1 In that our the disciplis camen to Jhesu, and seiden, Who, gessist thou, is gretter in the kyngdom of heuenes?
1 Nessa ocasião, os discípulos vieram a Jesus e perguntaram: “Afinal, quem é o maior no reino dos céus?”.
2 And Jhesus clepide a litil child, and putte hym in the myddil of hem;
2 Então Jesus chamou uma criança pequena e a colocou no meio deles.
3 and seide, Y seie treuthe to you, but ye be turned, and maad as litle children, ye schulen not entre in to the kyngdom of heuenes.
3 Em seguida, disse: “Eu lhes digo a verdade: a menos que vocês se convertam e se tornem como crianças, jamais entrarão no reino dos céus.
4 Therfor who euer mekith hym as this litil child, he is gretter in the kyngdom of heuenes.
4 Quem se torna humilde como esta criança é o maior no reino dos céus,
5 And he that resseyueth o siche litil child in my name, resseyueth me.
5 e quem recebe uma criança como esta em meu nome recebe a mim.”
6 But who so sclaundrith oon of these smale, that bileuen in me, it spedith to hym that a mylnstoon `of assis be hangid in his necke, and he be drenchid in the depnesse of the see.
6 “Mas, se alguém fizer cair em pecado um destes pequeninos que em mim confiam, teria sido melhor ter amarrado uma grande pedra de moinho ao pescoço e se afogado nas profundezas do mar.
7 Woo to the world, for sclaundris; for it is nede that sclaundris come; netheles wo to thilke man bi whom a sclaundre cometh.
7 “Quanto sofrimento haverá no mundo por causa das tentações para o pecado! Ainda que elas sejam inevitáveis, aquele que as provoca terá sofrimento ainda maior.
8 And if thin hoond or thi foot sclaundreth thee, kitte it of, and caste awei fro thee. It is betere to thee to entre to lijf feble, ethir crokid, than hauynge tweyne hoondis or twey feet to be sent in to euerlastynge fier.
8 Portanto, se sua mão ou seu pé o faz pecar, corte-o e jogue-o fora. É melhor entrar na vida eterna com apenas uma das mãos ou apenas um dos pés que ser lançado no fogo eterno com as duas mãos e os dois pés.
9 And if thin iye sclaundre thee, pulle it out, and caste awei fro thee. It is betere to thee with oon iye to entre in to lijf, thanne hauynge tweyn iyen to be sent in to the fier of helle.
9 E, se seu olho o faz pecar, arranque-o e jogue-o fora. É melhor entrar na vida eterna com apenas um dos olhos que ser lançado no inferno de fogo com os dois olhos.
10 Se ye, that ye dispise not oon of these litle. For Y seie to you, that the aungels of hem in heuenes seen euermore the face of my fadir that is in heuenes.
10 “Tomem cuidado para não desprezar nenhum destes pequeninos. Pois eu lhes digo que, no céu, os anjos deles estão sempre na presença de meu Pai celestial.
11 For mannus sone cam to saue that thing that perischide.
11 E o Filho do Homem veio para salvar os que estão perdidos.”
12 What semeth to you? If ther weren to sum man an hundrid scheep, and oon of hem hath errid, whethir he schal not leeue nynti and nyne in desert, and schal go to seche that that erride?
12 “Se um homem tiver cem ovelhas e uma delas se perder, o que vocês acham que ele fará? Não deixará as outras noventa e nove nos montes e sairá à procura da perdida?
13 And if it falle that he fynde it, treuli Y seie to you, that he schal haue ioye theron more than on nynti and nyne that erriden not.
13 E, se a encontrar, eu lhes digo a verdade: ele se alegrará por causa dela mais que pelas noventa e nove que não se perderam.
14 So it is not the wille bifor youre fadir that is in heuenes, that oon of these litle perische.
14 Da mesma forma, não é da vontade de meu Pai, no céu, que nenhum destes pequeninos se perca.”
15 But if thi brother synneth ayens thee, go thou, and repreue hym, bitwixe thee and hym aloone; if he herith thee, thou hast wonnun thi brother.
15 “Se um irmão pecar contra você, fale com ele em particular e chame-lhe a atenção para o erro. Se ele o ouvir, você terá recuperado seu irmão.
16 And if he herith thee not, take with thee oon or tweyne, that euery word stonde in the mouth of tweyne or thre witnessis.
16 Mas, se ele não o ouvir, leve consigo um ou dois outros e fale com ele novamente, para que tudo que você disser seja confirmado por duas ou três testemunhas.
17 And if he herith not hem, seie thou to the chirche. But if he herith not the chirche, be he as an hethen and a pupplican to thee.
17 Se ainda assim ele se recusar a ouvir, apresente o caso à igreja. Então, se ele não aceitar nem mesmo a decisão da igreja, trate-o como gentio ou como cobrador de impostos.
