escamas.
10 ete ye not tho thingis that ben with out fynnes and scalis, for tho ben vncleene.
10 Mas tudo o que não tiver barbatanas nem escamas vocês não podem comer; será impuro para vocês.
11 Ete ye alle clene briddis;
11 — Toda ave pura vocês podem comer.
12 ete ye not vncleene briddis, that is, an egle, and a gripe,
12 Estas, porém, são as que vocês não devem comer: a águia, o urubu, a águia marinha,
13 and an aliete, ixon, `that is, a whijt brid lesse than a vultur, and is of the `kynde of vultris, and a vultur, and a kite bi his kynde,
13 o açor, o falcão e o milhano, segundo a sua espécie;
14 and al thing of rauenys kynde,
14 e todo corvo, segundo a sua espécie;
15 and a strucioun, and a nyyt crowe, and a lare,
15 o avestruz, a coruja, a gaivota e o gavião, segundo a sua espécie;
16 and an hauk bi his kynde, a fawcun,
16 o mocho, a íbis, a gralha,
17 and a swan, and a siconye, and a dippere, a pursirioun, and a reremous, a cormeraunt,
17 o pelicano, o abutre, o corvo marinho,
18 and a caladrie, alle in her kynde; also a lapwynke and a backe.
18 a cegonha, e a garça, segundo a sua espécie, e a poupa e o morcego.
19 And al thing that crepith, and hath fynnes, schal be vncleene, and schal not be etun.
19 — Também todo inseto que voa será impuro para vocês; não se comerá.
20 Ete ye al thing that is cleene; sotheli what euer thing is deed bi it silf, ete ye not therof.
20 Todo ser que tem asas e for puro vocês podem comer.
21 Yyue thou to the pilgrym which is with ynne thi yatis, that he ete, ether sille thou to hym, for thou art the hooli puple of thi Lord God. Thou schalt not sethe a kyde in `the mylk of his modir.
21 — Não comam nenhum animal que morreu por si mesmo. Vocês podem dá-lo ao estrangeiro que mora na cidade onde vocês vivem, para que o coma, ou vendê-lo ao estranho. Porque vocês são povo santo ao Senhor , seu Deus. — Não cozinhem o cabrito no leite da sua própria mãe.
22 Thou schalt departe the tenthe part of alle thi fruytis that comen forth in the lond bi ech yeer;
22 — Certamente vocês devem dar o dízimo de todo o fruto das suas sementes, que ano após ano se recolher do campo.
23 and thou schal ete in the siyt of thi Lord God, in the place which he chees, that his name be clepid therynne; thou schalt offre the tithe of thi wheete, wyn, and oile, and the firste gendryd thingis of thi droues, and scheep, that thou lerne to drede thi Lord God in al tyme.
23 E, diante do Senhor , seu Deus, no lugar que ele escolher para ali fazer habitar o seu nome, vocês comerão os dízimos do cereal, do vinho, do azeite e os primogênitos das vacas e das ovelhas. Façam isso para que aprendam a temer o Senhor , seu Deus, todos os dias.
24 Sotheli whanne the wei is lengere, and the place which thi Lord God chees is fer, and he hath blessid thee, and thou maist not bere alle these thingis to that place,
24 Se o caminho for comprido demais e não lhes for possível levar isso, por estar longe de vocês o lugar que o Senhor , seu Deus, escolher para ali fazer habitar o seu nome, então, quando o Senhor , seu Deus, os tiver abençoado,
25 thou schalt sille alle thingis, and schalt turne in to prijs, and thou schalt bere in thin hond, and thou schalt go to the place which thi Lord God chees;
25 vendam aquilo e, com o dinheiro na sua mão, vão ao lugar que o Senhor , o Deus de vocês, escolher.
26 and thou schalt bie of the same money what euer thing plesith to thee, ethir of droues, ether of scheep; also thou schalt bie wyn, and sidur, and al thing that thi soule desirith; and thou schalt ete bifor thi Lord God, and thou schalt make feeste,
26 Com esse dinheiro comprem tudo o que quiserem: vacas, ovelhas, vinho ou bebida forte, ou qualquer coisa que desejarem. Consumam isso ali na presença do Senhor , seu Deus, e alegrem-se, vocês e os membros da sua casa.
27 thou, and thin hows, and the dekene which is withynne thi yatis; be thou war lest thou forsake hym, for he hath not other part in possessioun.
27 — Porém não desamparem os levitas que moram nas cidades de vocês, pois não têm parte nem herança com vocês.
28 In the thridde yeer thou schalt departe another dyme of alle thingis that growen to thee in that yeer, and thou schalt kepe withynne thi yatis.
28 Ao fim de cada três anos, tirem todos os dízimos do fruto do terceiro ano e os recolham nas cidades de vocês.
29 And the dekene schal come, whych hath noon other part nether possessioun with thee, and the pilgrym, and the fadirles, ether modirles child, and widue, that ben withynne thi yatis, `schulen come, and schulen ete, and be fillid, that thi Lord God blesse thee, in alle werkis of thin hondis whiche thou schalt do.
29 Então virão os levitas — porque não têm parte nem herança com vocês —, os estrangeiros, os órfãos e as viúvas que moram nas cidades de vocês, e comerão e se fartarão, para que o Senhor , o seu Deus, os abençoe em todas as obras que vocês fizerem.
