1 Wo to the citee of bloodis, al of leesyng, ful of to-reendyng; raueyn shal not go awei fro thee.
1 Ai da cidade ensanguentada! Ela está cheia de mentiras e roubos, e não se aparta dela a presa.
2 Vois of scourge, and vois of bire of wheel, and of hors makynge noise, and of foure horsid carte brennynge, and of kniyt stiynge vp,
2 O estalo de um açoite, o barulho do ruído das rodas, do galopar dos cavalos, e as carruagens que saltam.
3 and of schynynge swerd, and glesenynge spere, and of slayn multitude, and of greuouse fallyng, nether ther is eende of careyns. And thei schulen falle togidere in her bodies,
3 O cavaleiro levanta a espada reluzente e a lança cintilante; e há uma multidão de mortos, e um grande número de cadáveres; e não terão fim os seus defuntos; tropeçarão nos seus corpos;
4 for the multitude of fornicaciouns of the hoore fair and plesaunt, and hauynge witchecraftis; which seelde folkis in her fornicaciouns, and meynees in her enchauntementis, ether sorceries.
4 Por causa da multidão das prostituições da prostituta formosa, a amante das feitiçarias, que vendeu nações através das suas prostituições, e famílias pelas suas feitiçarias.
5 Lo! Y to thee, seith the Lord God of oostis; and Y schal schewe thi schameful thingis in thi face; and Y schal schewe to folkis thi nakidnesse, and to rewmes thin yuel fame.
5 Eis que estou contra ti, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, e levantarei a tua saia sobre a tua face, e mostrarei às nações a tua nudez, e aos reinos a tua vergonha.
6 And Y schal cast out on thee thin abhomynaciouns, and Y schal punysche thee with dispitis, and Y schal putte thee in to ensaumple.
6 E lançarei sobre ti, abominável imundície, e farei de ti vil, e te colocarei como espetáculo.
7 And it schal be, ech man that schal se thee, schal skippe awei fro thee, and schal seie, Nynyue is distried. Who schal moue heed on thee? wherof schal Y seke to thee a coumfortour?
7 E acontecerá que todos os que te virem fugirão de ti, e dirão: Nínive está destruída; quem a lamentará? Onde eu procurarei consoladores por ti?
8 Whether thou art betere than Alisaundre of puplis, that dwellith in floodis? Watris ben in cumpas therof, whos richessis is the see, watris ben wallis therof.
8 És tu melhor do que Nô-Amom, que estava situada entre os rios, que tinha as águas ao seu redor, tendo por esplanada o mar, e ainda o mar por muralha?
9 Ethiope is strengthe therof, and Egipt, and there is noon ende; Affrik and Libie weren in help therof.
9 Etiópia e Egito eram a sua força, e era infinita; Pute e Líbia foram o teu socorro.

10 Todavia foi levada em cativeiro; seus jovens filhos também foram despedaçados nas esquinas de todas as ruas; e lançaram sorte sobre os seus homens nobres, e todos os seus grandes homens foram acorrentados.
11 And thou therfor schalt be drunkun, and schalt be dispisid, and thou schalt seke helpe of enemye.
11 Tu também serás embriagada, e te esconderás; também buscarás força por causa do inimigo.
12 Al thi strengthis as a fige tree, with hise figis vnripe; if thei schulen be schakun, thei schulen falle in to the mouth of the etere.
12 Todas as tuas fortalezas serão como figueiras com figos temporãos; se os sacodem, caem na boca do que os há de comer.
13 Lo! thi puple ben wymmen in the myddil of thee; the yatis of thi lond schulen be schewid to openyng to thin enemyes; fier schal deuoure thin herris.
13 Eis que o teu povo no meio de ti é como mulheres; as portas da tua terra estarão de todo abertas aos teus inimigos; o fogo devorará os teus ferrolhos.
14 Drawe vp to thee water for asegyng, bilde thi strengthis; entre in fen, and trede, thou vndurgoynge holde a tiel stoon.
14 Recolhe tuas águas para o cerco, fortifica as tuas fortalezas; entra no lodo e pisa o barro, faça forte os tijolos.
15 There fier schal ete thee, thou schalt perische bi swerd, it schal deuoure thee, as bruke doith; be thou gaderid togidere as a bruke, be thou multiplied as a locuste.
15 O fogo te devorará, a espada te exterminará; ela te consumirá como a lagarta verde. Multiplica-te como a lagarta verde, multiplica-te como as locustas.
16 Thou madist thi marchaundises mo than ben sterris of heuene; a bruke is spred abrood, and flei awei.
16 Multiplicaste os teus comerciantes mais do que as estrelas do céu; a locusta se espalhará e voará para longe.
17 Thi keperis ben as locustis, and thi litle children ben as locustis of locustis, whiche sitten togidere in heggis in the dai of coold; the sun is risun, and thei fledden awei, and the place of hem is not knowun, where thei weren.
17 Os teus coroados são como as locustas, e os teus capitães como os gafanhotos grandes, que se acampam nas sebes nos dias de frio, mas quando o sol nasce, fogem para longe, e não se sabe mais o lugar onde estão.
18 Thi scheepherdis napten, thou kyng Assur, thi princes schulen be biried; thi puple ofte was hid in hillis, and ther is not that schal gadere.
18 Os teus pastores dormem, ó rei da Assíria, e os teus nobres habitarão no pó; o teu povo se espalha pelos montes, e não há homem para reuni-los.
19 Thi sorewe is not priuy, thi wounde is worst; alle men that herden thin heryng, pressiden togidere hond on thee, for on whom passide not thi malice euermore?
19 Não há cura para a tua chaga, o teu ferimento é doloroso. Todos os que ouvirem a tua fama baterão palmas sobre ti; pois sobre quem não passou continuamente a tua maldade?
