1 So a man gesse vs, as mynystris of Crist, and dispenderis of the mynysteries of God.
1 Assim, pois, importa que todos nos considerem como ministros de Cristo e encarregados dos mistérios de Deus.
2 Now it is souyt here among the dispenderis, that a man be foundun trewe.
2 Ora, além disso, o que se requer destes encarregados é que cada um deles seja encontrado fiel.
3 And to me it is for the leest thing, that Y be demyd of you, or of mannus dai; but nether Y deme my silf.
3 Mas a mim pouco importa ser julgado por vocês ou por um tribunal humano; nem eu julgo a mim mesmo.
4 For Y am no thing ouer trowynge to my silf, but not in this thing Y am iustified; for he that demeth me, is the Lord.
4 Porque a consciência não me acusa de nada. Mas nem por isso me dou por justificado, pois quem me julga é o Senhor.
5 Therfor nyle ye deme bifore the tyme, til that the Lord come, which schal liytne the hyd thingis of derknessis, and schal schewe the counseils of hertis; and thanne preisyng schal be to ech man of God.
5 Portanto, não julguem nada antes do tempo, até que venha o Senhor, o qual não somente trará à plena luz as coisas ocultas das trevas, mas também manifestará os desígnios dos corações. E então cada um receberá o seu louvor da parte de Deus.
6 And, britheren, Y haue transfigurid these thingis in to me and in to Apollo, for you; that in vs ye lerne, lest ouer that it is writun, oon ayens another be blowun with pride for another.
6 Meus irmãos, apliquei estas coisas figuradamente a mim mesmo e a Apolo, por causa de vocês, para que por nosso exemplo vocês aprendam isto: “Não ultrapassem o que está escrito”, para que ninguém se encha de orgulho a favor de um em prejuízo de outro.
7 Who demeth thee? And what hast thou, that thou hast not resseyued? And if thou hast resseyued, what gloriest thou, as thou haddist not resseyued?
7 Pois quem é que faz com que você sobressaia? E o que é que você tem que não tenha recebido? E, se o recebeu, por que se gloria, como se não o tivesse recebido?
8 Nowe ye ben fyllid, now ye ben maad riche; ye regnen with outen vs; and Y wolde that ye regnen, that also we regnen with you.
8 Vocês já estão fartos! Já são ricos! Chegaram a reinar sem nós! Sim, quem dera que vocês fossem reis, para que também nós viéssemos a reinar com vocês!
9 And Y gesse, that God schewide vs the laste apostlis, as thilke that ben sent to the deth; for we ben maad a spectacle to the world, and to aungels, and to men.
9 Porque me parece que Deus pôs a nós, os apóstolos, em último lugar, como se fôssemos condenados à morte. Porque nos tornamos espetáculo para o mundo, tanto para os anjos como para os seres humanos.
10 We foolis for Crist, but ye prudent in Crist; we sike, but ye stronge; ye noble, but we vnnoble.
10 Nós somos loucos por causa de Cristo, e vocês são sábios em Cristo. Nós somos fracos, e vocês são fortes; vocês são honrados, e nós somos desprezados.
11 Til in to this our we hungren, and thirsten, and ben nakid, and ben smytun with buffatis,
11 Até a presente hora, sofremos fome, sede e nudez; somos esbofeteados e não temos morada certa;
12 and we ben vnstable, and we trauelen worchynge with oure hondis; we ben cursid, and we blessen; we suffren persecucioun, and we abiden longe; we ben blasfemyd, and we bisechen;
12 e nos afadigamos, trabalhando com as nossas próprias mãos. Quando somos insultados, bendizemos; quando somos perseguidos, suportamos;
13 as clensyngis of this world we ben maad the `out castyng of alle thingis `til yit.
13 quando somos caluniados, procuramos conciliação. Até agora, temos chegado a ser considerados lixo do mundo, escória de todos.
14 Y write not these thingis, that Y confounde you, but Y warne as my moste dereworthe sones.
14 Não escrevo estas coisas para que vocês fiquem envergonhados; pelo contrário, para admoestá-los como a meus filhos amados.
15 For whi if ye han ten thousynde of vndur maistris in Crist, but not many fadris; for in Crist Jhesu Y haue gendrid you bi the gospel.
15 Porque, ainda que vocês tivessem milhares de instrutores em Cristo, não teriam muitos pais, pois eu gerei vocês em Cristo Jesus, pelo evangelho.
16 Therfor, britheren, Y preye you, be ye foleweris of me, as Y of Crist.
16 Portanto, eu peço a vocês que sejam meus imitadores.
17 Therfor Y sente to you Tymothe, which is my most dereworthe sone, and feithful in the Lord, which schal teche you my weies, that ben in Crist Jhesu; as Y teche euery where in ech chirche.
17 Por esta causa, eu enviei até vocês Timóteo, que é meu filho amado e fiel no Senhor, o qual fará com que vocês se lembrem dos meus caminhos em Cristo Jesus, como, por toda parte, ensino em cada igreja.
18 As thouy Y schulde not come to you, so summe ben blowun with pride;
18 Alguns de vocês se encheram de orgulho, como se eu não fosse mais visitá-los.
19 but Y schal come to you soone, if God wole; and Y schal knowe not the word of hem that ben blowun with pride, but the vertu.
19 Mas, em breve, se o Senhor quiser, irei visitá-los, e então conhecerei não a palavra, mas o poder desses orgulhosos.
20 For the rewme of God is not in word, but in vertu.
20 Porque o Reino de Deus consiste não em palavra, mas em poder.
21 What wole ye? Schal Y come to you in a yerde, or in charite, and in spirit of myldenesse?
21 O que vocês preferem? Que eu vá até aí com um chicote ou com amor e espírito de mansidão?
