¹ Thanne Salomon seide, The Lord bihiyte, that he wolde dwelle in derknesse;

¹ Então falou Salomão: O SENHOR tem dito que ele habitaria na profunda escuridão.

² forsothe I haue bilde an hows to his name, that he schulde dwelle there with outen ende.

² Eu, porém, edifiquei uma casa de habitação para ti, e um lugar para a tua eterna morada.

³ And Salomon turnede his face, and blesside al the multitude of Israel; for al the cumpeny stood ententif; and he seide,

³ E o rei virou a sua face, e abençoou toda a congregação de Israel, e toda a congregação de Israel estava em pé.

⁴ Blessid be the Lord God of Israel, for he fillide in werk that thing, that he spak to Dauid, my fadir, and seide,

⁴ E ele disse: Bendito seja o SENHOR Deus de Israel, que com as suas mãos, cumpriu aquilo que ele falou com a sua boca ao meu pai Davi, dizendo:

⁵ Fro the dai in which Y ledde my puple out of the lond of Egipt, Y chees not a citee of alle the lynagis of Israel, that an hows schulde be bildid therynne to my name, nether Y chees ony other man, that he schulde be duyk on my puple Israel;

⁵ Desde o dia em que eu retirei o meu povo da terra do Egito eu não escolhi cidade alguma dentre todas as tribos de Israel para nela edificar uma casa, para que o meu nome pudesse ali estar; tampouco escolhi homem algum para ser soberano sobre o meu povo, Israel;

⁶ but Y chees Jerusalem, that my name be therynne, and Y chees Dauid, to ordeyne hym on my puple Israel.

⁶ mas escolhi Jerusalém, para que o meu nome pudesse estar ali; e escolhi Davi para estar sobre o meu povo, Israel.

⁷ And whanne it was of the wille of Dauid, my fadir, to bilde an hows to the name of the Lord God of Israel,

⁷ Ora, estava no coração de Davi, o meu pai, edificar uma casa para o nome do SENHOR Deus de Israel.

⁸ the Lord seide to hym, For this was thi wille, `that thou woldist bilde an hows to my name, sotheli thou didist wel,

⁸ Porém, o SENHOR disse a Davi, o meu pai: Porquanto estava no teu coração edificar uma casa para o meu nome, fizeste bem em teres isto no teu coração.

⁹ hauynge suche a wil, but thou schalt not bilde an hows to me; netheles the sone, that schal go out of thi leendis, he schal bilde an hows to my name.

⁹ Todavia não edificarás a casa; mas o teu filho que sairá dos teus lombos, ele edificará a casa para o meu nome.

¹⁰ Therfor the Lord hath fillid his word, which he spak; and Y roos for Dauid, my fader, and Y sat on the trone of Israel, as the Lord spak, and Y bildide an hous to the name of the Lord God of Israel;

¹⁰ Portanto, o SENHOR cumpriu a palavra que falou; porque estou levantado no lugar de Davi, o meu pai, e estou posto no trono de Israel, como o SENHOR prometeu, e edifiquei a casa para o nome do SENHOR Deus de Israel.

¹¹ and I haue put therynne the arke, in which is the couenaunt of the Lord, which he `couenauntide with the sones of Israel.

¹¹ E nela pus a arca, na qual está o pacto do SENHOR, que ele fez com os filhos de Israel.

¹² Therfor Salomon stood bifor the auter of the Lord euene ayens al the multitude of Israel, and stretchide forth his hondis.

¹² E pôs-se em pé diante do altar do SENHOR na presença de toda a congregação de Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos;

¹³ For Salomon hadde maad a brasun foundement, and hadde set it in the myddis of the greet hows, and it hadde fyue cubitis of lengthe, and fyue of breede, and thre cubitis of heiythe, and he stood theron; and fro that tyme he knelide ayens al the multitude of Israel, and reiside the hondis in to heuene,

¹³ porque Salomão havia feito uma plataforma de bronze, de cinco côvados de comprimento, e cinco côvados de largura, e três côvados de altura, e a havia posto no meio do átrio; e pôs-se em pé sobre ela, e ajoelhou-se diante de toda a congregação de Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos em direção ao céu,

¹⁴ and seide, Lord God of Israel, noon is lijk thee; `thou art God in heuene and in erthe, which kepist couenaunt and mercy with thi seruauntis, that goon bifor thee in al her herte;

¹⁴ e ele disse: Ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, não há Deus como tu no céu nem na terra, que guarda o pacto e demonstra misericórdia para com os teus servos que andam diante de ti de todo o seu coração.

