1 And aftir sixe daies Jhesus took Petre, and James, and Joon, and ledde hem bi hem silf aloone in to an hiy hille; and he was transfigurid bifor hem.
1 E ele disse-lhes: Na verdade eu vos digo, que alguns dos que aqui estão não provarão a morte até que vejam o reino de Deus vindo com poder.
2 And hise clothis weren maad ful schynynge and white as snow, whiche maner white clothis a fuller may not make on erthe.
2 E seis dias depois Jesus tomou consigo a Pedro, a Tiago, e a João, e os conduziu à parte a um alto monte; e transfigurou-se diante deles.
3 And Helie with Moises apperide to hem, and thei spaken with Jhesu.
3 E as suas vestes tornaram-se resplandecentes, extremamente brancas como a neve, tais como nenhum lavadeiro sobre a terra as poderia branquear.
4 And Petre answeride, and seide to Jhesu, Maister, it is good vs to be here; and make we here thre tabernaclis, oon to thee, oon to Moyses, and oon to Helie.
4 E ali apareceu-lhes Elias, com Moisés; e eles falavam com Jesus.
5 For he wiste not what he schulde seie; for thei weren agaste bi drede.
5 E Pedro, respondendo, disse a Jesus: Mestre, é bom estarmos aqui; deixa-nos fazer aqui três tabernáculos, um para ti, um para Moisés, e um para Elias.
6 And ther was maad a cloude overschadewynge hem; and a vois cam of the cloude, and seide, This is my moost derworth sone, here ye hym.
6 Porque ele não sabia o que dizer, pois eles estavam grandemente atemorizados.
7 And anoon thei bihelden aboute, and sayn no more ony man, but Jhesu oonli with hem.
7 E formou-se uma nuvem que os cobriu, e dela saiu uma voz que dizia: Este é o meu Filho amado; a ele ouvi.
8 And whanne thei camen doun fro the hille, he comaundide hem, that thei schulden not telle to ony man tho thingis that thei hadden seen, but whanne mannus sone hath risun ayen fro deeth.
8 E de repente, eles olhando ao redor, não viram mais nenhum homem, senão só a Jesus.
9 And thei helden the word at hem silf, sekynge what this schulde be, whanne he hadde risun ayen fro deth.
9 E, enquanto eles desciam do monte, ele ordenou-lhes que a nenhum homem contassem as coisas que tinham visto, até que o Filho do homem ressuscitasse dentre os mortos.
10 And thei axiden hym, and seiden, What thanne seien Farisees and scribis, for it bihoueth `Helie to come first.
10 E eles guardaram o que foi dito entre si, perguntando uns aos outros o que significava ressuscitar dentre os mortos.
11 And he answeride, and seide to hem, Whanne Helie cometh, he schal first restore alle thingis; and as it is writun of mannus sone, that he suffre many thingis, and be dispisid.
11 E eles o perguntam, dizendo: Por que dizem os escribas que Elias deveria vir primeiro?
12 And Y seie to you, that Helie is comun, and thei diden to hym what euer thingis thei wolden, as it is writun of hym.
12 E, respondendo ele, disse-lhes: Na verdade Elias virá primeiro, e restaurará todas as coisas; e, como está escrito do Filho do homem, que ele deve sofrer muitas coisas, e ser reduzido a nada.
13 And he comynge to hise disciplis, saiy a greet cumpany aboute hem, and scribis disputynge with hem.
13 Mas eu vos digo que Elias já veio, e eles fizeram-lhe tudo o que quiseram, como está escrito sobre ele.
14 And anoon al the puple seynge Jhesu, was astonyed, and thei dredden; and thei rennynge gretten hym.
14 E, ele aproximando-se dos seus discípulos, viu ao redor deles uma grande multidão, e os escribas interrogando a eles.
15 And he axide hem, What disputen ye among you?
15 E imediatamente toda a multidão, vendo-o, ficou grandemente surpreendida, e, correndo para ele, o saudaram.
16 And oon of the cumpany answerde, and seide, Mayster, Y haue brouyt to thee my sone, that hath a doumbe spirit; and where euer he takith hym,
16 E ele perguntou aos escribas: O que interrogas com eles?
17 he hurtlith hym doun, and he fometh, and betith togidir with teeth, and wexith drye. And Y seide to thi disciplis, that thei schulden caste hym out, and thei myyten not.
