1 And thei camen ouer the see in to the cuntree of Gerasenes.
1 Eles atravessaram o mar e foram para a região dos gerasenos.
2 And aftir that he was goon out of the boot, anoon a man in an vncleene spirit ran out of birielis to hym.
2 Quando Jesus desembarcou, um homem com um espírito imundo veio dos sepulcros ao seu encontro.
3 Which man hadde an hous in biriels, and nether with cheynes now myyte ony man bynde hym.
3 Esse homem vivia nos sepulcros, e ninguém conseguia prendê-lo, nem mesmo com correntes;
4 For ofte tymes he was boundun in stockis and chaynes, and he hadde broke the chaynes, and hadde broke the stockis to smale gobetis, and no man myyte make hym tame.
4 pois muitas vezes lhe haviam sido acorrentados pés e mãos, mas ele arrebentara as correntes e quebrara os ferros de seus pés. Ninguém era suficientemente forte para dominá-lo.
5 And euermore, nyyt and dai, in birielis and in hillis, he was criynge and betynge hym silf with stoonus.
5 Noite e dia ele andava gritando e cortando-se com pedras entre os sepulcros e nas colinas.
6 And he siy Jhesus afer, and ran, and worschipide hym.
6 Quando ele viu Jesus de longe, correu e prostrou-se diante dele,
7 And he criede with greet voice, and seide, What to me and to thee, thou Jhesu, the sone of the hiyest God? Y coniure thee bi God, that thou turmente me not.
7 e gritou em alta voz: "Que queres comigo, Jesus, Filho do Deus Altíssimo? Rogo-te por Deus que não me atormentes! "
8 And Jhesus seide to hym, Thou vnclene spirit, go out fro the man.
8 Pois Jesus lhe tinha dito: "Saia deste homem, espírito imundo! "
9 And Jhesus axide hym, What is thi name? And he seith to hym, A legioun is my name; for we ben many.
9 Então Jesus lhe perguntou: "Qual é o seu nome? " "Meu nome é Legião", respondeu ele, "porque somos muitos".
10 And he preiede Jhesu myche, that he schulde not putte hym out of the cuntrei.
10 E implorava a Jesus, com insistência, que não os mandasse sair daquela região.
11 And there was there aboute the hille a greet flok of swyn lesewynge.
11 Uma grande manada de porcos estava pastando numa colina próxima.
12 And the spiritis preieden Jhesu, and seiden, Sende vs into the swyn, that we entre in to hem.
12 Os demônios imploraram a Jesus: "Manda-nos para os porcos, para que entremos neles".
13 And anoon Jhesus grauntide to hem. And the vnclene spiritis yeden out, and entriden in to the swyn, and with a greet birre the flocke was cast doun in to the see, a twei thousynde, and thei weren dreynt in the see.
13 Ele lhes deu permissão, e os espíritos imundos saíram e entraram nos porcos. A manada de cerca de dois mil porcos atirou-se precipício abaixo, em direção ao mar, e nele se afogou.
14 And thei that kepten hem, fledden, and tolden in to the citee, and in to the feeldis; and thei wenten out, to se what was don.
14 Os que cuidavam dos porcos fugiram e contaram esses fatos na cidade e nos campos, e o povo foi ver o que havia acontecido.
15 And thei camen to Jhesu, and sayn hym that hadde be trauelid of the feend, syttynge clothid, and of hool mynde; and thei dredden.
15 Quando se aproximaram de Jesus, viram ali o homem que fora possesso da legião de demônios, assentado, vestido e em perfeito juízo; e ficaram com medo.
16 And thei that saien, hou it was don to hym that hadde a feend, and of the swyne, telden to hem.
16 Os que o tinham visto contaram ao povo o que acontecera ao endemoninhado, e falaram também sobre os porcos.
17 And thei bigunnen to preie hym, that he schulde go a wei fro her coostis.
17 Então o povo começou a suplicar a Jesus que saísse do território deles.
18 And whanne he yede up in to a boot, he that was trauelid of the deuel, bigan to preie hym, that he schulde be with hym.
18 Quando Jesus estava entrando no barco, o homem que estivera endemoninhado suplicava-lhe que o deixasse ir com ele.
19 But Jhesus resseyuede hym not, but seide to hym, Go thou in to thin hous to thine, and telle to hem, hou grete thingis the Lord hath don to thee, and hadde merci of thee.
19 Jesus não o permitiu, mas disse: "Vá para casa, para a sua família e anuncie-lhes quanto o Senhor fez por você e como teve misericórdia de você".
20 And he wente forth, and bigan to preche in Decapoli, hou grete thingis Jhesus hadde don to hym; and alle men wondriden.
20 Então, aquele homem se foi e começou a anunciar em Decápolis quanto Jesus tinha feito por ele. Todos ficavam admirados.
21 And whanne Jhesus hadde gon vp in to the boot eftsoone ouer the see, myche puple cam togidere to him, and was aboute the see.
21 Tendo Jesus voltado de barco para a outra margem, uma grande multidão se reuniu ao seu redor, enquanto ele estava à beira do mar.
