1 And the Lord spak to Moises in the hil of Synai,
1 O Senhor Deus falou com Moisés no monte Sinai
2 and seide, Speke thou to the sones of Israel, and thou schalt seye to hem, Whanne ye han entrid in to the lond which Y schal yyue to you, `the erthe kepe the sabat of the Lord;
2 e mandou que ele desse ao povo de Israel as seguintes leis : Quando vocês entrarem na terra que o
3 sixe yeeris thou schalt sowe thi feeld, and sixe yeeris thou schalt kitte thi vyner, and thou schalt gadere the fruytis ther of;
3 Durante seis anos semeiem os seus campos, podem as parreiras e colham as uvas.
4 forsothe in the seuenthe yeer schal be sabat of the erthe of the restyng of the Lord;
4 Mas o sétimo ano será um ano de descanso sagrado para a terra, um descanso dedicado a Deus, o Senhor . Nesse ano ninguém semeará o seu campo, nem podará as suas parreiras.
5 thou schalt not sowe the feeld, and thou schalt not kitte the vyner, thou schalt not repe tho thingis whiche the erthe bryngith forth `bi fre wille, and thou schalt not gadere the grapis of thi firste fruytis, as vyndage; for it is the yeer of restyng of the lond; but tho schulen be to you in to mete,
5 Ninguém colherá o trigo que crescer por si mesmo, nem podará as parreiras, nem colherá as uvas. Será um ano de descanso completo para a terra.
6 to thee, and to thi seruaunt, to thin handmaide, and to thin hirid man, and to the comelyng which is a pilgrym at thee; alle thingis that `comen forth,
6 Os campos não serão semeados, mas mesmo assim produzirão o bastante para alimentar todos os israelitas, os seus escravos e as suas escravas, os seus empregados, os estrangeiros que vivem no meio do povo
7 schulen yyue mete to thi werk beestis and smale beestis.
7 e também os animais domésticos e os animais selvagens. Tudo o que a terra produzir servirá de alimento.
8 Also thou schalt noumbre to thee seuene woukis of yeeris, that is, seuene sithes seuene, whiche togidere maken nyn and fourti yeer;
8 Contem sete semanas de anos, isto é, sete anos vezes sete, o que dá um total de quarenta e nove anos.
9 and thou schalt sowne with a clarioun in the seuenthe monethe, in the tenthe dai of the monethe, in the tyme of propiciacioun, `that is, merci, in al youre lond.
9 Então, no dia dez do sétimo mês, que é o Dia do Perdão , mandem um homem tocar trombeta por todo o país.
10 And thou schalt halewe the fiftithe yeer, and thou schalt clepe remissioun to alle the dwellers of thi lond; for thilke yeer is iubilee; a man schal turne ayen to hys possessioun, and ech man schal go ayen to the firste meynee,
10 Pois esse ano, que vem depois de cada quarenta e nove anos, é o ano sagrado da libertação, em que vocês anunciarão liberdade a todos os moradores do país. Nesse ano todos os que tiverem sido vendidos como escravos voltarão livres para as suas famílias, e todos os campos que tiverem sido vendidos voltarão a pertencer ao primeiro dono.
11 for it is iubilee, and the fiftithe yeer. Ye schulen not sowe, nether ye schulen repe thingis, that comen forth freli in the feeld, and ye schulen not gadere the firste fruytis of vyndage, for the halewyng of iubilee;
11 Nesse ano ninguém semeará os seus campos, nem colherá o trigo que crescer por si mesmo, nem podará as parreiras , nem colherá as uvas,
12 but anoon ye schulen ete thingis takun awey;
12 pois o Ano da Libertação é sagrado para o povo, e nele todos se alimentarão somente daquilo que a terra produzir por si mesma.
13 in the yeer of iubilee alle men go ayen to her possessiouns.