17 E um da multidão, respondendo, disse: Mestre, trouxe-te o meu filho, que tem um espírito mudo;
18 And he answeride to hem, and seide, A! thou generacioun out of bileue, hou longe schal Y be among you, hou longe schal Y suffre you? Brynge ye hym to me.
18 e este, onde quer que o apanhe, derruba-o; e ele espuma, e range os dentes, e vai definhando; e eu disse aos teus discípulos que o expulsassem, mas eles não puderam.
19 And thei brouyten hym. And whanne he had seyn him, anoon the spirit troublide him; and was throw doun to grounde, and walewide, and fomede.
19 E ele, respondendo-lhes, disse: Ó geração sem fé! Até quando hei de estar convosco? Até quando vos suportarei? Trazei-o a mim!
20 And he axide his fadir, Hou longe `is it, sith this `hath falle to hym? And he seide, Fro childhode;
20 E eles o trouxeram até ele; e vendo-o, o espírito imediatamente o convulsionou; e ele caiu no chão, e revolvia-se, espumando.
21 and ofte he hath put hym in to fier, and in to watir, to leese hym; but if thou maiste ony thing, helpe vs, and haue merci on vs.
21 E perguntou ao seu pai: Há quanto tempo isto veio a ele? E ele disse: Desde criança.
22 And Jhesus seide to hym, If thou maiste bileue, alle thingis ben possible to man that bileueth.
22 E muitas vezes isto o tem lançado no fogo, e dentro da água, para o destruir; mas, se tu podes fazer alguma coisa, tem compaixão de nós, e ajuda-nos.
23 And anoon the fadir of the child criede with teeris, and seide, Lord, Y bileue; Lord, helpe thou myn vnbileue.
23 E Jesus disse-lhe: Se tu podes crer, todas as coisas são possíveis ao que crê.
24 And whanne Jhesus hadde seyn the puple rennynge togidere, he manasside the vnclene spirit, and seide to hym, Thou deef and doumbe spirit, Y comaunde thee, go out fro hym, and entre no more in to hym.
24 E imediatamente o pai do menino exclamou e disse em lágrimas: Senhor, eu creio! Ajude a minha incredulidade.
25 And he criynge, and myche to breidynge him, wente out fro hym; and he was maad as deed, so that many seiden, that he was deed.
25 Quando Jesus viu que as pessoas vinham correndo juntas, ele repreendeu o espírito imundo, dizendo-lhe: Tu, espírito mudo e surdo, eu te ordeno: sai dele, e não entres mais nele.
26 And Jhesus helde his hoond, and lifte hym vp; and he roos.
26 E o espírito gritou, e agitando-o com violência, saiu dele; e ele estava como um morto, de modo que muitos diziam: Ele está morto.
27 And whanne he hadde entrid in to an hous, hise disciplis axiden hym priueli, Whi myyten not we caste hym out?
27 Mas Jesus, tomando-o pela mão, o ergueu; e ele se levantou.
28 And he seide to hem, This kynde in no thing may go out, but in preier and fastyng.
28 E, quando ele entrou em casa, os seus discípulos lhe perguntaram em particular: Por que nós não pudemos expulsá-lo?
29 And thei yeden fro thennus, and wente forth in to Galile; and thei wolden not, that ony man wiste.
29 E ele disse-lhes: Este tipo não sai de modo algum, senão pela oração e pelo jejum.
30 And he tauyte hise disciplis, and seide to hem, For mannus sone schal be bitrayed in to the hondis of men, and thei schulen sle hym, and he slayn schal ryse ayen on the thridde day.
30 E, tendo partido dali, passavam pela Galileia, e não queria que nenhum homem soubesse isto.
31 And thei knewen not the word, and dredden to axe hym.
31 Pois ele ensinava aos seus discípulos, e lhes dizia: O Filho do homem será entregue nas mãos dos homens, e matá-lo-ão; e, após ser morto, ele será ressuscitado ao terceiro dia.
32 And thei camen to Cafarnaum. And whanne thei weren in the hous, he axide hem, What tretiden ye in the weie?
32 Mas eles não entenderam este discurso, e tinham medo de interrogá-lo.
33 And thei weren stille; for thei disputiden among hem in the weie, who of hem schulde be grettest.
33 E ele chegou a Cafarnaum; e, estando na casa, perguntou-lhes: O que discutíeis entre vós pelo caminho?
34 And he sat, and clepide the twelue, and seide to hem, If ony man wole be the firste among you, he schal be the laste of alle, and the mynyster of alle.
