1 But speke thou tho thingis that bisemen hoolsum teching;
1 Tu, porém, fala o que convém à sã doutrina.
2 that elde men be sobre, chast, prudent, hool in feith, in loue, and pacience;
2 Os velhos, que sejam sóbrios, graves, prudentes, sãos na fé, no amor, e na paciência;
3 also olde wymmen in hooli abite, not sclaundereris, not seruynge myche to wyn, wel techynge, that thei teche prudence.
3 As mulheres idosas, semelhantemente, que sejam sérias no seu viver, como convém a santas, não caluniadoras, não dadas a muito vinho, mestras no bem;
4 Moneste thou yonge wymmen, that thei loue here hosebondis, that thei loue her children;
4 Para que ensinem as mulheres novas a serem prudentes, a amarem seus maridos, a amarem seus filhos,
5 and that thei be prudent, chast, sobre, hauynge cure of the hous, benygne, suget to her hosebondis, that the word of God be not blasfemyd.
5 A serem moderadas, castas, boas donas de casa, sujeitas a seus maridos, a fim de que a palavra de Deus não seja blasfemada.
6 Also moneste thou yonge men, that thei be sobre.
6 Exorta semelhantemente os jovens a que sejam moderados.
7 In alle thingis yyue thi silf ensaumple of good werkis, in teching, in hoolnesse, in sadnesse.
7 Em tudo te dá por exemplo de boas obras; na doutrina mostra incorrupção, gravidade, sinceridade,
8 An hoolsum word, and vnrepreuable; that he that is of the contrarie side, be aschamed, hauynge noon yuel thing to seie of you.
8 Linguagem sã e irrepreensível, para que o adversário se envergonhe, não tendo nenhum mal que dizer de nós.
9 Moneste thou seruauntis to be suget to her lordis; in alle thingis plesinge, not ayenseiynge, not defraudynge,
9 Exorta os servos a que se sujeitem a seus senhores, e em tudo agradem, não contradizendo,
10 but in alle thingis schewinge good feith, that thei onoure in alle thingis the doctryn of `God, oure sauyour.
10 Não defraudando, antes mostrando toda a boa lealdade, para que em tudo sejam ornamento da doutrina de Deus, nosso Salvador.
11 For the grace of `God, oure sauyour,
11 Porque a graça salvadora de Deus se há manifestado a todos os homens,
12 hath apperid to alle men, and tauyte vs, that we forsake wickidnesse, and worldli desyris, lyue sobreli, and iustli, `and piteuousli in this world,
12 Ensinando-nos que, renunciando à impiedade e às concupiscências mundanas, vivamos neste presente século sóbria, e justa, e piamente,
13 abidinge the blessid hope and the comyng of the glorie of the greet God, and of oure sauyour Jhesu Crist;
13 Aguardando a bem-aventurada esperança e o aparecimento da glória do grande Deus e nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo;
14 that yaf hym silf for vs, to ayenbie vs fro al wickidnesse, and make clene to hym silf a puple acceptable, and suere of good werkis.
14 O qual se deu a si mesmo por nós para nos remir de toda a iniqüidade, e purificar para si um povo seu especial, zeloso de boas obras.
15 Speke thou these thingis, and moneste thou, and repreue thou with al comaundement; no man dispise thee.
15 Fala disto, e exorta e repreende com toda a autoridade. Ninguém te despreze.