13 No Ano da Libertação todas as terras que tiverem sido vendidas voltarão a pertencer ao primeiro dono.
14 Whanne thou schalt sille ony thing to thi citeseyn, ether schalt bie of hym, make thou not sory thi brother, but bi the noumbre of `yeeris of iubile thou schalt bie of him,
14 Na venda ou na compra de terras, não explorem os outros. O preço será calculado na base do Ano da Libertação; pois o que se vende não são, de fato, as terras, mas as colheitas que elas produzem. Portanto, o comprador descontará do preço o número de colheitas desde o último Ano da Libertação; e o vendedor calculará o preço na base dos anos de colheita que ainda faltam até o seguinte Ano da Libertação. Se ainda forem muitos anos, o preço subirá; se forem poucos, o preço baixará.
15 and bi the rekenyng of fruytis he schal sille to thee.

16 Bi as myche as mo yeeris dwellen after the iubilee, by so myche also the prijs schal encreesse, and bi as myche as thou noumbrist lesse of tyme, bi so myche and the biyng schal cost lesse; for he schal sille to thee the time of fruytis.

17 Nyle ye turment men of youre lynagis, but ech man drede his God; for Y am youre Lord God.
17 Que ninguém explore os outros; que todos temam a Deus , pois ele é o Senhor , nosso Deus.
18 Do ye my comaundementis, and kepe ye my domes, and fille ye tho, that ye moun dwelle in his lond without ony drede,
18 Obedeçam a todas as leis e mandamentos de Deus para que vivam em segurança na terra que vai ser de vocês.
19 and that the erthe brynge forth hise fruytis to you, whiche ye schulen ete `til to fulnesse, and drede not the assailyng of ony man.
19 Ela produzirá as suas colheitas, haverá bastante comida para todos, e todos viverão em segurança.
20 That if ye seien, what schulen we ete in the seuenthe yeer, if we sowen not, nether gaderen oure fruytis?
20 Mas alguém é capaz de perguntar como é que haverá comida durante o sétimo ano, quando ninguém vai semear nem fazer a colheita.
21 Y schal yyue my blessyng to you in the sixte yeer, and it schal make fruytis of three yeer;
21 A resposta é que Deus abençoará a terra, e no sexto ano ela produzirá colheitas que serão suficientes para três anos.
22 and ye schulen sowe in the eiyte yeer, and ye schulen ete elde fruytis `til to the nynthe yeer; til newe thingis comen forth ye schulen ete the elde thingis.
22 Quando vocês semearem os seus campos no oitavo ano, estarão comendo daquilo que colheram no sexto ano, e haverá bastante para comerem até a colheita do nono ano.
23 Also the lond schal not be seeld `in to with outen ende, for it is myn, and ye ben my comelyngis and tenauntis;
23 A terra é de Deus; portanto, ela não será para sempre daquele que a comprar. Deus é o dono dela, e para ele nós somos estrangeiros que moram por um pouco de tempo na terra dele.
24 wherfor al the cuntre of youre possessioun schal be seeld vndur the condicioun of ayenbiyng.
24 Assim, quando um terreno for vendido, o seu antigo dono será o primeiro a ter o direito de tornar a comprá-lo.
25 If thi brother is maad pore, and sillith his litil possessioun, and his nyy kynesman wole, he may ayenbie that that he seelde;
25 Se um israelita ficar pobre e precisar vender uma parte das suas terras, o seu parente mais chegado deve tornar a comprar o que ele vendeu.
26 sotheli if he hath no nyy kynesman, and he may fynde prijs to ayenbie,
26 Mas, se ele não tiver um parente que compre as terras, é possível que mais tarde ele mesmo fique rico outra vez, podendo assim tornar a comprar o terreno que vendeu.
27 the fruytis schulen be rekynyd fro that tyme in which he seelde, and he schal yelde `that that is residue to the biere, and he schal resseyue so his possessioun.
27 Ele descontará o valor das colheitas que o terreno tiver produzido desde o último Ano da Libertação e calculará o preço a pagar, tendo como base os anos de colheita que ainda faltarem até o seguinte Ano da Libertação. E assim ele será novamente o dono do terreno.
28 That if his hond fynde not, that he yelde the prijs, the biere schal haue that that he bouyte, `til to the yeer of iubilee; for in that yeer ech sillyng schal go ayen to the lord, and to the firste weldere.