34 Mas eles calaram-se; porque pelo caminho haviam discutido entre si qual deles seria o maior.
35 And he took a child, and sette hym in the myddil of hem; and whanne he hadde biclippid hym, he seide to hem,
35 E ele assentou-se, e chamando os doze, disse-lhes: Se algum homem deseja ser o primeiro, este será o último de todos, e o servo de todos.
36 Who euer resseyueth oon of such children in my name, he resseyueth me; and who euer resseyueth me, he resseyueth not me aloone, but hym that sente me.
36 E ele tomou uma criança, e a colocou no meio deles; e, tomando-a nos seus braços, disse-lhes:
37 Joon answeride to hym, and seide, Maister, we sayn oon castynge out feendis in thi name, which sueth not vs, and we han forbodun hym.
37 Qualquer que receber uma destas crianças em meu nome, recebe a mim; e qualquer que me receber, não recebe a mim, mas àquele que me enviou.
38 And Jhesus seide, Nyle ye forbede him; for ther is no man that doith vertu in my name, and may soone speke yuel of me.
38 E João lhe respondeu, dizendo: Mestre, nós vimos um que expulsava demônios em teu nome, mas ele não nos segue; e nós o proibimos, porque ele não nos segue.
39 He that is not ayens vs, is for vs.
39 Jesus, porém, disse: Não lho proibais; porque não há homem que faça milagre em meu nome, e possa logo falar mal de mim.
40 And who euer yyueth you a cuppe of coold water to drynke in my name, for ye ben of Crist, treuli Y seie to you, he schal not leese his mede.
40 Porque quem não é contra nós, é por nós.
41 And who euer schal sclaundre oon of these litle that bileuen in me, it were betere to hym that a mylne stoon `of assis were don aboute his necke, and he were cast in to the see.
41 Porquanto, todo aquele que vos der de beber um copo de água em meu nome, porque sois de Cristo, na verdade eu vos digo que ele não perderá a sua recompensa.
42 And if thin hoond sclaundre thee, kitte it awey; it is betere to thee to entre feble in to lijf, than haue two hondis, and go in to helle, in to fier that neuer schal be quenchid,
42 E qualquer que escandalizar um destes pequeninos que creem em mim, melhor lhe fora que se lhe pendurasse ao pescoço uma pedra de moinho, e que ele fosse lançado no mar.
43 where the worm of hem dieth not, and the fier is not quenchid.
43 E, se a tua mão te ofender, corta-a; melhor é entrares na vida mutilado do que, tendo duas mãos, ires para o inferno, para o fogo que nunca se apaga;
44 And if thi foote sclaundre thee, kitte it of; it is betere to thee to entre crokid in to euerlastynge lijf, than haue twei feet, and be sent in to helle of fier, that neuer schal be quenchid,
44 onde o seu verme não morre, e o fogo não se apaga.
45 where the worme of hem dieth not, and the fier is not quenchid.
45 E, se o teu pé te ofender, corta-o; melhor te é entrar na vida coxo do que, tendo dois pés, ires para o inferno, para o fogo que nunca se apaga;
46 That if thin iye sclaundre thee, cast it out; it is betere to thee to entre gogil iyed in to the reume of God, than haue twey iyen, and be sent in to helle of fier, where the worme of hem dieth not,
46 onde o seu verme não morre, e o fogo não se apaga.
47 and the fier is not quenchid.
47 E, se o teu olho te ofender, arranca-o; melhor é entrares no reino de Deus com um só olho, do que, tendo dois olhos, seres lançado no fogo do inferno;
48 And euery man schal be saltid with fier, and euery slayn sacrifice schal be maad sauery with salt.
48 onde o seu verme não morre, e o fogo não se apaga.
49 Salt is good; if salt be vnsauery, in what thing schulen ye make it sauery? Haue ye salt among you, and haue ye pees among you.
49 Porque cada um será salgado com fogo, e cada sacrifício será salgado com sal.
50 — ausente —
50 Sal é bom; mas, se o sal se tornar insípido, com que o temperareis? Tende sal em vós mesmos, e paz uns com os outros.