22 And oon of the princis of synagogis, bi name Jayrus, cam, and siy hym, and felde doun at hise feet,
22 Então chegou ali um dos dirigentes da sinagoga, chamado Jairo. Vendo Jesus, prostrou-se aos seus pés
23 and preyede hym myche, and seide, My douyter is nyy deed; come thou, putte thin hoond on her, that sche be saaf, and lyue.
23 e lhe implorou insistentemente: "Minha filhinha está morrendo! Vem, por favor, e impõe as mãos sobre ela, para que seja curada e viva".
24 And he wente forth with hym, and myche puple suede hym, and thruste hym.
24 Jesus foi com ele. Uma grande multidão o seguia e o comprimia.
25 And a womman hadde ben in the blodi fluxe twelue yeer,
25 E estava ali certa mulher que havia doze anos vinha sofrendo de uma hemorragia.
26 and hadde resseyued many thingis of ful many lechis, and hadde spendid al hir good, and was nothing amendid, but was rather the wors, whanne sche hadde herd of Jhesu,
26 Ela padecera muito sob o cuidado de vários médicos e gastara tudo o que tinha, mas, em vez de melhorar, piorava.
27 sche cam among the puple bihynde, and touchide his cloth.
27 Quando ouviu falar de Jesus, chegou-se por trás dele, no meio da multidão, e tocou em seu manto,
28 For sche seide, That if Y touche yhe his cloth, Y schal be saaf.
28 porque pensava: "Se eu tão-somente tocar em seu manto, ficarei curada".
29 And anoon the welle of hir blood was dried vp, and sche felide in bodi that sche was heelid of the siknesse.
29 Imediatamente cessou sua hemorragia e ela sentiu em seu corpo que estava livre do seu sofrimento.
30 And anoon Jhesus knewe in hym silf the vertu that was goon out of hym, and turnede to the puple, and seide, Who touchide my clothis?
30 No mesmo instante, Jesus percebeu que dele havia saído poder, virou-se para a multidão e perguntou: "Quem tocou em meu manto? "
31 And hise disciplis seiden to hym, Thou seest the puple thristynge thee, and seist, Who touchide me?
31 Responderam os seus discípulos: "Vês a multidão aglomerada ao teu redor e ainda perguntas: ‘Quem tocou em mim? ’ "
32 And Jhesus lokide aboute to se hir that hadde don this thing.
32 Mas Jesus continuou olhando ao seu redor para ver quem tinha feito aquilo.
33 And the womman dredde, and quakide, witynge that it was doon in hir, and cam, and felde doun bifor hym, and seide to hym al the treuthe.
33 Então a mulher, sabendo o que lhe tinha acontecido, aproximou-se, prostrou-se aos seus pés e, tremendo de medo, contou-lhe toda a verdade.
34 And Jhesus seide to hyr, Douytir, thi feith hath maad thee saaf; go in pees, and he thou hool of thi sijknesse.
34 Então ele lhe disse: "Filha, a sua fé a curou! Vá em paz e fique livre do seu sofrimento".
35 Yit while he spak, messangeris camen to the prince of the synagoge, and seien, Thi douytir is deed; what traueilist thou the maistir ferther?
35 Enquanto Jesus ainda estava falando, chegaram algumas pessoas da casa de Jairo, o dirigente da sinagoga. "Sua filha morreu", disseram eles. "Não precisa mais incomodar o mestre! "
36 But whanne the word was herd that was seid, Jhesus seide to the prince of the synagoge, Nyle thou drede, oonli bileue thou.
36 Não fazendo caso do que eles disseram, Jesus disse ao dirigente da sinagoga: "Não tenha medo; tão-somente creia".
37 And he took no man to sue hym, but Petir, and James, and Joon, the brother of James.
37 E não deixou ninguém segui-lo, senão Pedro, Tiago e João, irmão de Tiago.
38 And thei camen in to the hous of the prince of the synagoge. And he saie noyse, and men wepynge and weilynge myche.
38 Quando chegaram à casa do dirigente da sinagoga, Jesus viu um alvoroço, com gente chorando e se lamentando em alta voz.
39 And he yede ynne, and seide to hem, What ben ye troublid, and wepen? The damesel is not deed, but slepith.
39 Então entrou e lhes disse: "Por que todo este alvoroço e lamento? A criança não está morta, mas dorme".
40 And thei scorneden hym. But whanne alle weren put out, he takith the fadir and the modir of the damesel, and hem that weren with hym, and thei entren, where the damysel laye.
40 Mas todos começaram a rir de Jesus. Ele, porém, ordenou que eles saíssem, tomou consigo o pai e a mãe da criança e os discípulos que estavam com ele, e entrou onde se encontrava a criança.
41 And he helde the hoond of the damesel, and seide to hir, Tabita, cumy, that is to seie, Damysel, Y seie to thee, arise.
41 Tomou-a pela mão e lhe disse: "Talita cumi! ", que significa: "Menina, eu lhe ordeno, levante-se! ".
42 And anoon the damysel roos, and walkide; and sche was of twelue yeer. And thei weren abaischid with a greet stonying. And he comaundide to hem greetli, that no man schulde wite it.
42 Imediatamente a menina, que tinha doze anos de idade, levantou-se e começou a andar. Isso os deixou atônitos.
43 And he comaundide to yyue hir mete.
43 Ele deu ordens expressas para que não dissessem nada a ninguém e mandou que dessem a ela alguma coisa para comer.