28 Mas, se ele não tiver o suficiente para tornar a comprar o terreno, então este ficará pertencendo ao comprador até o seguinte Ano da Libertação. Nesse ano o terreno voltará a pertencer ao primeiro dono.
29 He that sillith his hows, with ynne the wallis of a citee, schal haue licence to ayenbie til o yeer be fillid;
29 Se um homem vender uma casa que fica numa cidade protegida por muralhas, ele terá o direito de tornar a comprar a casa até um ano depois da venda.
30 if he ayenbieth not, and the sercle of the yeer is passid, the biere schal welde it, and his eiris `in to with outen ende, and it schal not mow be ayenbouyt, ye, in the iubilee.
30 Mas, se dentro de um ano ele não comprá-la, então ela pertencerá ao comprador e aos seus descendentes para sempre. Nem mesmo no Ano da Libertação a casa voltará a ser do primeiro dono.
31 Forsothe if the hows is in a town `that hath not wallis, it schal be seeld bi the lawe of feeldis; sotheli if it is not ayenbouyt in the iubilee, it schal turne ayen to `his lord.
31 Porém as casas que ficam em cidades sem muralhas são como os terrenos; o primeiro dono tem o direito de tornar a comprar a casa, e no Ano da Libertação ela volta a ser do primeiro dono.
32 The howsis of dekenes, that ben in citees, moun euer be ayenbouyt; if tho ben not ayenbouyt,
32 Os levitas têm sempre o direito de tornar a comprar as suas casas que ficam nas cidades onde moram.
33 tho schulen turne ayen in the iubilee `to the lordis; for the `howsis of the citees of dekenes ben for possessiouns among the sones of Israel;
33 Mas, se um levita vender a sua casa numa dessas cidades e não tornar a comprá-la, então no Ano da Libertação a casa volta a ser dele; pois as casas das cidades onde os levitas moram serão sua propriedade permanente no meio do povo de Israel.
34 forsothe the suburbabis of hem schulen not be seeld, for it is euerlastynge possessioun.
34 Mas os campos em volta das cidades onde os levitas moram não podem ser vendidos; eles pertencem aos levitas para sempre.
35 If thi brother is maad pore, and feble in power, and thou resseyuest hym as a comelyng and pilgrym, and he lyueth with thee,
35 Se um israelita que mora perto de você ficar pobre e não puder sustentar-se, então você tem o dever de tomar conta dele. Ajude-o como se ele fosse um estrangeiro que mora no meio do povo, a fim de que ele continue a morar perto de você.
36 take thou not vsuris of hym, nether more than thou hast youe; drede thou thi God, that thi brothir mai lyue anentis thee.
36 Não cobre juros sobre o dinheiro que você lhe emprestar. Respeite a ordem de Deus para que esse homem continue a morar perto de você.
37 Thou schalt not yyue to hym thi money to vsure, and thou schalt not axe ouer `aboundaunce, ether encrees ouer of fruytis;
37 Não cobre juros sobre o que você lhe emprestar, nem tire lucro dos alimentos que você lhe vender.
38 Y am youre Lord God, that ladde you out of the lond of Egipt, that Y schulde yyue to you the lond of Canaan, and that Y schulde be youre God.
38 É isso o que o Senhor , nosso Deus, nos manda fazer. Foi ele quem nos tirou do Egito para nos dar a terra de Canaã e para ser o nosso Deus.
39 If thi brother compellid bi pouert sillith hym silf to thee, thou schalt not oppresse hym bi seruage of seruauntis,
39 Se um israelita que mora perto de você ficar tão pobre, que chegue a ponto de ter de se vender a você para ser seu escravo, não o faça trabalhar como escravo.
40 but he schal be as an hirid man and tenaunt; `til to the yeer of iubilee he schal worche at thee,
40 Trate-o como se ele fosse um empregado ou um estrangeiro que mora com você. Ele trabalhará para você até o Ano da Libertação,
41 and aftirward he schal go out with his fre children, and he schal turne ayen to the kynrede, and to `the possessioun of his fadris.
