1 And Jhesus wente vp in to a boot, and passide ouer the watir, and cam in to his citee.
1 E entrando Jesus num barco, passou para o outro lado, e chegou à sua própria cidade.
2 And lo! thei brouyten to hym a man sike in palesie, liggynge in a bed. And Jhesus saw the feith of hem, and seide to the man sike in palesye, Sone, haue thou trist; thi synnes ben foryouun to thee.
2 E eis que lhe trouxeram um paralítico deitado num leito. Jesus, pois, vendo-lhes a fé, disse ao paralítico: Tem ânimo, filho; perdoados são os teus pecados.
3 And lo! summe of the scribis seiden withynne hem silf, This blasfemeth.
3 E alguns dos escribas disseram consigo: Este homem blasfema.
4 And whanne Jhesus hadde seyn her thouytis, he seide, Wherto thenken ye yuele thingis in youre hertis?
4 Mas Jesus, conhecendo-lhes os pensamentos, disse: Por que pensais o mal em vossos corações?
5 What is liytere to seye, Thi synnes ben foryouun to thee, ethir `to seie, Rise thou, and walke?
5 Pois qual é mais fácil? dizer: Perdoados são os teus pecados, ou dizer: Levanta-te e anda?
6 But that ye wite that mannus sone hath power to foryyue synnes in erthe, thanne he seide to the sijk man in palesie, Rise vp; take thi bed, and go in to thin hous.
6 Ora, para que saibais que o Filho do homem tem sobre a terra autoridade para perdoar pecados {disse então ao paralítico}: Levanta-te, toma o teu leito, e vai para tua casa.
7 And he roos, and wente in to his hous.
7 E este, levantando-se, foi para sua casa.
8 And the puple seynge dredde, and glorifiede God, that yaf suche power to men.
8 E as multidões, vendo isso, temeram, e glorificaram a Deus, que dera tal autoridade aos homens.
9 And whanne Jhesus passide fro thennus, he say a man, Matheu bi name, sittynge in a tolbothe. And he seide to hym, Sue thou me.
9 Partindo Jesus dali, viu sentado na coletoria um homem chamado Mateus, e disse-lhe: Segue-me. E ele, levantando-se, o seguiu.
10 And he roos, and folewide hym. And it was don, the while he sat `at the mete in the hous, lo! many pupplicans and synful men camen, and saten `at the mete with Jhesu and hise disciplis.
10 Ora, estando ele à mesa em casa, eis que chegaram muitos publicanos e pecadores, e se reclinaram à mesa juntamente com Jesus e seus discípulos.
11 And Farisees sien, and seiden to hise disciplis, Whi etith youre maister with pupplicans and synful men?
11 E os fariseus, vendo isso, perguntavam aos discípulos: Por que come o vosso Mestre com publicanos e pecadores?
12 And Jhesus herde, and seide, A leche is not nedeful to men that faren wel, but to men that ben yuel at ese.
12 Jesus, porém, ouvindo isso, respondeu: Não necessitam de médico os sãos, mas sim os enfermos.
13 But go ye, and lerne what it is, Y wole merci, and not sacrifice; for I cam, not to clepe riytful men, but synful men.
13 Ide, pois, e aprendei o que significa: Misericórdia quero, e não sacrifícios. Porque eu não vim chamar justos, mas pecadores.
14 Thanne the disciplis of Joon camen to hym, and seiden, Whi we and Farisees fasten ofte, but thi disciplis fasten not?
14 Então vieram ter com ele os discípulos de João, perguntando: Por que é que nós e os fariseus jejuamos, mas os teus discípulos não jejuam?
15 And Jhesus seide to hem, Whether the sones of the spouse moun morne, as long as the spouse is with hem? But daies schulen come, whanne the spouse schal be takun a wei fro hem, and thanne thei schulen faste.
15 Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Podem porventura ficar tristes os convidados às núpcias, enquanto o noivo está com eles? Dias virão, porém, em que lhes será tirado o noivo, e então hão de jejuar.
16 And no man putteth a clout of buystous clothe in to an elde clothing; for it doith awey the fulnesse of the cloth, and a wers breking is maad.
16 Ninguém põe remendo de pano novo em vestido velho; porque semelhante remendo tira parte do vestido, e faz-se maior a rotura.
17 Nethir men putten newe wyne in to elde botelis, ellis the botels ben to-broke, and distried, and the wyn sched out. But men putten newe wyne in to newe botels, and bothe ben kept.
17 Nem se deita vinho novo em odres velhos; do contrário se rebentam, derrama-se o vinho, e os odres se perdem; mas deita-se vinho novo em odres novos, e assim ambos se conservam.
18 Whiles that Jhesus spak thes thingis to hem, lo! a prince cam, and worschipide hym, and seide, Lord, my douyter is now deed; but come thou, and putte thin hond on hir, and she schal lyue.
