1 Forsothe the Lord seide to Josue, Nether drede thou `withoutforth, `nether drede thou withynne; take with thee al the multitude of fiyteris, and rise thou, and stie in to the citee of Hay; lo, Y haue bitake in thin hond the king therof, and the puple, and the citee, and the lond.
1 E o SENHOR disse a Josué: Não temas, nem fiques desanimado. Toma contigo todo o povo de guerra, e levanta, sobe até Ai, vê que tenho dado na tua mão o rei de Ai, e o seu povo, e a sua cidade, e a sua terra;
2 And thou schalt do to the citee of Hay, and to the king therof, as thou didist to Gerico, and to the king therof; sotheli ye schulen take to you the prey, and alle lyuynge beestis; sette thou `aspies, ethir buyschementis, to the citee bihynde it.
2 e tu farás com Ai e o seu rei como fizeste com Jericó e seu rei; somente o seu despojo, e o seu gado, tomareis para vós como pilhagem; prepara uma emboscada para a cidade, por detrás dela.
3 And Josue roos, and al the oost of fiyteris with hym, to stie in to Hay; and bi nyyte he sente thretti chosen thousynde of stronge men;
3 Então, Josué se levantou, e todo o povo de guerra, para subir contra Ai; e Josué separou trinta mil homens fortes e valentes, e os enviou à noite.
4 and comaundide to hem, and seide, Sette ye buyschementis bihynde the citee, and go ye not ferthere; and alle ye schulen be redi;
4 E ele lhes ordenou, dizendo: Vede, vós permanecereis deitados à espreita contra a cidade, bem atrás da cidade; não vades muito longe da cidade, mas estejais todos preparados;
5 forsothe Y, and the tothir multitude which is with me, schulen come on the contrarie side ayens the citee; and whanne thei schulen go out ayens vs, as we diden bifore, we schulen fle, and turne the backis,
5 e eu e o povo que está comigo aproximaremos da cidade; e sucederá que, quando eles saírem contra nós, como na primeira vez, nós fugiremos de diante deles,
6 til thei pursuen, and ben drawun away ferthir fro the citee; for thei schulen gesse, that we schulen fle as bifore.
6 (Pois eles sairão atrás de nós) até que os tenhamos atraído para fora da cidade; pois eles dirão: Eles fogem diante de nós, como da primeira vez; por isso fugiremos de diante deles.
7 Therfor while we schulen fle, and thei pursue, ye schulen ryse fro the buyschementis, and schulen waste the citee; and youre Lord God schal bitake it in to youre hondis.
7 Então, levantar-vos-eis da emboscada, e tomareis a cidade; pois o SENHOR vosso Deus, entregá-la-á nas vossas mãos.
8 And whanne ye han take it, `brenne ye it; `so ye schulen do alle thingis, as Y comaundide.
8 E será que, quando vós tiverdes tomado a cidade, vós poreis a cidade em chamas; segundo o mandamento do SENHOR fareis. Veja, eu vos ordenei.
9 And Josue lefte hem, and thei yeden to the place of buyschementis, and saten bitwixe Bethel and Hay, at the west coost of the citee of Hay. Forsothe Josue dwellide `in that nyyt in the myddis of the puple.
9 Portanto, Josué enviou-lhes; e eles foram à emboscada, e permaneceram entre Betel e Ai, no lado oeste de Ai; mas, naquela noite, Josué se alojou no meio do povo.
10 And he roos eerli, and noumbride felowis, and stiede with the eldere in the frount of the oost, and was cumpassid with the helpe of fiyteris.
10 E Josué se levantou de manhã cedo, e contou o povo, e subiram, ele e os anciãos de Israel, diante do povo até Ai.
11 And whanne thei hadden come, and hadden stied ayens the citee, thei stoden at the north coost of the citee, bitwixe which citee and hem the valei was in the myddis.
11 E subiram todo o povo, até mesmo o povo de guerra que estava com ele, e aproximaram-se, e chegaram diante da cidade, e se posicionaram no lado norte de Ai; ora, havia um vale entre eles e Ai.
12 `Sotheli he hadde chose fyue thousynde men, and hadde sette in buyschementis bitwixe Bethauen and Hay, in the west part of the same citee.