¹⁵ which hast youe to Dauid thi seruaunt, my fadir, what euer thingis thou hast spoke to hym, and thow hast fillid in werk tho thingis, whiche thou bihiytist bi mouth, as also present tyme preueth.

¹⁵ Tu que tens guardado com o teu servo Davi, o meu pai, aquilo que lhe prometeste; e falaste com a tua boca, e o cumpriste com a tua mão, como é neste dia.

¹⁶ Now therfor, Lord God of Israel, fille thou to thi seruaunt my fadir Dauid, what euer thingis thou hast spoke, seiynge, A man of thee schal not faile bifor me, that schal sitte on the trone of Israel; so netheles if thi sones kepen my weies, and goon in my lawe, as and thou hast go bifor me.

¹⁶ Agora, portanto, Ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, guarda com o teu servo Davi, o meu pai, aquilo que tu lhe prometeste, dizendo: Não te faltará um homem diante de mim, para se assentar no trono de Israel; de modo que os teus filhos atentem ao seu caminho para andarem na minha lei, como tu andastes diante de mim.

¹⁷ And now, Lord God of Israel, thi word be maad stidefast, which thou spakist to thi seruaunt Dauid.

¹⁷ Agora, pois, ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, cumpra-se a tua palavra, a qual falaste ao teu servo Davi.

¹⁸ Therfor whether it is leueful, that the Lord dwelle with men on erthe? If heuene and the heuenes of heuenes `taken not thee, how myche more this hows, which Y haue bildid?

¹⁸ Mas, verdadeiramente habitará Deus, com os homens na terra? Eis que o céu e o céu dos céus não são capazes de te conter; quanto menos esta casa que eu construí!

¹⁹ But herto oneli it is maad, that thou, my Lord God, biholde the preier of thi seruaunt, and the bisechyng of hym, and that thou here the preieris, whiche thi seruaunt schedith bifor thee;

¹⁹ Tem consideração, portanto, pela oração do teu servo, e pela sua súplica, ó SENHOR meu Deus, para atentares ao clamor e a oração, a qual o teu servo suplica diante de ti;

²⁰ that thou opyne thin iyen on this hows bi dayes and nyytis, on the place in which thou bihiytist, that thi name schulde be clepid,

²⁰ para que os teus olhos possam estar abertos sobre esta casa dia e noite, sobre o lugar do qual disseste que ali colocarias o teu nome; para atentares à oração que o teu servo ora em direção a este lugar.

²¹ and that thou woldist here the preier, which thi seruaunt preieth therynne. Here thou the preieris of thi seruaunt, and of thi puple Israel; who euer preieth in this place, here thou fro thi dwellyng place, that is, fro heuenes, and do thou merci.

²¹ Ouve, portanto, as súplicas do teu servo, e do teu povo, Israel, as quais eles farão em direção a este lugar; ouve do lugar da tua habitação, a saber, do céu; e quando ouvires, perdoa.

²² If ony man synneth ayens his neiybore, and cometh redi to swere ayens him, and byndith hym silf with cursyng bifor the auter in this hows,

²² Se um homem pecar contra o seu próximo, e sobre ele lançado um juramento para fazê-lo jurar, e o juramento chegar diante do teu altar nesta casa;

²³ thou schalt here fro heuene, and schalt do the doom of thi seruauntis; so that thou yelde to the wickid man his weie in to his owne heed, and that thou venge the iust man, and yelde to hym after his riytfulnesse.

