1 Dar any of you that hath a cause ayens another, be demed at wickid men, and not at hooli men?
1 Ousa algum de vós, tendo algum negócio contra outro, ir a juízo perante os injustos e não perante os santos?
2 Whether ye witen not, that seyntis schulen deme of this world? And if the world schal be demed bi you, be ye vnworthi to deme of the leste thingis?
2 Não sabeis vós que os santos hão de julgar o mundo? Ora, se o mundo deve ser julgado por vós, sois, porventura, indignos de julgar as coisas mínimas?
3 Witen ye not, that we schulen deme aungels? hou myche more worldli thingis?
3 Não sabeis vós que havemos de julgar os anjos? Quanto mais as coisas pertencentes a esta vida?
4 Therfor if ye han worldli domes, ordeyne ye tho contemptible men, that ben in the chirche, to deme.
4 Então, se tiverdes negócios em juízo, pertencentes a esta vida, pondes na cadeira aos que são de menos estima na igreja?
5 Y seie to make you aschamed. So ther is not ony wise man, that may deme bitwixe a brothir and his brothir;
5 Para vos envergonhar o digo: Não há, pois, entre vós sábios, nem mesmo um, que possa julgar entre seus irmãos?
6 but a brothir with brothir stryueth in dom, and that among vnfeithful men.
6 Mas o irmão vai a juízo com o irmão, e isso perante infiéis.
7 And now trespas is algatis in you, for ye han domes among you. Whi rather take ye no wrong? whi rather suffre ye not disseit?
7 Na verdade, é já realmente uma falta entre vós terdes demandas uns contra os outros. Por que não sofreis, antes, a injustiça? Por que não sofreis, antes, o dano?
8 But and ye doen wrong, and doen fraude, and that to britheren.
8 Mas vós mesmos fazeis a injustiça e fazeis o dano e isso aos irmãos.
9 Whether ye witen not, that wickid men schulen not welde the kyngdom of God? Nyle ye erre; nethir letchours, nether men that seruen mawmetis, nether auouteris,
9 Não sabeis que os injustos não hão de herdar o Reino de Deus?
10 nether letchouris ayen kynde, nether thei that doon letcheri with men, nether theues, nether auerouse men, nethir `ful of drunkenesse, nether curseris, nether rauenours, schulen welde the kyngdom of God.
10 Não erreis: nem os devassos, nem os idólatras, nem os adúlteros, nem os efeminados, nem os sodomitas, nem os ladrões, nem os avarentos, nem os bêbados, nem os maldizentes, nem os roubadores herdarão o Reino de Deus.
11 And ye weren sum tyme these thingis; but ye ben waischun, but ye ben halewid, but ye ben iustefied in the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, and in the spirit of oure God.
11 E é o que alguns têm sido, mas haveis sido lavados, mas haveis sido santificados, mas haveis sido justificados em nome do Senhor Jesus e pelo Espírito do nosso Deus.
12 Alle thingis ben leeueful to me, but not alle thingis ben spedeful. Alle thingis ben leeueful to me, but Y schal not be brouyt doun vndur ony mannus power.
12 Todas as coisas me são lícitas, mas nem todas as coisas convêm; todas as coisas me são lícitas, mas eu não me deixarei dominar por nenhuma.
13 Mete to the wombe, and the wombe to metis; and God schal distruye bothe this and that. And the bodi not to fornycacioun, but to the Lord, and the Lord to the bodi.
13 Os manjares são para o ventre, e o ventre, para os manjares; Deus, porém, aniquilará tanto um como os outros. Mas o corpo não é para a prostituição, senão para o Senhor, e o Senhor para o corpo.
14 For God reiside the Lord, and schal reise vs bi his vertu.
14 Ora, Deus, que também ressuscitou o Senhor, nos ressuscitará a nós pelo seu poder.
15 Witen ye not, that youre bodies ben membris of Crist? Schal Y thanne take the membris of Crist, and schal Y make the membris of an hoore? God forbede.
15 Não sabeis vós que os vossos corpos são membros de Cristo? Tomarei, pois, os membros de Cristo e fá-los-ei membros de uma meretriz? Não, por certo.
16 Whether ye witen not, that he that cleueth to an hoore, is maad o bodi? For he seith, Ther schulen be tweyne in o fleisch.
16 Ou não sabeis que o que se ajunta com a meretriz faz-se um corpo com ela? Porque serão, disse, dois numa só carne.
17 And he that cleueth to the Lord, is o spirit.
17 Mas o que se ajunta com o Senhor é um mesmo espírito.
18 Fle ye fornycacioun; al synne what euere synne a man doith, is with out the bodi; but he that doith fornycacioun, synneth ayens his bodi.
18 Fugi da prostituição. Todo pecado que o homem comete é fora do corpo; mas o que se prostitui peca contra o seu próprio corpo.
19 Whether ye witen not, that youre membris ben the temple of the Hooli Goost, that is in you, whom ye han of God, and ye ben not youre owne?
19 Ou não sabeis que o nosso corpo é o templo do Espírito Santo, que habita em vós, proveniente de Deus, e que não sois de vós mesmos?
20 For ye ben bouyt with greet prijs. Glorifie ye, and bere ye God in youre bodi.
20 Porque fostes comprados por bom preço; glorificai, pois, a Deus no vosso corpo e no vosso espírito, os quais pertencem a Deus.