12 E ele tomou cerca de cinco mil homens, e os colocou deitados em emboscada entre Betel e Ai, no lado oeste da cidade.
13 Sotheli al the tothir oost dresside scheltroun to the north, so that the laste men of the multitude touchiden the west coost of the citee. Therfor Josue yede in that nyyt, and stood in the myddis of the valei;
13 E quando eles haviam posicionado o povo, até mesmo todo o exército que estava ao norte da cidade, e os que estavam deitados à espreita a oeste da cidade, Josué seguiu naquela noite para o meio do vale.
14 and whanne the kyng of Hai had seyn that, he hastide eerli, and yede out with al the oost of the citee, and he dresside scheltrun ayens the deseert; and wiste not that buyschementis weren hid bihinde the bak.
14 E sucedeu que, quando o rei de Ai viu aquilo, eles se apressaram e se levantaram cedo, e os homens da cidade saíram em batalha contra Israel, ele e todo o seu povo, em um tempo determinado, diante da planície; mas ele não sabia que havia homens deitados em emboscada contra ele na parte de trás da cidade.
15 Forsothe Josue and al the multitude `of Israel yauen place, feynynge drede, and fleynge bi the weie of wildirnesse; and thei crieden togidere,
15 E Josué e todo o Israel se fizeram como se estivessem derrotados diante deles, e fugiram pelo caminho do deserto.
16 and excitiden hem silf togidere, and pursueden hem. And whanne thei hadden go awey fro the citee,
16 E todas as pessoas que estavam em Ai foram chamadas em conjunto para persegui-los; e elas perseguiram Josué, e foram atraídas para longe da cidade.
17 and sothely not oon hadde left in the citee of Hai and Bethauen, that `pursuede not Israel, and thei leften the citees opyn, as thei hadden broke out,
17 E não houve homem algum em Ai ou Betel, que não tivesse ido atrás de Israel; e deixaram a cidade aberta, e perseguiram Israel.
18 the Lord seide to Josue, `Reise thou the scheeld which is in thin hond, ayens the citee of Hay; for Y schal yyue it to thee.
18 E o SENHOR disse a Josué: Estende a lança que está na tua mão em direção a Ai; porque eu a darei na tua mão. E Josué estendeu a lança que tinha na sua mão em direção à cidade.
19 And whanne he hadde reisid the scheld ayens the citee, buyschementis, that weren hid, riseden anoon; and thei yeden to the citee, and token, and brenten it.
19 E a emboscada levantou-se rapidamente do seu lugar, e logo que ele estendeu a sua mão, correram, e entraram na cidade, e a tomaram, e se apressaram e colocaram a cidade em chamas.
20 Forsothe the men of the citee, that pursueden Josue, bihelden, and siyen the smoke of the citee stie `til to heuene; and thei myyten no more fle hidur and thidur; most sithen thei that hadden feyned fliyt, and yeden to wildirnesse, withstoden stronglieste `ayens the pursueris.
20 E quando os homens de Ai olharam para trás, viram, e eis que a fumaça da cidade subia até o céu, e não tiveram forças para fugir nem por este, nem por aquele caminho; e o povo que fugiu para o deserto se voltou contra os perseguidores.
21 And Josue siy, and al Israel, that the citee was takun, and the smoke of the citee stiede; and he turnede ayen, and smoot the men of Hay.
21 E quando Josué e todo o Israel viram que a emboscada havia tomado a cidade, e que a fumaça da cidade subia, então eles retornaram, e mataram os homens de Ai.
22 Sotheli also thei that hadden take and brent the citee, yeden out of the cytee ayens her men, and bigunnen to smyte the myddil men of enemyes; and whanne aduersaries weren slayn `on euer ethir part, so that no man of so greet multitude was sauyd,
22 E os outros se lançaram para fora da cidade contra eles; assim, eles estavam no meio de Israel, alguns neste lado, e alguns naquele lado; e eles os feriram, de forma que não deixaram nenhum deles restar ou escapar.
23 thei tokun also the kyng of Hay lyuynge, and brouyten to Josue.
23 E eles tomaram vivo o rei de Ai, e o trouxeram até Josué.
24 Therfor, whanne alle men weren slayn, that pursueden Israel goynge to deseert, and felden bi swerd in the same place, the sones of Israel turneden ayen, and smytiden the citee.
24 E sucedeu que, quando Israel terminou de matar todos os habitantes de Ai no campo, no deserto no qual eles os perseguiram, e quando todos eles tinham caído ao fio da espada, até que foram consumidos, todos os israelitas retornaram para Ai, e a feriram com o fio da espada.