18 Y seie to you treuli, what euer thingis ye bynden on erthe, tho schulen be boundun also in heuene; and what euer thingis ye vnbynden on erthe, tho schulen be vnboundun also in heuene.
18 “Eu lhes digo a verdade: o que vocês ligarem na terra terá sido ligado no céu, e o que desligarem na terra terá sido desligado no céu.
19 Eftsoone Y seie to you, that if tweyne of you consenten on the erthe, of euery thing what euer thei axen, it schal be don to hem of my fadir that is in heuenes.
19 “Também lhes digo que, se dois de vocês concordarem aqui na terra a respeito de qualquer coisa que pedirem, meu Pai, no céu, os atenderá.
20 For where tweyne or thre ben gaderid in my name, there Y am in the myddil of hem.
20 Pois, onde dois ou três se reúnem em meu nome, eu estou no meio deles”.
21 Thanne Petre cam to hym, and seide, Lord, how ofte schal my brother synne ayens me, and Y schal foryyue hym?
21 Então Pedro se aproximou de Jesus e perguntou: “Senhor, quantas vezes devo perdoar alguém que peca contra mim? Sete vezes?”.
22 Whether til seuen tymes? Jhesus seith to hym, Y seie not to thee, til seuene sithis; but til seuenti sithis seuene sithis.
22 Jesus respondeu: “Não sete vezes, mas setenta vezes sete.
23 Therfor the kyngdom of heuenes is licned to a kyng, that wolde rekyn with hise seruauntis.
23 “Portanto, o reino dos céus pode ser comparado a um senhor que decidiu pôr em dia as contas com os servos que lhe deviam.
24 And whanne he bigan to rekene, oon that ouyte ten thousynde talentis, was brouyt to hym.
24 No decorrer do processo, trouxeram diante dele um servo que lhe devia sessenta milhões de moedas.
25 And whanne he hadde not wherof to yelde, his lord comaundide hym to be seld, and his wijf, and children, and alle thingis that he hadde, and to be paied.
25 Uma vez que o homem não tinha como pagar, o senhor ordenou que ele, sua esposa, seus filhos e todos os seus bens fossem vendidos para quitar a dívida.
26 But thilke seruaunt felde doun, and preiede hym, and seide, Haue pacience in me, and Y schal yelde to thee alle thingis.
26 “O homem se curvou diante do senhor e suplicou: ‘Por favor, tenha paciência comigo, e eu pagarei tudo’.
27 And the lord hadde merci on that seruaunt, and suffride hym to go, and foryaf to hym the dette.
27 O senhor teve compaixão dele, soltou-o e perdoou-lhe a dívida.
28 But thilke seruaunt yede out, and foonde oon of his euen seruauntis, that ouyte hym an hundrid pens; and he helde hym, and stranglide hym, and seide, Yelde that that thou owest.
28 “No entanto, quando o servo saiu da presença do senhor, foi procurar outro servo que trabalhava com ele e que lhe devia cem moedas de prata. Agarrou-o pelo pescoço e exigiu que ele pagasse de imediato.
29 And his euen seruaunt felle doun, and preyede hym, and seide, Haue pacience in me, and Y schal quyte alle thingis to thee.
29 “O servo se curvou diante dele e suplicou: ‘Tenha paciência comigo, e eu pagarei tudo’.
30 But he wolde not; but wente out, and putte hym in to prisoun, til he paiede al the dette.
30 O credor, porém, não estava disposto a esperar. Mandou que o homem fosse lançado na prisão até que tivesse pago toda a dívida.
31 And hise euen seruauntis, seynge the thingis that weren don, soreweden greetli. And thei camen, and telden to her lord alle the thingis that weren don.
31 “Quando outros servos, companheiros dele, viram isso, ficaram muito tristes. Foram ao senhor e lhe contaram tudo que havia acontecido.
32 Thanne his lord clepide hym, and seide to hym, Wickid seruaunt, Y foryaf to thee al the dette, for thou preiedist me.
32 Então o senhor chamou o homem cuja dívida ele havia perdoado e disse: ‘Servo mau! Eu perdoei sua imensa dívida porque você me implorou.
33 Therfor whether it bihouede not also thee to haue merci on thin euen seruaunt, as Y hadde merci on thee?
33 Acaso não devia ter misericórdia de seu companheiro, como tive misericórdia de você?’.
34 And his lord was wroth, and took hym to turmentouris, til he paiede al the dette.
34 E, irado, o senhor mandou o homem à prisão para ser torturado até que lhe pagasse toda a dívida.
35 So my fadir of heuene schal do to you, if ye foryyuen not euery man to his brother, of youre hertes.
35 “Assim também meu Pai celestial fará com vocês caso se recusem a perdoar de coração a seus irmãos”.