18 Enquanto ainda lhes dizia essas coisas, eis que chegou um chefe da sinagoga e o adorou, dizendo: Minha filha acaba de falecer; mas vem, impõe-lhe a tua mão, e ela viverá.
19 And Jhesus roos, and `hise disciplis, and sueden hym.
19 Levantou-se, pois, Jesus, e o foi seguindo, ele e os seus discípulos.
20 And lo! a womman, that hadde the blodi flux twelue yere, neiyede bihynde, and touchide the hem of his cloth.
20 E eis que certa mulher, que havia doze anos padecia de uma hemorragia, chegou por detrás dele e tocou-lhe a orla do manto;
21 For sche seide with ynne hir self, Yif Y touche oonli the cloth of hym, Y schal be saaf.
21 porque dizia consigo: Se eu tão-somente tocar-lhe o manto, ficarei sã.
22 And Jhesus turnede, and say hir, and seide, Douytir, haue thou trist; thi feith hath maad thee saaf. And the womman was hool fro that our.
22 Mas Jesus, voltando-se e vendo-a, disse: Tem ânimo, filha, a tua fé te salvou. E desde aquela hora a mulher ficou sã.
23 And whanne Jhesus cam in to the hous of the prince, and say mynstrallis, and the puple makynge noise,
23 Quando Jesus chegou à casa daquele chefe, e viu os tocadores de flauta e a multidão em alvoroço,
24 he seide, Go ye a wei, for the damysel is not deed, but slepith. And thei scornyden hym.
24 disse; Retirai-vos; porque a menina não está morta, mas dorme. E riam-se dele.
25 And whanne the folc was put out, he wente in, and helde hir hond; and the damysel roos.
25 Tendo-se feito sair o povo, entrou Jesus, tomou a menina pela mão, e ela se levantou.
26 And this fame wente out in to al that loond.
26 E espalhou-se a notícia disso por toda aquela terra.
27 And whanne Jhesus passide fro thennus, twei blynde men criynge sueden hym, and seiden, Thou sone of Dauid, haue merci on vs.
27 Partindo Jesus dali, seguiram-no dois cegos, que clamavam, dizendo: Tem compaixão de nós, Filho de Davi.
28 And whanne he cam in to the hous, the blynde men camen to hym; and Jhesus seide to hem, What wolen ye, that I do to you? And thei seiden, Lord, that oure iyen be opened. And Jhesus seide, Bileuen ye, that Y mai do this thing to you? Thei seien to him, Yhe, Lord.
28 E, tendo ele entrado em casa, os cegos se aproximaram dele; e Jesus perguntou-lhes: Credes que eu posso fazer isto? Responderam-lhe eles: Sim, Senhor.
29 Thanne he touchide her iyen, and seide, Aftir youre feith be it doon to you.
29 Então lhes tocou os olhos, dizendo: Seja-vos feito segundo a vossa fé.
30 And the iyen of hem were opened. And Jhesus thretenede hem, and seide, Se ye, that no man wite.
30 E os olhos se lhes abriram. Jesus ordenou-lhes terminantemente, dizendo: Vede que ninguém o saiba.
31 But thei yeden out, and diffameden hym thorou al that lond.
31 Eles, porém, saíram, e divulgaram a sua fama por toda aquela terra.
32 And whanne thei weren gon out, loo! thei brouyten to hym a doumbe man, hauynge a deuel.
32 Enquanto esses se retiravam, eis que lhe trouxeram um homem mudo e endemoninhado.
33 And whanne the deuel was cast out, the doumb man spak. And the puple wondride, and seide, It hath not be say thus in Israel.
33 E, expulso o demônio, falou o mudo e as multidões se admiraram, dizendo: Nunca tal se viu em Israel.
34 But the Farisees seiden, In the prince of deuelis he castith out deuelis.
34 Os fariseus, porém, diziam: É pelo príncipe dos demônios que ele expulsa os demônios.
35 And Jhesus wente `aboute alle the `citees and castels, techinge in the synagogis of hem, and prechynge the gospel of the kyngdom, and helynge euery langour and euery sijknesse.
35 E percorria Jesus todas as cidades e aldeias, ensinando nas sinagogas, pregando o evangelho do reino, e curando toda sorte de doenças e enfermidades.
36 And he siy the puple, and hadde reuthe on hem; for thei weren trauelid, and liggynge as scheep not hauynge a scheepherde.
36 Vendo ele as multidões, compadeceu-se delas, porque andavam desgarradas e errantes, como ovelhas que não têm pastor.
37 Thanne he seide to hise disciplis, Sotheli there is myche ripe corn, but fewe werk men.
37 Então disse a seus discípulos: Na verdade, a seara é grande, mas os trabalhadores são poucos.
38 Therfor preye ye the lord of the ripe corn, that he sende werke men in to his ripe corn.
38 Rogai, pois, ao Senhor da seara que mande trabalhadores para a sua seara.