41 e nesse ano ele e os seus filhos irão embora e voltarão para a sua própria família e para as terras dos seus antepassados.
42 For thei ben my seruauntis, and Y ledde hem out of the lond of Egipt; thei schulen not be seeld bi the condicioun of seruauntis;
42 Os israelitas são escravos do Senhor Deus, que os tirou do Egito; eles não deverão ser vendidos como escravos.
43 turmente thou not hem bi thi power, but drede thou thi Lord.
43 Portanto, não os trate com crueldade, mas respeite a ordem de Deus.
44 A seruaunt and handmaide be to you of naciouns that ben in youre cumpas,
44 Se precisarem de escravos ou escravas, vocês poderão comprá-los dos povos vizinhos do seu país.
45 and of comelyngis that ben pilgrimys at you, ether thei that ben borun of hem in youre lond; ye schulen haue these seruauntis,
45 Também poderão comprar os filhos dos estrangeiros que moram no meio de vocês. Essas crianças que nascerem na terra de Israel poderão ser compradas como escravos,
46 and bi riyt of eritage ye schulen `sende ouer to aftir comeris, and ye schulen welde with outen ende; sothely oppresse ye not bi power youre britheren, the sones of Israel.
46 e os seus donos poderão deixá-los como herança aos filhos, a quem esses escravos deverão servir a vida inteira. Mas um israelita não pode ter outro israelita como escravo, nem pode tratá-lo com crueldade.
47 If the hond of a comelyng and of a pilgrim wexith strong at you, and thi brother is maad pore, and sillith hym silf to hym,
47 Pode acontecer que um estrangeiro que vive no meio do povo fique rico e que um vizinho israelita fique pobre e se venda como escravo a esse estrangeiro ou a alguém da família dele.
48 ether to ony of his kyn, he may be ayenbouyt aftir the sillyng; he that wole of hise britheren, ayenbie hym; bothe `the brother of fadir,
48 Nesse caso, depois de vendido, o israelita tem o direito de ser comprado de novo. Um irmão,
49 and the sone of `the fadris brother, and kynesman, and alye. Ellis if also he schal mow, he schal ayenbie hym silf,
49 um tio, um primo ou outro parente chegado poderá comprá-lo. Ou, se ganhar bastante dinheiro, ele mesmo poderá comprar a sua liberdade.
50 while the yeeris ben rykenid oneli fro the tyme of his sillyng `til in to the yeer of iubylee; and while the money, for which he was seeld, is rikenyd bi the noumbre of yeeris, and while the hire of an hirid man is rikenyd.
50 Ele e o homem que o comprou combinarão o preço que deverá ser pago, de acordo com o número de anos desde o ano em que ele se vendeu até o seguinte Ano da Libertação. O cálculo será feito tendo como base o salário que um empregado recebe.
51 If mo yeeris ben that dwellen `til to the iubilee, bi these yeeris he schal yelde also the prijs; if fewe yeeris ben,
51 Se ainda faltarem muitos anos até o Ano da Libertação, ele pagará uma parte maior do dinheiro que recebeu quando se vendeu;
52 he schal sette rikenyng with hym bi the noumbre of yeeris;
52 mas, se faltarem poucos anos, a parte será menor.
53 and he schal yeelde to the biere that that is residue of yeeris, while tho yeeris, bi whiche he seruyde bifore, ben rikenyd for hiris; he schal not turmente `that Ebreu violentli in thi siyt.
53 O dono o tratará como se ele fosse um empregado que é contratado para trabalhar por ano. Não deixem que o dono o trate com crueldade.
54 That if he may not be ayenbouyt bi this, he schal go out with his free children in the `yeer of iubilee; for the sones of Israel ben myn seruauntis,
54 E, se o homem não for libertado por nenhum desses modos, então no seguinte Ano da Libertação ele e os seus filhos ficarão livres.
55 whiche Y ledde out of the lond of Egipt.
55 Pois os israelitas são escravos de Deus, que os tirou do Egito. Ele é o Senhor , o Deus deles.
