1 Therfor we that han this admynystracioun, aftir this that we han getun merci,
1 Portanto, visto que Deus, em sua misericórdia, nos deu a tarefa de ministrar nesse novo sistema, nunca desistimos.
2 faile we not, but do we awei the preue thingis of schame, not walkinge in sutil gile, nether doynge auoutrye bi the word of God, but in schewynge of the treuthe comendynge vs silf to ech conscience of men bifor God.
2 Rejeitamos todos os atos vergonhosos e métodos dissimulados. Não procuramos enganar ninguém nem distorcemos a palavra de Deus. Em vez disso, dizemos a verdade diante de Deus, e todos que são honestos sabem disso.
3 For if also oure gospel is kyuerid, in these that perischen it is kyuerid;
3 Se as boas-novas que anunciamos estão encobertas atrás de um véu, é apenas para aqueles que estão perecendo.
4 in which God hath blent the soulis of vnfeithful men of this world, that the liytnyng of the gospel of the glorie of Crist, which is the ymage of God, schyne not.
4 O deus deste mundo cegou a mente dos que não creem, para que não consigam ver a luz das boas-novas, não entendendo esta mensagem a respeito da glória de Cristo, que é a imagem de Deus.
5 But we prechen not vs silf, but oure Lord Jhesu Crist; and vs youre seruauntis bi Jhesu.
5 Não andamos por aí falando de nós mesmos, mas proclamamos que Jesus Cristo é Senhor e que nós mesmos somos servos de vocês por causa de Jesus.
6 For God, that seide liyt to schyne of derknessis, he hath youe liyt in oure hertis, to the liytnyng of the science of the clerenesse of God, in the face of Jhesu Crist.
6 Pois Deus, que disse: “Haja luz na escuridão”, é quem brilhou em nosso coração, para que conhecêssemos a glória de Deus na face de Jesus Cristo.
7 And we han this tresour in britil vessels, that the worthinesse be of Goddis vertu, and not of vs.
7 Agora nós mesmos somos como vasos frágeis de barro que contêm esse grande tesouro. Assim, fica evidente que esse grande poder vem de Deus, e não de nós.
8 In alle thingis we suffren tribulacioun, but we ben not angwischid, or annoyed; we ben maad pore, but `we lacken nothing; we suffren persecucioun,
8 De todos os lados somos pressionados por aflições, mas não esmagados. Ficamos perplexos, mas não desesperados.
9 but we ben not forsakun; we ben maad lowe, but we ben not confoundid; we ben cast doun, but we perischen not.
9 Somos perseguidos, mas não abandonados. Somos derrubados, mas não destruídos.
10 And euere more we beren aboute the sleyng of Jhesu in oure bodi, that also the lijf of Jhesu be schewid in oure bodies.
10 Pelo sofrimento, nosso corpo continua a participar da morte de Jesus, para que a vida de Jesus também se manifeste em nosso corpo.
11 For euere more we that lyuen, ben takun in to deth for Jhesu, that the lijf of Jhesu be schewid in oure deedli fleisch.
11 Sim, vivemos sob constante perigo de morte, porque servimos a Jesus, para que a vida de Jesus se manifeste em nosso corpo mortal.
12 Therfor deth worchith in vs, but lijf worchith in you.
12 Assim, enfrentamos a morte, mas isso resulta em vida para vocês.
13 And we han the same spirit of feith, as it is writun, Y haue bileuyd, Y haue spoke; and we bileuen, wherfor also we speken;
13 Continuamos a pregar porque temos o mesmo tipo de fé mencionada nas Escrituras: “Cri em Deus, por isso falei”.
14 witynge that he that reiside Jhesu, schal reise also vs with Jhesu, and schal ordeyne with you.
14 Sabemos que Deus, que ressuscitou o Senhor Jesus, também nos ressuscitará com Jesus e nos apresentará a ele junto com vocês.
15 And alle thingis for you, that a plenteuouse grace bi many thankyngis be plenteuouse in to the glorie of God.
15 Tudo isso é para o bem de vocês. E, à medida que a graça alcançar mais pessoas, haverá muitas ações de graças, e Deus receberá cada vez mais glória.
16 For which thing we failen not, for thouy oure vtter man be corruptid; netheles the ynner man is renewid fro dai to dai.
16 Por isso, nunca desistimos. Ainda que nosso exterior esteja morrendo, nosso interior está sendo renovado a cada dia.
17 But that liyt thing of oure tribulacioun that lastith now, but as it were by a moment, worchith in vs ouer mesure an euerlastynge birthin in to the heiynesse of glorie;
17 Pois estas aflições pequenas e momentâneas que agora enfrentamos produzem para nós uma glória que pesa mais que todas as angústias e durará para sempre.
18 while that we biholden not tho thingis that ben seyn, but tho that ben not seyn. For tho thingis that ben seyn, ben but durynge for a schort tyme; but tho thingis that ben not seyn, ben euerlastynge.
18 Portanto, não olhamos para aquilo que agora podemos ver; em vez disso, fixamos o olhar naquilo que não se pode ver. Pois as coisas que agora vemos logo passarão, mas as que não podemos ver durarão para sempre.