²³ ouve do céu, e faz, e julga os teus servos, condenando ao ímpio, para fazeres recair o seu proceder sobre a sua própria cabeça, e justificando ao justo, dando-lhe segundo a sua justiça.

²⁴ If thi puple Israel is ouercomen of enemyes, for thei schulen do synne ayens thee, and if thei conuertid doen penaunce, and bisechen thi name, and preien in this place,

²⁴ E se o teu povo, Israel, for derrotado diante do inimigo, por terem pecado contra ti; e se converterem e confessarem o teu nome e orarem e fizerem súplicas diante de ti nesta casa;

²⁵ thou schalt here fro heuene, and do thou mercy to the synne of thi puple Israel, and brynge hem ayen `in to the lond, which thou hast youe to hem, and to `the fadris of hem.

²⁵ então, ouve tu dos céus, e perdoa o pecado do teu povo, Israel, e traz-lhes de volta para a terra que tu deste a eles e a seus pais.

²⁶ If whanne heuene is closid, reyn come not doun for the synne of thi puple, and thei bisechen thee in this place, and knowlechen to thi name, and ben turned fro her synnes, whanne thou hast turmentid hem,

²⁶ Quando o céu estiver fechado, e não houver chuva, por terem pecado contra ti; todavia se eles orarem em direção a este lugar, e confessarem o teu nome, e se converterem do seu pecado, quando tu os afligires;

²⁷ here thou, Lord, fro heuene, and foryyue thou synnes to thi seruauntis, and to thi puple Israel, and teche thou hem a good weie, bi which thei schulen entre, and yyue thou reyn to the lond, which thou hast youe to thi puple to haue in possessioun.

²⁷ então, ouve tu do céu, e perdoa o pecado dos teus servos, e do teu povo, Israel, ensinando-lhes o bom caminho no qual eles devem caminhar; e envia chuva sobre a tua terra, a qual tens dado ao teu povo por herança.

²⁸ If hungur risith in the lond, and pestilence, and rust, and wynd distriynge cornes, and a locuste, and bruke cometh, and if enemyes bisegen the yatis of the citee, aftir that the cuntreis ben distried, and al veniaunce and sikenesse oppressith;

²⁸ Se houver fome na terra, se houver peste, se houver crestamento ou mofo, locustas ou lagartas; se os seus inimigos os cercarem nas cidades da sua terra; qualquer que seja a ferida, ou qualquer que seja a enfermidade que houver;

²⁹ if ony of thi puple Israel bisechith, and knowith his veniaunce and sikenesse, and if he spredith abrood hise hondis in this hows,

²⁹ então qualquer que seja a oração ou súplica que for feita por qualquer homem, ou de todo o teu povo Israel, quando cada um conhecer a sua própria ferida e a sua própria angústia, e estender as suas mãos nesta casa;

³⁰ thou schalt here fro heuene, that is, fro thin hiye dwellyng place, and do thou mercy, and yelde thou to ech man aftir hise weies, whiche thou knowist, that he hath in his herte; for thou aloone knowist the hertis of the sones of men;

³⁰ então, ouve tu do céu, o teu lugar de habitação, e perdoa, e concede a cada homem conforme todos os seus caminhos, cujo o coração tu conheces, (pois tu somente conheces os corações dos filhos dos homens),

³¹ that thei drede thee, and go in thi weies in alle daies, in which thei lyuen on the face of erthe, which thou hast youe to oure fadris.

³¹ para que eles possam temer a ti, andando nos teus caminhos, enquanto viverem na terra que tu deste aos nossos pais.

³² Also thou schalt here fro heuene, thi moost stidfast dwellyng place, a straunger, which is not of thi puple Israel, if he cometh fro a fer lond for thi greet name, and for thi stronge hond, and arm holdun forth, `and preye in this place;

³² Além disso, acerca do estrangeiro, o qual não é do teu povo, Israel, mas é chegado de terras distantes por causa do teu grande nome, e da tua forte mão, e do teu braço estendido; vindo eles e orando nesta casa;

³³ and thou schalt do alle thingis, for which thilke pilgrym `inwardli clepith thee, that alle the puplis of erthe knowe thi name, and drede thee, as thi puple Israel doith; and that thei knowe, that thi name is clepid on this hows, which Y haue bildid to thi name.