25 Forsothe thei that `felden doun in the same dai, fro man `til to womman, weren twelue thousynde of men, alle men of the citee of Hay.
25 E assim foi que todos os que caíram naquele dia, tanto homens, quanto mulheres, foram doze mil, todos os homens de Ai.
26 Sotheli Josue withdrow not the hond, which he hadde dressid an hiy holdynge `the scheld, til alle the dwelleris of Hay weren slayn.
26 Pois Josué não abaixou a sua mão, com a qual ele estendeu a lança, enquanto não destruiu por completo todos os habitantes de Ai.
27 Forsothe the sones of Israel departiden to hem silf the werk beestis, and the preye of the citee, as the Lord comaundide to Josue;
27 Somente o gado e o despojo daquela cidade Israel tomou para si como pilhagem, segundo a palavra que o SENHOR ordenou a Josué.
28 which brente the citee, and made it an euerlastynge biriel.
28 E Josué queimou Ai, e fez dela um amontoado para sempre, uma desolação até este dia.
29 And he hangide the king therof in a iebat, `til to the euentid and the goynge doun of the sunne. And Josue comaundide, and thei puttiden doun his deed bodi fro the cros; and thei `castiden forth him in thilke entryng of the citee, and gaderiden on hym a greet heep of stoonus, which heep dwellith `til in to present dai.
29 E ele pendurou o rei de Ai em uma árvore até o entardecer; e tão logo o sol se pôs, Josué ordenou que a sua carcaça fosse descida da árvore, e a lançassem na entrada da porta da cidade, e sobre ela, erguessem uma grande pilha de pedras, a qual permanece até este dia.
30 Thanne Josue bildide an auter to the Lord God of Israel in the hil of Hebal,
30 Então Josué edificou um altar para o SENHOR, Deus de Israel, no monte Ebal;
31 as Moises, the `seruaunt of the Lord, comaundide to the sones of Israel, and it is writun in the book of Moises lawe, an auter of stoonys vnpolischid, whiche yrun touchide not. And he offride theron brent sacrifice to the Lord, and he offride pesible sacrifices;
31 como Moisés, o servo do SENHOR, ordenou aos filhos de Israel, como está escrito no livro da lei de Moisés: um altar de pedras inteiras, sobre as quais homem algum houvesse erguido qualquer ferro; e ofereceram sobre ele ofertas queimadas ao SENHOR, e sacrificaram ofertas pacíficas.
32 and he wroot on the stoonys the Deutronomye of Moises lawe, `which he hadde declarid bifor the sones of Israel.
32 E escreveu ali sobre as pedras uma cópia da lei de Moisés, a qual ele escreveu na presença dos filhos de Israel.
33 Sotheli al the puple, and the grettere men in birthe, and the duykis, and iugis stoden on `euer either side of the arke, in the siyt of preestis and dekenes, that baren the arke of boond of pees of the Lord; as a comeling, so and a man borun in the lond; the mydil part of hem stood bisidis the hil Garasym, and the myddil part stood bisidis the hil Hebal, as Moises, the `seruaunt of the Lord, comaundide. And first `sotheli he blesside the puple of Israel.
33 E todo o Israel, e os seus anciãos, e oficiais, e os seus juízes, ficaram de pé deste lado da arca e naquele lado diante dos sacerdotes, os levitas, que seguravam a arca do pacto do SENHOR, tanto o estrangeiro, como aquele que houvesse nascido no seu meio; metade deles de frente para o monte Gerizim, e metade deles de frente para o monte Ebal; como Moisés, o servo do SENHOR, havia ordenado anteriormente, que eles abençoassem o povo de Israel.
34 Aftir these thingis he redde alle the wordis of blessyng and of cursyng, and alle thingis that weren writun in the book of lawe.
34 E, depois disso, ele leu todas as palavras da lei, as bênçãos e as maldições, segundo tudo o que está escrito no livro da lei.
35 He lefte no thing vntouchid of these thingis that Moises comaundide; but he declaride alle thingis bifor al the multitude of Israel, to wymmen, and litle children, and to comelyngis that dwelliden among hem.
35 Não houve uma única palavra dentre todas que Moisés ordenou, que Josué não lesse diante de toda a congregação de Israel, com as mulheres, e os pequenos, e os estrangeiros que estavam familiarizados no meio deles.
