1 Therfor, britheren, fro hennus forward we preien you, and bisechen in the Lord Jhesu, that as ye han resseyued of vs, hou it bihoueth you to go and to plese God, so walke ye, that ye abounde the more.
1 Finalmente, irmãos, vos rogamos e exortamos no Senhor Jesus que, assim como recebestes de nós, de que maneira convém andar e agradar a Deus, assim andai, para que continueis a progredir cada vez mais;
2 For ye witen what comaundementis Y haue youun to you bi the Lord Jhesu.
2 porque vós bem sabeis que mandamentos vos temos dado pelo Senhor Jesus.
3 For this is the wille of God, youre holynesse, that ye absteyne you fro fornycacioun.
3 Porque esta é a vontade de Deus, a vossa santificação: que vos abstenhais da prostituição,
4 That ech of you kunne welde his vessel in holynesse, and onour;
4 que cada um de vós saiba possuir o seu vaso em santificação e honra,
5 not in passioun of lust, as hethene men that knowen not God.
5 não na paixão de concupiscência, como os gentios, que não conhecem a Deus.
6 And that no man ouergo, nethir disseyue his brothir in chaffaring. For the Lord is venger of alle these thingis, as we biforseiden to you, and han witnessid.
6 Ninguém oprima ou engane a seu irmão em negócio algum, porque o Senhor é vingador de todas estas coisas, como também, antes, vo-lo dissemos e testificamos.
7 For God clepide not vs in to vnclennesse, but in to holynesse.
7 Porque não nos chamou Deus para a imundícia, mas para a santificação.
8 Therfor he that dispisith these thingis, dispisith not man, but God, that also yaf his holi spirit in vs.
8 Portanto, quem despreza isto não despreza ao homem, mas, sim, a Deus, que nos deu também o seu Espírito Santo.
9 But of the charite of britherhed we hadden no nede to write to you; ye silf han lerud of God, that ye loue togidere;
9 Quanto, porém, ao amor fraternal, não necessitais de que vos escreva, visto que vós mesmos estais instruídos por Deus que vos ameis uns aos outros;
10 for ye don that in to alle britheren in al Macedonye. And, britheren, we preyen you, that ye abounde more; and taken kepe, that ye be quyet;
10 porque também já assim o fazeis para com todos os irmãos que estão por toda a Macedônia. Exortamo-vos, porém, a que ainda nisto continueis a progredir cada vez mais,
11 and that ye do youre nede, and `ye worche with youre hoondis, as we han comaundid to you; and that ye wandre onestli to hem that ben with outforth, and that of no mannus ye desir ony thing.
11 e procureis viver quietos, e tratar dos vossos próprios negócios, e trabalhar com vossas próprias mãos, como já vo-lo temos mandado;
12 For, britheren, we wolen not, that ye vnknowe of men that dien, that ye be not soreuful, as othere that han not hope.
12 para que andeis honestamente para com os que estão de fora e não necessiteis de coisa alguma.
13 For if we bileuen, that Jhesu was deed, and roos ayen, so God schal lede with hym hem that ben deed bi Jhesu.
13 Não quero, porém, irmãos, que sejais ignorantes acerca dos que já dormem, para que não vos entristeçais, como os demais, que não têm esperança.
14 And we seien this thing to you in the word of the Lord, that we that lyuen, that ben left in the comyng of the Lord, schulen not come bifor hem that ben deed.
14 Porque, se cremos que Jesus morreu e ressuscitou, assim também aos que em Jesus dormem Deus os tornará a trazer com ele.
15 For the Lord hym silf schal come doun fro heuene, in the comaundement, and in the vois of an archaungel, and in the trumpe of God; and the deed men that ben in Crist, schulen rise ayen first.
15 Dizemo-vos, pois, isto pela palavra do Senhor: que nós, os que ficarmos vivos para a vinda do Senhor, não precederemos os que dormem.
16 Afterward we that lyuen, that ben left, schulen be rauyschid togidere with hem in cloudis, metinge Crist `in to the eir; and so euere more we schulen be with the Lord.
16 Porque o mesmo Senhor descerá do céu com alarido, e com voz de arcanjo, e com a trombeta de Deus; e os que morreram em Cristo ressuscitarão primeiro;
17 Therfor be ye coumfortid togidere in these wordis.
17 depois, nós, os que ficarmos vivos, seremos arrebatados juntamente com eles nas nuvens, a encontrar o Senhor nos ares, e assim estaremos sempre com o Senhor.

18 Portanto, consolai-vos uns aos outros com estas palavras.