³³ ouve tu dos céus, do teu lugar de habitação, e faz segundo tudo o que o estrangeiro te clamar; para que todos os povos da terra possam conhecer o teu nome, e temer-te como faz o teu povo, Israel; e possam saber que essa casa, a qual edifiquei, é chamada pelo teu nome.

³⁴ If thi puple goith out to batel ayens hise aduersaries, bi the weie in which thou sendist hem, thei schulen worschipe thee ayens the weie in which this citee is, which thou hast chose, and the hows which Y bildide to thi name,

³⁴ Se o teu povo sair à guerra contra os seus inimigos, pelo caminho que tu os enviares, e eles orarem a ti voltados para esta cidade que tu escolheste, e a casa que eu construí para o teu nome;

³⁵ that thou here fro heuene her preieris and bisechyng, and do veniaunce.

³⁵ então, ouve tu dos céus a sua oração e a sua súplica, e sustenta a sua causa.

³⁶ Forsothe if thei synnen ayens thee, for no man is that synneth not, and if thou art wrooth to hem, and bitakist hem to enemyes; and enemyes leden hem prisoneris in to a fer lond, ether certis which lond is nyy;

³⁶ Se eles pecarem contra ti, (pois não há homem que não peque) e tu ficares irado com eles, e os entregares diante dos seus inimigos, e eles os levarem cativos para uma terra longínqua ou próxima;

³⁷ and if thei ben conuertid in her herte in the lond, to which thei ben led prisoneris, and thei don penaunce, and bisechen thee in the lond of her caitifte, and seien, We han synned, we han do wickidly, we diden vniustli;

³⁷ e na terra, para onde forem levados cativos, caírem em si, e se converterem e orarem a ti na terra do seu cativeiro, dizendo: Pecamos, fizemos o mal, e agimos impiamente;

³⁸ and if thei turnen ayen to thee in al her herte, and in al her soule, in the lond of her caitifte, to which thei ben led, thei schulen worschipe thee ayens the weie of her lond, which thou hast youe to the fadris of hem, and of the citee which thou hast chose, and of the hows which Y bildide to thi name; that thou here fro heuene,

³⁸ se voltarem a ti de todo o seu coração e de toda a sua alma na terra do seu cativeiro, para a qual foram levados cativos, e orarem em direção à sua terra, a qual tu deste aos seus pais, e em direção à cidade que tu escolheste, e em direção à casa que edifiquei para o teu nome,

³⁹ that is, fro thi stidefast dwellyng place, the preieris of hem, and that thou make dom, and foryyue to thi puple, thouy `it be synful; for thou art my God;

³⁹ então, ouve dos céus, a saber, do teu local de habitação, as suas orações e as suas súplicas, e sustenta a sua causa, e perdoa o teu povo que pecou contra ti.

⁴⁰ Y biseche, be thin iyen openyd, and thin eeris be ententif to the preier which is maad in this place.

⁴⁰ Agora, Deus meu, suplico-te que estejam abertos os teus olhos, e que os teus ouvidos estejam atentos à oração que é feita neste lugar.

⁴¹ Now therfor, Lord God, rise in to thi reste, thou and the arke of thi strengthe; Lord God, thi preestis be clothid with helthe, and thi hooli men be glad in goodis.

⁴¹ Agora, portanto, levanta-te, ó SENHOR Deus, no teu lugar de repouso, tu e a arca da tua fortaleza; que os teus sacerdotes, ó SENHOR Deus, sejam revestidos de salvação, e que os teus santos se regozijem em bondade.

⁴² Lord God, turne thou not a weie the face of thi crist; haue thou mynde on the mercyes of Dauid thi seruaunt.

⁴² Ó SENHOR Deus, não desvies a tua face dos teus ungidos; lembra-te das misericórdias de Davi, o teu servo.
